A Glock is a cheap piece of shit weapon for low budget departments. No safety, and made in Germany. A pro would carry a Walther, Sig, or an H&K but they cost a little more. If you bet your ass on a weapon I guess you have to decide what your ass is worth. Personaly, I favor the Walther PPK / S. Before Glock made guns they made plastic office furniture and knifes for the military.

That said.

Some of the best financed LEAs in the US carry Glocks as their standard sidearm, most notably the FBI.

Do you honestly believe that the FBI issues Glocks because they are a "low budget department?"

Both the internal hammer and the passive safety system make Glocks an idea pistol for LEA use.

That would be why they are so widely issued.

I would say however that I'm not a fan of forced issue. I think that within reason, cops should be able to carry whatever sidearm they want.

Guns are not one size fits all.

I should add that I personally own NO Glocks.

Left work early, texted several times trying to get a general location to go to. Continued texting and calling up through the appointment time. Received a text an hour and a half later (when I was home) explaining all the drama behind why I didn't hear from her. My time is too valuable and there are too many reliable young ladies in town for this type of unprofessional behavior. (BTW, long-time lurker and long history in the hobby. I know this is my first post and should be taken with a grain of salt). Just relating my experience.
