Well, I never call anyone I haven't thoroughly checked up on via archival methods (reading reviews, reverse-checking her cell number, etc) so I always know what's on the menu before I even make a call.

Typically I will call from a landline; at home I call from my dedicated fax number. Everyone now has "caller id" so I do not want her to have my cell, office, or home number too soon. I don't want to risk any harassment from an unbalanced provider later.

Well that is probably being more safe but I sure wouldn't go see a provider without asking those questions unless I had already read a review or gotten a recommendation for a friend on her.
