While of course I am saddened to hear of this latest crusade, I'm sure it stems from a combination of the same tired argument that P4P "victimizes" the women even if they aren't "trafficking victims" and are participating entirely voluntarily for the moneymaking opportunity. Part of it is the tax evasion aspect. Perhaps the most compelling reason for Mary Cheh and her constituents is the NIMBY (not in my back yard) aspect.
Many of us remember the foul smell going up the stairs to Downtown where some thoughtless guys relieved themselves on the stairs. I've sometimes seen empty beer bottles on the stoops of some of the places, and many of the providers I've talked to have complained of some guys coming in really drunk and acting like jerks. It only takes a few assholes to make a spectacle of themselves by their rude behavior inside and on the streets outside the AMPs to piss off the neighbors and reinforce another tired argument that AMPs attract "undesirable" people who really are a nuisance, a false generalization, but highly effective to score political points. Some of us also remember the homeless that used to panhandle outside of Happiness, knowing that guys with cash were coming and going from there, something the AMP tried to control by putting potted plants on their stairs.
IMHO, the only way for the remaining AMPs to survive is to lower their profile and blend into the background. They may need to be even more discreet when using their video surveillance cameras on who they choose to admit. It's really too bad that a few thoughtless, selfish individuals, a very small minority, can ruin a good thing for the rest of us who are responsible in our hobbying activities and don't attract undue attention to ourselves or the establishments.

From my conversations with a few girls I've gotten to know and my own experience, I can confirm that almost everything you say is true. I would point out that most of the unfortunate occurrences take place behind closed doors and UTR. Generally, the activists who are crusading to shut down the AMPs and the general public wouldn't be aware of any of those specifics unless they frequent AMPs themselves or gain the confidence of providers.
My contention is that in the current environment, it's the "in your face" flaunting of P4P that generates the most angst. If an AMP was just a faceless, sign less door with a buzzer, didn't advertise, was hardly mentioned on public blogs (if at all), and had discreet, respectable looking guys coming and going that didn't attract attention to themselves, the problems we're facing might not be as severe.
The big difference seems to be that local LE now seems to be responding to local citizen complaints, which will require AMPs to be more stealthy if they want to survive.

Thanks, that was a fascinating read. It reminds me of a historical museum I visited in a large, mid-western city on the Great Plains. They even seemed to brag about their wild west past and how P4P was rampant in their city over 100 years ago. Of course, P4P was technically illegal, but the city used the "fines" from P4P busts to generate revenue to provide city services and expand the city infrastructure. Funny, the same places were "busted" time after time, but were never shut down until "modern" times. Negative progress for sure, as you can't find a single AMP in that city today.

Def agree to it, and may i add a little to it. For those of you going to AMP for the first time. Please find out where the place is ahead of time. Go there during daylight and walk around find out where the AMP exactly located. When you decided to go, just walk right in. There is some sort of construction happening on the first floor of the building. A woman was smoking at top of rail as I descended stairs.

Another point. Rather something I've noticed. If you get your directions from Yahoo Maps, Google Maps or the like. Don't carry the printout with you when you're going to a spa. It's a little obvious when you're looking around at everything and everyone carrying a computer printout. Can you say "I've never been to this neighborhood" any louder.
Just my thoughts.

The only difference was that the massagi came after the main event. The TS was definitely rushed and it was "game on" as soon as we got back to the room. Yeah, I got busted with a DUI in Washington by blowing a 0.02 on the breathalyzer. You read that correctly...0.02. This was about 8 years ago, but I went out for happy hour, had a few drinks and stopped drinking around 7pm and began drinking Diet Coke. On the way home, drove through a checkpoint and made the mistake of telling the cop that I had a few drinks, but stopped drinking 6 hours before. Enough said.
But, you forgot that cell phone use (non-hands free) is illegal in DC also.

I checked out the City Paper and noticed that Gold had an ad for the third floor and M Street had an ad for the second floor. The last time I went to M, there was a "For Sale" sign on the third floor visible from the street. I may have to check it out on Friday and report back! Last time I went to M (little brain thinking while at one of the adjacent establishments), it was very run down and the attendant actually tried to upsell me -- a first for DC AMPs in my experience.
Royal has had a change of women and the service is as fine as it ever was. Did you ever notice how busy some of those places are and yet how few posts there are?

Dreaming is cool sometimes. Like real life.
I was downtown, around 11PM. Not too much traffic and I found a place to park rather easily. I was asked for change once but I gave the guy a single instead of change. He went away happy.
I was inside the 1333 spa (known here as GHS). I was shown to one room then immediately shown to a larger room, near the back of the place. Met Mickey. Nice perky package, awesome frame, longish hair. Nice!
In the shower it seemed there was a mat on the table. Took the chill away from the table right away and made the shower really comfortable as well as relaxing. Water was just the right temp, the attention was excellent. After shower, off to the sauna. Warm and relaxing. After some time, what seemed like 10 minutes, back to the room.
Massage started out with a lot of pressure on my back, then moved down until she started massaging my feet. After more back pressure and more leg attention, on to the main event.
Mickey had a body suit on with a ruffle right above her ass. Well, that simply disappeared. Funny how time lapses fast in dreams. I clearly remember tasting the rainbow and after that meeting a missionary and walking the dog. After that, I found myself cleaned up and sent out the door.
Wonderful time was had by all. Then I woke up.
