On the phone, when you first talk, good idea to demand a flat rate, ask about real pics, and a meeting in the lobby or outside. If they are evasive about a flat, all-inclusive rate, hang up. Also, ask if they have reviews, and READ them first. Thats all I know about it, maybe others have better ideas.

Its best to never pay upfront for anything in life before you get it.

Construction on house, auto repairs,"our hobby", groceries.

Always be warry about anyone who is evasive about questions both of you should know are key questions.

When a provider asks if you are a cop, that is a serious question. Never joke around or be avasive about saying no.

So in return the key questions to ask a provider should have the same zero evasiveness.

1k is a lot of coin to send to a complete stranger as a deposit. Never send money in advance.

I know Maui has not many providers, so LV is a treat but try back in Honolulu, there are plenty of choices there.

There certainly plenty of legit ladies on BP but they are mixed in with all the BS'ers, I estimate that 60-70% of the BP ads are scammers. In town over the weekend with the boys and one of them was ripped off. He is not a rookie, but as he freely admitted the next day, made a lot of rookie mistakes while drunk. Most of the people on here would be too smart for this but for any newbies, here is how the scam went down.

He went to Cleopatra's Barge at Caesars late on Friday night. Started dancing with a couple of girls he thought were civilians. He ended up back in the room with one of them and was relaxing with her on the bed, smoking cigars, having a drink and starting to fool around when there was a knock on the door.

He answers the door and it is the girl's friend from the Barge. He let's her in and his girl explains to him that she is just checking on her to make sure she is okay. I know all you professionals know where this is heading. The girl sits down and her friend said she will leave soon and be patient.

The next thing he knows it is 10 in the morning, his cash (1, 300) is all gone, as well as his cigars and some other crap. They rifled through his golf bag and every drawer trying to find everything else.

Obviously his 2 biggest mistakes. 1 / As soon as you get to the room with any girl, pro or civilian, lock up all your valuables except for the cash you need for her if she is a pro. I always lock everything else in the safe before going out. His second mistake was not taking the drink with him when he went to answer the door as that is when he assumes it was drugged. Either don't drink in the room or 100% make sure it is never accessible to her.

Just a tale of caution to those who don't already know.

I have been socking away some cash for my trip and it makes me a little nervous carrying it with me. I won't carry it with me all the time because I tend to lose things when drinking. I am even concerned about leaving it in the room's safe. I worry that the hotel employee that is responsible for resetting the combination could be dishonest and be ripping off guests. It would be easy enough to do. I don't want to bank and withdrawal it because I may have some explaining to do when I get home. What does this wise forum think? Any suggestions?

Most of the hotels have safe deposit boxes for guests valuables. They are down around the front desk, just let them know you need one when you check-in. You get a key for those if you don't trust the in room safe.

Unfortunately, he did not even get lucky for the $1, 300.

Zappa, another option that I have used before for my cash was I gave it to the casino cashier and received a marker. Every time I sat down at a table, if needed, I would ask the pit boss for some cash. Just give him your ID and he has the record there and gives you the chips you need.
