The firewall must be absolute

Several years ago everyone accessing Facebook via a smartphone had his / her contact list uploaded to FB. It didn't bother asking permission. Now, FB or the rest of the internet for that matter may have tons of information about you through a variety of means. For instance, anyone keeping your info on their phone / computer may have given FB / Instagram / Twitter / Yahoo / Google permission to upload your info. You have no control over that. Advertisers are smart and they're doing their damnest to track you. You have to take precautions. A few to consider:
- The burner phone is a must.
- Don't use your smartphone for hobbying activities, period.
- Find a program that'll wipe tracking cookies from your computer. It'll keep advertisers from following you around the internet and linking your two lives together.
- Use the Tor browser on your computer to visit hobbyist sites. It disguises your IP address and prevents FB from knowing what you're up to.
It might seem paranoid, but knowledge is power. You have to work to stay anonymous.
