One in six USA adults have genital herpes (HSV-2). 90% of people who have genital herpes do not know they have it. It is the one STD you are going to get eventually even if you are always using a condom. It took me years to get it, even with 100% cfs I got it on my scrotum. If you are active in any of the activities covered on this site, and you have a SO who you actively have a physical relationship with, you really better know everything there is to know, and have a lot of self-control. You need to specifically ask for it.

I got tested at a walk in clinic last December just to be safe and everything came back clean but HSV-2. Never had any symptoms and never did it raw. It felt like the world was ending until I learned that blood test for hsv2 could yield false positives when the igg test is used and you're in a low positive range. I got retested at another place where they used a more sensitive test instead of a walk in clinic and came back as a false positive. Never been more relieved in my life, however I haven't been in the hobby since because of it. I only ever go to AMPs and always wrap it up, never even got a BBBJ, but I'm still worried about actually catching HSV-2. Is there a way to avoid getting it entirely or is it just vigilance?

All testing has some kind of range or default. Anything that should not be in your body should have a negative or zero value. For instance, if you went to a doctor and they tested you for alcohol, then the default is zero because alcohol should NOT be in your body. If you look at the other tests that she had performed, chlamydia and gonorrhea, the default or acceptable value is NEGATIVE and her results are "negative". For the RPR, the default result or normal result is "non-reactive" which is correct, that result should be non-reactive since the normal state for mankind / womankind is non-reactive or negative for that test. Therefore, her result should be considered positive although a confirmation test is necessary to be sure that the result is truly positive. I read the Labcorp and Healthline web sites last night for more information and a lot of things can cause an RPR test to have a result of Reactive including IV drug use, which she appears to be a member among that group (according to her records on [URL]coreduvalclerk.com[/URL]). A recent COVID vaccination also appears to potentially cause falsely positive RPR test. She posted her own name so I'm not saying anything that isn't readily available online. Hopefully, it's just a false positive. If someone on this board is friends with her, you might encourage her to post any confirmatory results that she may have and which should have been ordered as a result of the "reactive" result for the original RPR. That might alleviate any fears that may have arisen to her earlier post. Just my two cents.
