You would be surprised just what LA can do, a city with the largest non military air force in the world, a budget that seems never ending, you do realize LAFD & LAPD suck up 80% of LA's budget?
If they wanted to they could get IP records from any site short of some hosted in non friendly countries, and not to mention they could simply send out bad info to see if it get's leaked and folow up on that there are a number of ways they could investigate it, but the reality is they don't care he isn't putting anyone in jeopardy so as long as they keep making there numbers it's all good.
He wouldn't be the first to take a shit on the LAPD and it's promotion inadequacys and he isn't taking about doing anything the other boys don't do.
One thing he can confirm is how vindictive they are so he knows just how big of pricks they could be if they wanted to.

This is a little off topic, but speaking of the city budget, I find it so amusing that California is allegedly going to be "out of money in March or April, so why is it that I am seeing brand new traffic lights going up all over the place in my neighborhood. I mean this signals have been working fine for, well, the past 40 years, but all of a sudden they all need to be replaced. Also, they are installing them with these stupid Red/Green arrows to make left turns on; that's fine for major streets, but they are assigning them on these little Po-duck streets that nobody turns onto anyway. A classic example s the corner of Southwest and Van Ness if any of you mongers are in my hood. OK, sorry for the rant.

FYI:
The 2008-2009 Los Angeles City budget breakdown for LAPD & LAFD falls under the 42.2% reserved for "Community Safety", including 27.5% for "Crime Control" and 9.4% for "Fire Safety". The LAPD and LAFD are opposing proposed cuts to this funding.
