The basic theories about supply and demand are fitting. Chicago is a large city, the Chicagoland area is extremely large. In the grand scheme of things there aren't that many providers. Then there are three different issues to consider.

First, think about the work. Do you want to spend your day having sex with strange men? Not knowing who is going to show up? That's not the kind of job that is going to be cheap. Cheap escorts are hit or miss, study listcrawler + you have to have experience, a system, a lot of redflag checks and a willingness to go drive to girls with limited info, possibly have your time and gas wasted checking out girls BUT ready to turn around and leave on red flags so no money is wasted. Always go home if it's catfish, she's a liar from the start. It's an art and there is some risks. Also there's a lot of girls you have to know not to go to, which comes from time and experience. Like you said, there's a lot of these really old ads where the last review is 2 years or more or the phone number and email get no response. They should delete or hide ads where the girl hasn't logged in in over 2 months.
