Employment opportunities in our area are being carefully scrutinized. If you are privileged to the Black Wednesdays outcome, you'll understand my point.

Overall, in terms of working atmosphere, DC is much better than NY. In terms of money, DC is, on average, is a little higher than NY. Culturally, DC is on a completely different level.

Why? Ownerships and working ladies in NY are slowly changing from Korean to Chinese and caters to higher proportion of Chinese clients. A number of our mutual friends tested out the NY scene, and all could not last the first week. In fact, two of them left the after the second day.

This issue requires much more thought than your generalization. Oh, and there's some resentments between Korean and Chinese ladies.

I had a great dream yesterday, went to Supra for the first time. Thanks for all the good info on the board to all you folks. That works for me. When she mentioned marriage, she was open about needing a husband to stay in this country. There was never any other implication. I do believe that many of these women would marry a monger just to stay in this country. Such a marriage would be unrelated to love. They don't want to go back to Korea. I have no idea if they would expect to live the life of a married couple or how past debt would be handled.

Many will marry a guy to stay here. However they DO want to be able to travel back and forth to Korea. Family is important to most of the girls I know. They can only renew their visas so many times. Once that option runs out, they can go home but cannot return here legally. Marriage to an American and the possibility of getting a GC is a way to legally travel to and from.
