Sounds like there was no need to beat the confession out of her
The report left out exactly how long his genitals got massaged. No need to end a good bust too quickly.

Promoting Charge: Caucasian Male, Bond $50,000 (He made bail)
Promoting bust, possibly related to a recently-discussed pair of touring providers (one of whom advertised as being Age 18, which seems to draw special scrutiny from LEO).
Not certain, but it appears that the two providers may not have been charged.
The reporting officer has a little trouble with spelling.
. . . the defendant named above on 06/15/2015 in Davidson County, did unlawfully assist prostitues in the furtherance of illegal activities and that the probable cause is as follows:
On 06/15/2015 Officers with the MNPD Vice unit located an ad in the Escort section of Backpage.com. A date was set for a "two girl deal" at 25xx Elm Hill Pike # xx6 in Davidson County. Once inside the room the UC officer made a 30 minute deal for sex with both girls for $220. Both girls were palced in custody by other members of the unit. While in the room there were no signs that the two females were actually staying in that room. There was no luggage, no wallets and no state issued Licenses. The room appeared to have not been lived in at all. The females were Marandized and questioned but did not want to tell officers where their stuff was located. Approxametly 30 minutes after arresting the females hrs there was a knock on the wall from the room next door. We did a knock and talk and spoke to this suspect. I asked if he had anything on his person and he said "no". I did a cursory patdown of his pockets to make sure he didn't possess a weapon. He did not. I said lets go inside the room and talk and we did. On the desk in front of the bed there were two room keys. One was clearly marked xx6 and one marked xx8. There was also a pink bag on th counter that appeared to be from Victoria's Secret. I handcuffed the suspect and read him his Maranda rights. He stated that he understood. I then asked where the girls id's were and he motioned to the purse that was sitting on the bed beside him. I then asked where their luggage was and he motioned to the red piece of luggage on the desk as well as two pieces of luggage in the closet area behing the door. He confessed that both rooms were in his name and that he had driven them to Nashville in his car. He stated that one of the females, xxx, is his girlfriend and the other, xxxxxxxx is like his sister.

Err on the side of caution
Guess that was not a cop (if it's the same girls) but still glad I didn't get involved in that.
If indeed the providers weren't charged, some possible reasons would be:
1. They are victims of trafficking.
2. Their testimony is needed to convict their promoter.
3. They have agreed to participate in a sting.

3 points always to be remembered.

A2[/blue]
Let's see. How many single moms will have hungry children because of attempts to halt provider ads?
A provider's life may not be paradise, but for many smart women it's a viable option when faced with financial hardship.
This is, after all, an activity that is legal in much of the western world. We just happen to be in a nation burdened with the groupthink of our puritan forefathers.

And the banks did business with backpage for so long why?

A2[/blue]
OK so I understand the Sheriff wanting to influence the credit card companies to do what he thinks is right. However, what I have to wonder is why in the world did the banks not stop handling these transactions on the adult services section of backpage (and other similar sites) say 4 or 5 years ago? It's not like they didn't know what was going on. And it is not just recently brought to their attention. Considering approximately 9 million in transactions, probably most of them through MasterCard and Visa, that is some major revenue to be made. No, I think something else is pressuring them and the banks figure "better cut our ties sooner rather than later. ".
