I just got back from Vegas and look on the board and not a lot is going on. Little talk about imigration law a little talk about what kind of soup is better. Has anybody been to a spa and actaully had a massage? I don't go for the soup, but I will have to ask about take out next time I go.

The vote happens tonight to regulate the parlors it's expected to pass this could be the beginning. There are ways around it I will talk to a few of the mamas and get their opinion lot of loopholes.

Best case scenario for a cash base business is they are claiming $1 for every $5 they take in! You can believe the deeper the spas reach in there pockets the more likely survival will be! Now that legislation is in place, there are state and federal grants available to the city and also to MVOC. If they apply and receive grants for the spa laws, that is when the real problems will begin! It will be interesting to see what transpires

Check out the comments by the president of council stating they wanted to get a handle on clientele and the people performing what may be illegal sevices on WKBNdotcom video.

As rumored, are they going to keep records on spa visitors? What is massage training? If it is certified classes, we are screwed for seeing much of a change in scenery. The one thing I did learn in the last few weeks is they are going to limit the number of permits for new providers. Like I have said on a few occasions, they are going to try to set an example and make it heard! I am sure in the next few days the certified letters will find their way to the spa owners and will advise them the time frame they have to comply with any new regulations. I'm sure some of the ladies will find it easier to go to other areas of the country and work than get training, hopefully this doesn't mean the few quality providers we have will disappear!

Think how much money Sun generated for the city just in their move alone? I don't know about you guys but my morale compass is on the right path now thanks to the great city fathers today.

Limited hours, more training, limits to the number of AMPs allowed to get a license. I think the only thing that is really a pain is if there is actually a sign in necessary. This may not holdup in court since there is still no proof of anything illegal happening. Maybe some of the spa's would not be open so late. Maybe they have to pay more for there license, but other then that I think she was hoping it would pass so she could catch more sleep.

The last time I heard it was Richard Thompson who is the owner of Hot Sun Spa not the mamasan. Tokyo Spa is owned by Andrea Thompson. The last time you talked to one of the mamasans and she said it would not be an issue the legislation was not passed. Go ask her this weekend how she is going to get girls that can't read or write English to pass an American exam. There are more laws that are being proposed that will make staying open a lost cause.

The proposals will become law as they are looked at for their legality according to the report. The people of Warren are tired of having their city known as the capitol of "Happy Endings". I hear that the police will be looking at sting operations so the spas will have to either clean up their act or shut down. The spas will go on the defensive and not offer what they have in the past for fear of arrest. So customers will stop going making the spas a losing proposition. They will then just shut down.

I never like to say I told you so. But in this case, I will. All the talk on the internet about these places has brought attention to the spas.

The massage girls will have to obtain a license which is 640. 00 and prove they have 100 hours of education from a recognized school or has a certification from the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. This legislation goes into effect in 30 days and the city was notifying the spas starting this morning. You know all about the increases the owners must start paying. If you think the MVOC worked 2 years to get this passed and now they are going to let some Korean mamasan get around their work you are crazy. Their goal is to close all the spas not take 2 years to get legislation passed and walk away. I wish they would but thinking they will is insane.

Most spas have no signage, small places behind other businesses and such. I was quite shocked the first time I visited Warren and saw a billboard on the way in advertising the spa, have only seen that before in Georgia. Between that and all the PBA stickers on the door of the old Sun Spa I figured ok, well kinda like AC of old (Atlantic city).

While there is way to much info out there it was only a matter of time. They ran all the spas out of Cleveland, the 4 in Elyria & 2 in Sandusky out of business and you can't blame sites like this. It was the scariest time of my life, haha. I came to find out that they really didn't care about me, because I was not what they were there for. However, this recent legislation is not what will hurt them. The training they can all fake, because nobody is going to verify they actually did it, and increasing the cost of the license by $1000 doesn't mean shit, because they will make enough in one day to cover EVERYONE's licenses. These places are a pure cash cow. I can't believe nobody has ever tried to rob an AMP. I would bet they have over 50k in cash on hand a lot of times. I'm certainly not suggesting anyone try this, I'm merely saying I'm surprised nobody has. Either way I'm done with the spas for a long time. I have had my fill, I have seen it all, and the girls aren't going to get any hotter or younger than what I have already seen and had, multiple times. If I added up how much I have spent I could have probably bought a new car. School or state certified teacher. Once a certificate is issued it will have to be displayed in plain site of patrons and inspectors. One of the things this forces is the use of real names within the establishment! (Scary with internet abilities today!) If we got any stalkers here, take it easy. There is a way around this! The spa can become a private club, sell memberships and operate completely outside of the new legislation! As in other business such as bars ans private clubs they operate the same model but have clear cut different rules! If anyone wants to check this out contact a corporate attorney who specializes in business structuring! I was going to talk to one of our favorites.

I know the legislation is the "hot topic", but whatever is going to be will be. So does anyone have any recent reports from the spa's? As long as there seems to be no perceived "raids" where we may be at jeopardy, should we just go about our business as usual.

By getting off topic and not staying true to what this site is about we will end up being part of the problem and not the solution. I sit here right now hesitant to relieve some stress in my back via a massage because of the hype. If normal reports of business as usual were being posted I would have already made the trip to relief. So we are hurting there business by focusing on the scare tactics that are being put in place. I am sure there are others who have postponed a visit for this very reason.
