I'm not going to make the same mistake that I did last time regarding Facebook. This is a general question / observation. I've noticed that a lot of SW or ex SW's have Facebook accounts and are friends of other SW.
They usually have a lot of friends 200+ on average. How would why'all go about asking one for their phone number? Would you make a secondary account or use your own personal one? I'm guessing it would be the former because of the use of burner phones.
But a newly created Facebook page with little friends might scare them off. I think they would be a little leery and figure it might be a trap.
Facebook might be the new CL or BP. As far as meeting new people.

We could create a new fb account to contact providers, but you think they wouldn't respond because we have no friends. We could start with all the seniors on this forum that are setting up fake FB accounts at the same time. We could use our USA screen name as a nick name.

What you have to do is go out and find the most popular celebrity there is around you (TV reporter, singer, political activist etc.) and ask to friend every one of their friends. I used Rick Albin from TV8. You will be surprised how many do that without hesitation. The real trick is that when you do gain a generic friend, set them up so that they DO NOT APPEAR in your news feed. Only have the people you want to show up. That way, when someone looks at your page, they will see you have 200 friends, but when you go to your news feed, you only see your fellow enthusiasts. THen you "group" your friends so that you know who your providers are and your fellow mongers etc.

I made an account specifically for mongering, and the strangest thing happened. One of my childhood friend send me a friend request within a few minutes of the account being created. It must have been because the e-mail address I used is in their address book. I may create a new and private email and facebook page all over again.

I'm not too far off from that. Hell, it works for the girls, why not me? The FB account is attached to my Gmail account, so it is totally separate from my real life.
