Did you try to negotiate? Just tell her what you will pay and if she won't agree then leave. But it sounds like you just didn't like her offers. Just like we are always going to start low - they are going to start high and get what they can.

They are probably not interested in discussing prices because they are cautious. They just hope you will do them right. I think 60 is the normal tip for HJ - so I wouldn't call that gouging. If you can get it for less - do it - but there are a lot of guys who pay that much or more.
