I completely agree with you.
Think about the people that want to keep things the way they are: law enforcement, judicial system, monitoring and prison operators. Too much money and jobs tied to the war on drugs.
Not going to change in our lifetime.
On a side note, I bet trump adopts your plan as a last gasp measure to get votes.

Wachovia did is about 10 years ago and laundered over 350 billion dollars. When they got caught, no one went to jail and they were fined 50 million. Does that sound like a lot? Well it was 2% of their profits. Some war on drugs, eh? And do you remember which president started the war? You might google some quotes from Nixon's staff about why they did it. Apparently Nixon couldn't make protesting the Viet Nam war illegal (or being black) so the made pot into a demon and went after pot and heroin like nobody's business. So hippies and blacks got busted regularly and were not such a problem to his administration. I could go on but the fucking war on drugs disproportionately affects people of color and the poor. The stats are widely available. And locking users up has been show never to reduce the quantity or availability of drugs. All it does is break up families and ruin lives. Fucking politicians looking out for the money that gets them re-elected. Follow the money and you'll see the truth and not just with drugs.
Of course if they legalized drugs, prostitution wouldn't go away entirely but it sure would change.

And then some 40+ offered to pay it so I wouldn't get evicted just to do something with him that I do every Saturday night with some young stud I met at the club / bar. Shit, if she is pretty most of us won't last but a few minutes without popping our top. But the Holier than thou's, and the ones making money off of sending fools to jail who can't afford lawyers, make a lot of money from this BS. And the ones of who can afford good lawyers, are willing / able to pay $k to get this dismissed and put behind us, rather than have that show up on your next loan, job, clearance or public knowledge.

So basically if you are on the property of any number of local motels you can be charged with frequenting a bawdy place. The FBI and local police are targeting everyone on Backpage they're going after the providers also. They're going undercover posting as providers and Johns. They are shelling out charges from unlawful massage to keeping and residing in a did mention I was informed that they aren't just going after Providers in the hotels they are targeting providers in their homes as well. 20 minutes in you'll get a knock at the door surrounded by a whole swat team with guns drawn. They are targeting all hotels from Richmond, Henrico and Chesterfield county. No one is safe as their goal is to arrest the johns not the providers. The providers are being issued a summons to appear in court while they haul the johns off to jail. Be careful guys Backpage is swarming with LEO. My attorney advised that with the recent arrest of the CEO Backpage will encounter a lot of stings. Hobbyists and providers be on the alert they're taking everyone down ad by ad.

They are now using the word 'trafficking' to include any prostitution to make it so that all providers are now 'victims'.
