First, do you believe that everything you see or hear in the media is completely true. Do you know ANYONE that is HIV positive? Do you know ANYONE that knows someone that is HIV positive? Did you know a person can carry the HIV virus for up to 10 years before they test positive (I am pretty sure of that statement)? And if your old lady is doing the guy down the street you just might have a problem with this issue too. I do not know whether she is possitive or not. Nor do I know whether the last BP girl or AMP lady is. Oh, and yes I have been know to cruse the stroll.

There are risks out there, in life and hobbies. We measure those risks and make choices.

My hope is there are enough of us that will keep her interests and in her incall and off of BP or CL or the streets so she will gladly continue to service our needs and wants.

And happy hunting to all that choose to do so.

It just seems to me there is a much bigger media reporting of it than there is a hugh and growing issue, as it would seem, they would like for us to think. Then when news about Sara's potential HIV came out he said that he was scared and will take HIV test just to be safe. [/QUOTE]More than one type of test. Antibody and PCR. Usually the antibody test is the one they run. Average time for this test to go positive is about 1-3 months. However, it can take over 6 months or up to a year (or more sometimes).

Antibody test can give false positives. Its design bias is deliberate to get as much sensitivity as possible. Then has to be followed by what is know as a Western blot to confirm.

PCR which isn't used as often can spot a positive in as few as a couple of days.

Recent transplant case was just all over the news. Donor was tested negative 30 days before transplant. Went out and did some stuff. Went positive and the recipient got HIV from the transplant.

I would like to connect a typo in my comments, the error is the years rather than MONTHS for the testing peroid.

It still surprising me how many people seem to have fear if there is information that states someone MIGHT be positive and the total lack of fear if there is NO information at all. Is this called deinal?

[/QUOTE]What happened was the paper reported her as being charged with "aggravated prostitution" or something like that which supposedly means she was HIV+ at the time of arrest. Then the paper RETRACTED THE REPORT and said it was erroneous. Period.
