Seems it is getting harder and harder to practice this hobby. I recently moved from Knoxville where they shut down two brand new AMPs, and from what I have read also hit some of the independents pretty hard as well. What's a guy to do for a good time?

Which brings me to a real question. Anybody here who has been busted willing to share details on how it all goes down? What I'm asking is. Do they take you to jail? Are you released right away? Or does someone have to pay your bail? Then court or what? I'm asking all this cause I often wonder WTF would happen if I get picked up. Is my wife and job automatically going to find out or what? Scary shit man. Scary.

Be safe all.[/QUOTE]It is certainly harder and harder to play! Always perform your due diligence, go with your gut if you feel something funny, and look for & react to red flags. Don't worry about who else doesn't like it, it's your at$$ you have to keep safe.

The details. The way it 'often' goes down is that you will be grilled (asked a ton of questions, treated like crap, talked bad to, threatened, made to feel if you don't cooperate your natural born life is over) and then cited, photographed (for placement on the Metro website along with your name and what part of town you are from), and sent on about your way until court.

However, it is at their discretion to arrest you and take you to jail where you will either be released:

-- on your own recognizance (your promise to appear in court when expected, not having to pay a bond) which requires you providing some references that they can call to verify information given to them by you as well as your character. (to the best of my recollection, they DO ask for family members)

-- on bond (you have to pay 10% of whatever your bond is, hire a bondsman (& pay their fee which is usually pretty minimal. Average is $35-50))

If you are booked, you will generally be released within a few/several hours; after they process you, run your background, fingerprint you, present you for a bond setting, etc. (and after you hire a bondsman if you aren't released on your own recognizance).

Again, generally you will not be taken to jail, but they do have the option to take this route and, more often than not, do this if you have a record, particularly with related charges. There is no strict guideline to whether or not you will be cited or booked. It's at their discretion.

Whether you are cited or booked, you'll get a court date, generally within 30-60 days but this all depends on what the next dates they are booking for.

Your wife and job will not automatically be notified but you will be on Metro's website [url]http://www.police. Nashville. Gov/ppa/index. Asp[/url] so it's not like it's going to be a huge secret either. If you're lucky a newspaper or the news will cover it too. (but if you hold some position of importance, it is more likely that a bigger deal will be made of it, & a lot of people you know will likely find out about it)

You may be asked to 'flip' to save yourself in which case you either man/woman up to the fact that you know this hobby involves risks and just take your misfortune as exactly what it is. A risk you take to play; or, you flip on others in a hobby where you hope to establish trust with your fellow hobbyists and providers and throw that on out the window like a coward =)

(*disclaimer. I'm not an attorney, just the long-winded MOS who has a lot of knowledge in the hobby from her 10+ years in various angles of the game as well as a legal background and a few connections of her own. And just plain smart, like it or not! )

(and honey, don't take the 'like it or not' portion to heart. Don't know how much, or how long, you've been watching the board but if you've been around, you know why I throw out those snarky little comments here and there. To get a few people's panties in a wad (so I can LMAO a few posts from now) and to entertain the rest who enjoy watching me hand those wedgies out! )

P. S.. To the many of you who have PMed or emailed me to say that you haven't seen me around the board much and miss my "witticisms", I miss you all too! Summer has just been a bit crazy for me so I haven't had as much time to peruse around the board and put my 3 cents in as often. But 'ol EP will always surface to give ya some love and entertainment! P. P. S.. I do have some board catching up to do and plan to do so very soon! There's one particular post, by an apparently HUGE fan of mine (at least according to the random posts that end up with my name in them even when I haven't been around, showing how much I stay on the mind! ), that I got a handful of PMs and emails about that I should probably, and will probably (solely for entertainment's sake) address. I know many of you were waiting for that, you told me so HAHA! (wishing I could be a fly on his brain when he reads this. Already LMAO. Although I should stay away from the ear canals because I'm sure steam would be rolling out of them) Yes, darlings, I will come shake it up a bit for ya soon! Don't worry, I won't let the testosterone around here fill up the place so much that you can't breathe for long! EP to the rescue with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation!

I hope that gives you a rundown of what you were looking to find out. Again, always play as smart as possible. Rules of thumb for the ladies and the gents:

*If it seems TGTBT, it's very likely it is;

*if you just feel that something is not right, it's very likely that it's not, and you should consider trusting your gut even if it means you miss out on a thing or two (better safe than sorry);

*look for red flags and investigate promptly or just stay away (again, better safe than sorry. There are plenty of providers and hobbyists to choose from so there are always options;

*do your research on providers/hobbyists you're interested in, look for references & reports both good and bad, take into consideration how old reports/references are; ask around if need be;

*don't just think with the little head; always consult with your big head and trust him/her first;

*never take something just because you're in immediate need of a dream or a few bucks; make sure you follow the same rules as when the feeling isn't so urgent.

OK let me first apologize if my posting of Marissa led to someone on here getting busted. What I posted at the time was indeed the truth. She legitimately took care of me. I hooked up with her about two weeks ago when she was staying at a hotel on Bell Rd. Only reason I called her was because in one of her ads on CL she had an old pic that she used before she got busted and was going by Shelby. Her new pic, I didn't even recognize her. Anyway I called her, she let me know where she was staying and to give her some time to shower and finish eating. Got to her place, talked a little, she put her annoying little chihuahua in the bathroom, and we took care of business. I got a below average BBBJ for .40. No CIM allowed, so I busted a huge one all over her chest, neck, and a little hit her cheek. She said no facials but the little on the cheek was an accident. She didn't even say a word though, just went and cleaned up. When we were done we talked more (she did most of the talking) and she was telling me how she got busted and what others girls from CL and BP were locked up. We finished talking and said our good byes. I figured I would she her again if I was really wanting to get some relief and nothing better was available. I am thinking about calling her now just to go see her and get her side of the story, if she has a side. I'm sure she wouldn't tell me the truth anyway.

Let me apologize once again if someone got busted due to reading my posting on Marissa. Even though I am not directly responsible I feel bad. And let me just say to anyone who may be getting the idea that I might have gotten in some trouble and be helping LE, nothing could be further from the truth. If I ever get stung by LEO, I would take my lumps. To whoever was involved please PM me and let me know the details of how everything went down.

I really hope I never have to experience the whole process, but in light of all that's going on lately it seemed like a legit question.

I also agree with your tips on how to be safe. I think the biggest and best one I mentioned earlier also. Think with the big head and not the little one.

but never busted. Both experiences were out of state, not here local. Years ago I was with a girl in my car at an out of the way spot and a motorcycle cop pulled up. He seen her head come up so it was pretty obvious what was going on. He made us get out, searched the car, and called for vice when he recognized the girl as a streetwalker. I thought sure I was going to be taken away that time but then he turns and says get out of here, I don't ever want to see you around here again. I said Yes Sir! and took off as fast as I could.

The second time was more recent, I had picked up a girl and about a block away I was pulled over with her in the car. He suspected that she was a working girl and said if she had priors we would be going to jail. There was a nightclub nearby so I told him that I was just picking her up to take her home. Luck was on my side that night, she had a completely clean record so he let us go. I did take her to her home after that and found out that she only did this on rare occasions, when she needed a little extra cash to get by. If it had been one of the crackhead streetwalkers that had been in and out of jail frequently I probably would have had first hand experience to relate on what the procedure was when busted. That was enough to scare me off of streetwalkers, and haven't picked up one since. It's just too risky. If that had been Nashville I wouldn't have got off so easy either time with the way the current attitude is.

The scary part to me about Marissa, not faulting CV at all, is that even if you rely on reports from reputable members here, it can still happen. There is always going to be some kind of risk with this hobby, but hopefully ones that have been reviewed as ok then turn will be few and far between.

I just have been fairly quiet for the past couple of months because my life gets a little busier in the summer and I've been spending time developing my business (not my 'hobby' business LOL) so just haven't been around the board as much as I usually am. That's all!

When I am around the board more I frequently answer questions, give my 2 cents, my advice, etc. (& ruffle feathers by voicing when someone is dead wrong for something, or by vocalizing my opinion about something which might not always be similar to someone else's, defending people when I feel they're wrongfully attacked (which again, some people don't like but Imma be me wherever I am and without regard to whether someone else approves or not and I've always been one to stand up for myself and for others)) =) *Treat others as you want to be treated*

I've been involved with almost every aspect of the hobby off and on over the years so I try to be helpful when I can. And I have a legal background which is also sometimes helpful =)

Bamababe (Kathy) had a change of plans. She's here (in Nashville) now until Wednesday night (Aug. 5th) only. She had originally planned on staying until Thurs. or Fri. so if you want to see her this visit,better hurry.

Obviously she has the knowledge we all need. Not sure how, but we will find out soon. Guess I will learn a lot more since I had no knowledge of the fine arts of being busted. Hope I never know first hand.

It is a class B misdemeanor which has some scary consequences depending on who is in charge. Mostly it is the having your photo on the web and available to all search engines which causes the most embarrassment and problems. You will pay fines, you will be fingerprinted and in Homeland Security records which means they know what you have done every time you go through the airport or cross a border. You will have to get a health check to prove you are not the victim of an STD. Then you have to go to John School which is the easiest of all to finish. You will be amazed how many people are in John School and will understand how lame excuses sound for what was a stupid mistake. Getting a lawyer is the best plan and you will have to pay for that one out the nose also, but it will keep you from getting screwed when a dumbass deputy prosecutor wants to throw the book at you. It will be a year of probation with automatic jail time if you screw up in that time frame. If it ain't what you expected when you show up, just walk away because they are not going to give themselves away if you have not broken the law. They come in big droves and do threaten you if you give away their sting before it is up. When it happens you might as well take a seat on the side for awhile because until the terms of your plea deal are met the consequences are not worth the risk. Generally your deal can be expunged and that should be done as soon as possible because there are search engines just waiting to reveal your misdeeds if you don't take care of business. There is a Vandy law professor who believes the Metro approach to putting your picture on the web is challengable and he could win it, but it means revealing yourself to have been arrested if you choose to make that challenge. Metro special investigations are busy boys and girls and make money for their endeavors. Best to believe the TGTBT and play by the rules of the game about how to protect yourself. One slip and it is a lifetime branding.
