It's part of the culture to just wear mask in that area of the world and it simply makes sense during not only Covid, but now the flu season to wear mask when meeting a ton of people all day.
You have every right to not want service if they wear it, but trying to get them to stop when the upside is you seeing their face and the downside is them potentially getting sick is weird.

Masks make wearer 'feel safer' however, most over the counter, box of 100 type, bulk surgical masks are not certified for use as respiratory protective devices (RPDs). The micron holes in masks are larger than the aerosol influenza type virus.

No one wore a mask before the pandemic. This is girls just be afraid of illness after SARS killed thousands of them. COVID is a variant of SARS. In fact, in medical circles, it was often referred to as SARS II.

But yes it is true that in the AMP culture, masks are a part southeast Asian society, so that dynamic is always in play.

Never did they state that the cloth was ineffective. Something is better than nothing. Duh.

The conversation was about the dime a dozen, 100 on a box, flimsy and cloth masks. Not well fitted N95 masks which don't keep all of the SARS virus out because that virus is smaller than what that mask can filter out. Let it go already.

The best prevention is wearing masks, keeping booster on the vaccination, and keeping distance. I have followed these, except for distance while in the hobby and have not had COVID.
For those that think that COVID is over are either in denial or ignorant. The rates are still high.
You have a choice to go to places where the ladies do not wear masks and where they do. I recommend that you do not look down on any individuals that wear masks to protect themselves and others. At least we are trying to fight the pandemic unlike you self centered people that refuse to wear a mask. But then again it is your right to be inconsiderate.
