It should be a slap to the face and a true testimony of how poorly the government pays it's employees. She had to make ends meet and be social as a side gig and they didn't like that. Must have violated a Non Compete Contract. Gov doesn't like competition. The first thing they do now when they bust you is find out where you work, if you're married, in a relationship etc. Of course, they do this by ingratiating themselves to you and making it seem like they're just going to slap your wrist. If you work for a govt entity, they're going to push for your immediate termination. If you work for a civilian employer, they're going to contact that employer to make sure they know. The detective will also call your wife, GF and any family member they can find to put pressure on you. This is all before you're convicted. The Sheriff's and Police Chiefs say this is deterrent, but I think they get off on fucking your life up. Additionally, if you're unemployed, going through a divorce etc. , you're way less likely to be able to afford a good attorney and mount a defense. In her case, the job loss, press releases were all designed to nuke her life so that she just pleads guilty. I'm sure she will. Remember guys, if busted only say one thing "LAWYER" and never, ever unlock your phone for them so they can get contacts.
