For example, one way to understand the reasons behind an uptick in crime rates is to use evidence, data and analysis. Why are crime rates on the up surge? Who is it that's using violence against whom and why? Is it a gang fight? Is it over territory? Is it random? Is it one gang? And then as you find out the basis for that, then you can develop a solution or a response to the actual nature of the problem.

You, like many others are proving what I am saying. We do not want to allow the medical and scientific community to have an honest discussion about the virus, treatment, and prevention. Too many want be sheep and follow the most scariest information. Last week a medical report came out from China showing that those who are asymptomatic have a 0. 31% chance of actually spreading it. Did that get very far in the US News Media. No. Those, like me and my family, who are blood type O are in the category who are least likely to catch it or suffer from it and based on that report from China, to pass it on. When I heard that "underwater welding pays well", my brain turned that into $150-$200 per hour (because $300-$400 k per year seems like "a good income" to me).

So, I think this flood of noobs simply aren't pros yet, and just don't know their new industry. They have unrealistic expectations for compensation, and that's reflected in their pricing.

We might assume that younger providers have left the supply (due to the pandemic?) and that demand has actually gone up. The pandemic, among other things, has taken away a lot of free-time / entertainment / leisure time options for many mongers I. E. Can't go to the movies, concerts, sporting events, limited dining out, to bars, etc. It's possible that mongers actually have more disposable income to spend on providers, and they have more leisure time to pursue it. And since most providers likely had a long dry spell with zero income during 2020, they are more likely trying to see if they can make up a deficit.

My starting pay was $28/ hr, when I left I was at $34/ hr plus full company paid benefits, 100% match on 401 K up to 15% of my annual salary and more approved overtime than I could work in 2 months time. A certified underwater welder with 2 years experience is going to be upwards of $100/ hr, so your rationale of $150/ hr isn't really that far fetched, that type of job is extremely skilled, NOT in very high demand and you may go months without work. With my certifications currently, I can pretty much walk in to a place that needs a precision welder and command $25-30/ hr, but those jobs are getting harder to find. Add to that the fact that I am over 50 and the realization that I can't do what I did 15 years ago (physically) and the market gets small. Now, these colleges are telling these kids today that they can make $100-150 K a year, the kids get all excited and go out applying for jobs and expect $40 hr, with zero real world experience and pretty basic skills, they get offered $17/ hr and they thumb their nose at it or take the job and start looking for another job immediately. So yeah, noobs have unrealistic expectations because some porn star out there said she made half a mil last year. And giving blowies doesn't require any talent (in their minds).
