Provider and "Real" numbers.
I'm agree about not giving out personal info, including your number. Interestingly, I reached out to the person at the link below, and was told very matter-of-factly that providers in OC WILL NOT see clients using a Text App. That blows me away, as every provider I've known has used one, and same with clients. Makes no sense to me. She said she wouldn't see me unless I called from my "real" number. Which I do not plan on doing.
What is the experience of the locals? Still not sure how she knew I was using a texting app. Also, anyone know this provider?

Never use personal information
So I have a phone number and know it's Pinger / Textfree. Now what? It seems that Pinger maintains a pretty tight privacy policy. There are various tools out there that claim to reveal the owner but they're all pretty much the same thing and they rarely work. The previous poster says that once he identifies it as a text app "he does his investigative work" and finds the real identity. I'd love to know more about what kind of investigative work would provide results.
I also use the "textfree' app. I set up a text free account via google.
1. create a google email account. Not a good idea to use your REAL name.
(if you enter a birth date of 15 they will not ask for a verification phone number).
2. use your NEW google account to open a textfree account.
How can you get someones real identity from text free?
There are sites that can look up the phone carrier.
Why would anyone use their personal information?
