Possible Explanation for Rise in Sting Traffic
The FBI launched a coordinated effort in 57 cities across the USA with local law enforcement to stop teenage prostitution. While Tampa is not specifically mentioned I am 100% sure it was on the list with the RNC coming to town and all. So more than likely they started the sting as a result of this and figured busting other working girls in the process was a win / win situation. They probably had FBI resources to assist with the start of it, so it only seems logical that they decided to do a cleanup for a few days after.
