Governor just ordered restaurants, bars, and nightclubs to close.

Says "takeout and delivery is still allowed".

That joke writes itself. I wish had a few numbers stored up for some of my favorite stripper takeout.

With the governor ordering all bars and restaurants to close, I've been talking with a dancer and we've hatched a plot to set up a private club in a residence. I'm sure it's highly illegal but I will post more details when they are available, or at least let you know when we firm things up so you can PM me if you're interested. I think she already has some other dancers on board.

Guessing that was the number given so as to not cause a mass panic and a run on toilet paper. . . Oops. Too late on the latter. President Bonespur said July or August, and I think that's a best case scenario. I rarely believe anything he says, but he was as presidential as I've ever seen him today, which still is about the level of a 15 year old, but either way, I think he was truthful on that matter, if not perhaps a bit optimistic. I think we are in for the long haul, and I think we will indeed see many of our favorite strippers selling their pugsy online within a week or so. Maybe sooner.

But the clubs can barely control a bunch of money seeking strippers, imagine the back stabbing fun trying to herd cats into line! For me, everyone is suddenly open to take out it seems. I was invited tonight to a Rio dancers house for private dances, I think I'll go and bring up this idea if I have time.

I heard she spends most of her day sitting around drinking and occasionally gets in fights with her boyfriend because she won't go out and look for a job. It may be difficult but not impossible for her to work in a club again. She tried to go back to Harem House after getting fired from the Brass but the manager there, Wendy, wouldn't take her back. She had become too verbally abusive to other people there. One time she got so angry she threw some food she was eating at another stripper and hit her in face with it. When she was fired at the Brass, they wouldn't let her drive home drunk so another girl took her home. On the way home Stevie told the girl she wanted to change and get her drinking under control. Hopefully she can make a comeback. She was a very pretty girl. She's also smart. She just has bad judgement. That may improve as she gets older and matures more.

This virus shut down is giving me cabin fever. I usually hit the bars and strip clubs at least 3 times a week.

Sonjay was not the one I was thinking of then. There used to be a thin blonde that danced at the Hugger. She was a student at least for a while and in her mid-20's. I don't think she is still there but I could be wrong. She was very handsy during a lap dance in the best places. For the life of me I can't remember her name.

What will happen when the Indianapolis clubs open back up? The federal government is passing out $600 a week unemployment benefits for four months on top of any state benefits and have waived the requirement to look for a job while on unemployment. This includes independent contractors, which may be the category most strippers fall under. I'm thinking the looking for work requirement will be reinstated so when the clubs open again some girls will take an extended vacation but only until the reinstatement takes effect. The top earning girls will be back the first week since state and federal benefits together will be less than what they normally make.

So the top earners will be back the first week, the other girls will show up soon after and the pent up customer demand will lead to crowded clubs the first couple weeks. The customers will be younger while the older customers will be more cautious and come back later. There will be more new girls in the club as we go into a recession and other jobs become more scarce. Customers coming in will have more choice. After a couple months many of the girls will leave as the initial demand drops, customers who lost their jobs won't be spending money at the club and some of the older customers are still reluctant to come in. At least one or possibly more of the Indianapolis clubs will then close permanently. These will be the little dive bar clubs or possibly one of the formerly good clubs that have declined like Babes or Harem House.

I think this is pretty much on target. I read this week a discussion of how people felt about going going back to IndyCar races when things. From a pretty supporting group I saw comments about not going back until there was a vaccine. To me that supports idea that younger people will come back first and older people will be slower. Those who have experienced recessions understand how various demographics are affected.

If they are truly independent contractors, where the club doesn't even report any earnings etc. And all dealings are in cash, then they could take advantage of the system. I worry that there will be so much fear about people being that close together that you won't be able to have the kind of fun you could in the past. Meaning the state comes in and creates regulations where you and the dancer have to remain 3 feet apart or whatever. That would be the end for me. No one follows the rule just like none of them follow the rule about wearing pasties. I'm not mad at any of that at all. I could be wrong about the distance law.

Even in normal times there are a lot of advocates for shutting down clubs or tightening the rules because strip clubs are supposed to have negative effects on the customers or strippers. These same people will now use the possible spread of disease as an additional argument for doing this. The best comeback to this is to show that the threat of the disease is overblown. A lot of dire predictions were made and it appears many of them are not coming true and many countries with extensive shutdowns are not doing much better at containing the disease than countries with less extensive shutdowns.

Before all this there have been proposals from time to time to further regulate the clubs, but these have never really gotten any traction in recent years. I could see this being the catalyst for pushing these things through, especially if enough clubs shut down or are financially weakened to the point that they can't challenge it in court. It will allow the politicians to look like they are protecting public health while currying favor with the bible thumpers. It won't really matter if it ends up being overblown. Again, I hope I'm wrong.

But some of us enjoy our trips to the strip clubs. It may not be the same level of fun as escorts or sugarbabies or whatever, but it can be a safe way to have some level of fun without getting robbed or arrested or dealing with these girl's drama in their personal lives. I've partaken in some of these other things and have almost always found it not worth the effort with all of the bullshit that goes with it. I'm not particularly a thrill of the chase kind of person, so maybe that's the difference. To each his own I guess.

Bars and nightclubs will be allowed to reopen at fifty percent capacity June 15th in Indiana. Strip clubs are not mentioned in media reports but I assume they aren't going to be opened before that and it would be possible they would not be included in that category and might have to wait longer to open. Three or four months of no income is going to make it difficult for them. It will be interesting to see if some of them never open again.
