US Congress just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA", seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully.
Any tool or service can be misused. We can't take such risk without jeopardizing all our other services, so we are regretfully taking craigslist personals offline. Hopefully we can bring them back some day.

According to this link, the bill has been passed by both houses of Congress but hasn't been signed into law. And given the current president's personal history with certain women and his mercurial temperament, who knows what he will do?

I'm hoping some enterprising lawyer or legal foundation will use this as the vehicle to have the courts strike down laws criminalizing consenting adults behavior where an exchange of money is involved. Trafficking and exploitation of minors can be dealt with while still preserving the rights of consenting adults.
Just like the 1930's prohibition, only time will tell how successful it will be. Some good advice is find a reputable provider. An older wiser man once told me every action has consequences. You can minimize your risks. As I get older, I find that relationhips that are built over time often reap tremendous benefits. I usually bring a small gift so it makes verification easier the next time around. Again, think with the big head always.

It's important to note that, when you do a search for a particular city or zip code, you usually don't see all the ads for that area. The site will hold some back and say they are "hidden" and you need a "friend's token" to view them. According to the site, they don't charge for the tokens but you have to provide your email address. Then it's up to them if they approve you and send a token code, which is only valid for a limited time.
Rather than go through all that nonsense, here's a workaround I've been using that seems to do the trick. If you're looking for a specific area, say Arlington, first do a search using that city name but then follow it up by searching other nearby cities (ex. Falls Church, Springfield). The default radius is 30 miles so your searches will overlap each other. You should see a few different masseuses in each result so you'll have a more complete picture of who is available.
Also, just as with the CL and BP therapeutic sections, the way an ad is worded, the pics used, and the pricing structure (if listed) will give you some clues as to possibilities. And some ads have links to external websites which contain additional info. Good luck and don't forget to come back and report on your experiences.
