This was recently discussed on the Raleigh board. To make a long story short, the way this board deals with symbols can cause edits which result in confusing and inaccurate reporting about donations. Using dollar sign codes serves no useful purpose, at least in my opinion, and causes problems. Could I suggest we all use regular numbers for donations: 80, 150, 300, 400, etc. If using dollars bothers anyone then the euphemism roses can be used instead.

I ended up never meeting her, just always had something better to do, but I did find her actual FB page from the number she was talking to me on, and found she was a graduate of Duke University (confirmed grad pic on her FB page), so she does know how to work the books. No idea on her major. It's weird, because there was something about how she sounded on the phone that led me to believe she was uneducated, and was part of what pushed her so far down my "must meet" list that I never pursued meeting her. She bugged me relentlessly in texts for a couple of months, that was another turn off.
