In my other experiences, I've tended to avoid deposits like the plague. I usually try to pay at the end and I usually try to minimize the risk as much as possible. As far as references, I use a few different names. I've had an incident with the wife that has forced be to take extra precautions if I would like to continue the hunt.
If I end up doing a deposit, what kind of security do I have? Like I said, I've gone 2 weeks without hearing from her. I'd hate for her to take my deposit then not get back to me. From the sounds of it, her schedule is rather unpredictable. If she schedules a visit when I'm out of town on business, it sounds like I'd be screwed because she didn't plan anything until the last minute.

You have one or two post here under that handle and no references for anyone to draw from. I can uderstand if your SO found out and you have to start over with a new handle and you have be very careful. What you do not seem to understand is that if you will just meet her at one of her regular locations then if she likes you maybe she will come to you next time. It is not that far from Knoxville to Cookville and if you text her and she tells you she wait on to get there then she will be there waiting. You have to know that the rates in Knoxville are lower than Nashville and that may be the reason she doesn't go there. Cookville is on her way home and while Ktown is about the same distance there really is no town between for her to work in either. She has countless reviews and a good reputation in the hobby. You got nothing but a few post all whining about her not going several hundred miles out of her way to accommodate you. I travel for work quite a bit and it is not uncommon for a favorite provider of mine who is baised in Indianapolis to travel a couple of hundered miles out of her way to visit with me. She is actually from the same hometown as Lilly. She travels there, Puducah and Cincinnati quite often on other buisness but is always happy to try and come see me (could be that I am really a pretty nice guy despite what a couple of the more stellar providers in Nashville think of me) LOL. I am sure if I asked I could get several providers to back me up on this too.

I've always considered this a common practice, when I go out of the way to ask for delivery. You know delivery, even of pizza, often has additional fees. You were lucky to just be asked for a deposit. I will say having been a regular customer of hers in the past that, well, you missed out. Think about it. You're asking for an additional service (or topping to keep with the pizza metaphor) of course there is going to be the possibility of an additional fee and / or charge. In this case, a deposit was necessary considering the amount of distance for such a delivery. (Try calling up Papa Johns in Memphis and have them deliver it to you in Knoxville.) I, myself, have put down deposits. It is just courtesy when asking such a favor. There are the travelling fees as well as their valuable time to be taken into consideration. In my opinion, I would have been concerned as a customer if she had not asked for a deposit. This would mean that she is either desperate for business and willing to risk wasting the travelling fees and whatnot or that she could be plotting some type of robbery. So had she not asked for a deposit from a non-regular, you might want to worry that she could be a sub-par pie or planning some type of crime. That's why it has never bothered me. Each person has their own take on things from federal taxes to delivery charges. Hope this helps. If all else fails go carry-out.

For some providers to go thru "the play", they have to be in a certain frame of mind. What ever a person does use to take the edge off is ok with me, and I am talking man or woman.
