However if you get a doctor's prescription for massage you can keep your receipts and file for reimbursement from your HSA. However most doctors will have you go through a physical therapy company. If you can find one to write you a prescription then just keep your receipts after reimbursement. You could get audited by the IRS.

I did a little more research with my HSA provider and I confirmed that I can't use it for ED pills, Spa / Massage (unless have Dr. 's prescription), and can't even use it on basis gym membership (only for equipment). I've just been sitting on a large HSA balance from a previous employer that was all funded by the employer. That's what prompted me to look into this aspect. I have wait until retirement before I can cash the unused HSA balance to "normal" funds.
