Sorry but you are wrong if you have a permit to carry and use it in self defense during a crime you will not get into trouble. I have carried a weapon in my car for years even carried it on a few first dates when the situation looked like it may become a bad one. I have been robbed while seeing a client before and didn't have to use my weapon. A gun should be used as a last case scenario not as your first reaction. You can be charged with carrying the weapon into a prohibited location like a hotel room that you knew was being used for prostitution or a drug location. That is a completely different charge then "using a gun during the commission of a crime". It is a much lower criminal charge. Of course I am not giving a legal opinion, just my personal one. Comparing carrying a gun while making a drug deal with carrying a gun to see an escort is like comparing the common cold with HIV, they both are viruses but they have completely different consequences.

Regardless of the outcome I would hazard to guess once convicted you stand a good chance of losing that CWP as well. As with all things in life it boils down to the choice of which battle is worth fighting for.

Yes it is a double charge but I rather be able to defend myself from any thug I may encounter. If they want my wallet, watch, phone, keys its theirs in less than a second. I have known of a hobbyist that got beat to a point were he ended spending several months in a hospital. We run a risk with every encounter we have there's been mongers killed. I usually keep my cell out of sight and have an old flip phone in the console for storing numbers.

Some pretty good action on OBT tonight, between Oakridge and Turnpike, mostly around Sunoco across from Ale House. I answered them a few by talking about experience and sense. If you carefully read some of very senior members, such as veryslowly, vino, you can see they often find SW outside OBT even outside Orlando when they were travelling.
