The Guide to Escort Hobbying is now posted to the Rules of Escort Mongering Thread. This version is the compilation of all of the many comments from members, the blue print from Harpo reposted by Stimulus and the information gleaned from other similar list on other sites similar in nature to ours.
We ask that all members review this guide and please post all comments, addition, deletion and change suggestions in the Rants. Raves and Opinions thread. This will keep the Guide thread from getting clogged up and make it easier for new members to access.
I know there has been an abundance of comments already regarding this Guide. Please remember this guide is being posted so that as veteran hobbyist we will be able to point the new member to a document that will help them get started. This will alleviate veteran members from the redundant task of explaining the hobby repeatedly or just telling nubies to RTFF to get them off our backs. I feel it is easier and makes more sense to give them the tools they need rather than tell them to read and good luck. I know that there are many veteran hobbyists here that do go out of their way to help nubies and I feel they should be congratulated. I also feel that this guide will make it easier on all, nubies and veterans alike.

Which still makes it suck as it is never innocent until proven otherwise. Perhaps it is just for the harassment aspect, but those would leave them open to false arrest charges. They never are supposed to bring up the money nor around here display any nudity. I have heard that down South, both of these tactics are used though, but I never heard of it around here. We are on an escort message board where we exchange information about the girls and the girls post messages and put up ads and pictures to get our business. An ad placed here to catch us by a police decoy running a sting would not be entrapment. The reason is we have shown P4P is what we are looking for by the mere fact we came here. The police didn't put the idea in our head, we had it already. All they did was provide us the opportunity to do what we had in our head already. Baiting us in this situation is okay and not entrapment.
Website, same answer for the same reason.
Imagine driving in a streetwalker area, taking repeated laps around the block, looking at the streetwalkers, waiving to get their attention, slowing down, stopping and the like. Suppose one of them is a police decoy. We've shown our intention by our behavior. The decoy baiting us is not entrapment.
Suppose we are driving to Wal-Mart and are in the lot looking for a place to park. Doing this telegraphs nothing streetwalker-wise. That's where we want to be baited because it would be a freebie. It would be entrapment to bait us under those circumstances because we have done nothing to show predisposition in this regard. Of course, that's why the police decoy is in the streetwalker neighborhood rather than at the mall.

After reading as much as I could tolerate, I believe Wikipedia does a pretty good job of offering a definition of what entrapment is and what criteria must be satisfied for entrapment to stand as a defense. From Wikipedia:
In criminal law, entrapment is constituted by a law enforcement agent inducing a person to commit an offense that the person would otherwise have been unlikely to commit. [1] In many jurisdictions, entrapment is a possible defense against criminal liability. However, there is no entrapment where a person is ready and willing to break the law and the government agents merely provide what appears to be a favorable opportunity for the person to commit the crime. For example, it is not entrapment for a government agent to pretend to be someone else and to offer, either directly or through an informant or other decoy, to engage in an unlawful transaction with the person (see sting operation). So, a person would not be a victim of entrapment if the person was ready, willing and able to commit the crime charged in the indictment whenever opportunity was afforded, and that Government officers or their agents did no more than offer an opportunity.
On the other hand, if the evidence leaves a reasonable doubt whether the person had any intent to commit the crime except for inducement or persuasion on the part of some Government officer or agent, then the person is not guilty.
In slightly different words: Even though someone may have sold drugs, as charged by the government, if it was the result of entrapment then he is not guilty. Government agents entrapped him if three conditions are fulfilled:
The idea for committing the crime came from the government agents and not from the person accused of the crime.
Government agents then persuaded or talked the person into committing the crime. Simply giving him the opportunity to commit the crime is not the same as persuading him to commit the crime.
The person was not ready and willing to commit the crime before the government agents spoke with him. On the issue of entrapment, the government must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant was not entrapped by government agents.

The first thing you have to know and remember is "can LEO can Lie to you".

The best defense against these manipulative tricks is to avoid saying anything to police without first speaking with an attorney. Use the magic words [b]I'm going to remain silent. I would like to see a lawyer. [/b] Repeat, if necessary.
On a related topic, it's commonly believed that undercover police have to reveal their identity when asked. This is false. Police may lie.
In the street Sting operations or at a local motel where you read about here in Cincinnati the undercover female cop posing as a hooker can tell you she is not a cop and not involved with law enforcement when in reality she or he is a cop. Cops have complete immunity to lie to you.

Entrapment occurs when the government induces a person to commit a crime and then tries to punish the person for committing it. However, if a judge or jury believes that a suspect was predisposed to commit the crime anyway, the suspect may be found guilty even if a government agent suggested the crime and helped the defendant to commit it.
As far as creating a crime to make an arrest? A police officer or federal agent can purchase drugs from a known drug dealer, can buy stolen items, even buy counterfeit money from those that they suspect and know is selling.
All of these stings are performed under the strict guidence of court orders and even federal supervision.
In the cases with escorts, LEO post an ad with Craig's List or in Backpages and with a few photos and some suggested language, the defense of entrapment has been severely compromised when a guy answers the Ad. Also the reverse of this is where a provider has posted her Ad with pictures and services and prices also compromised her defense of entrapment.
In a nutshell, if you are posting Ads or answering Ads under the erotic services in Craig's List that display pictures of yourself and / or desire services you are offering or seeking, it is quite difficult then to claim that the police [b]made you do it, [/b] Because the defense of entrapment when its boiled down to [b]common sense[/b] From a jury's perspective is that the police engaged in behavior that caused you as a private citizen to commit a criminal act you normally would otherwise not engage in.
[b]Generally, the defense is not available if LEO merely created an opportunity for the commission of the crime by a person already planning or willing to commit it. [/b]
Most states require a defendant who raises the defense of entrapment to prove he or she did not have a previous intent to commit the crime. Courts determine whether a defendant had a predisposition to commit a crime by examining the person's behavior prior to the commission of the crime and by inquiring into the person's past criminal record if one exists. Usually, a predisposition is found if a defendant was previously involved in criminal conduct similar to the crime with which he or she is charged.
When LEO supplies an accused with a tool or a means necessary to commit the crime, the defense is not automatically established. Although this factor may be considered as evidence of entrapment, it is not conclusive. The more important determination is whether the official planted the criminal idea in the mind of the accused or whether the idea was already there.
Entrapment is not a constitutionally required defense, and, consequently, not all states are bound to provide it as a defense in their criminal codes. Some states have excluded it as a defense, reasoning that anyone who can be talked into a criminal act cannot be free from guilt.

The police expect you to be ignorant of your rights and of the law. So they often get away with doing things to you that are illegal. By knowing what the law is and what your rights are, you can protect yourself from police abuse.
