This is the best way, but I want to mention that some places will have night shift security after certain hours. It's to keep out homeless and other problems, they don't care if you are actually going to see someone. Since this is a public forum, I won't say any more on that.

Talies' advice is solid, dress and act normal. It needs to be said that LA has a very different culture, because many people mask up and wear glasses for privacy. Which makes perfect sense except it is the opposite of dressing and acting normal. So there are two opposite approaches you can take.
