Sometimes they also want you to just help them with life stuff like finding an apartment or setting up utilities or random other BS. And also help paying for it, of course.

"Mentorship" is ultimately maturity. You'll just not get all you want from a "mentorship" scenario. Sort of a red-flag at this point, at least for me.
