As saddening as it was, thank you very much for posting those links. I just finished the Sun's slideshow and I am not ashamed to say that my eyes are a bit teary. I wish I could've made it back before this heartbreaking (for me) event.

I always thought that the lighting on the new tower - those floods up the front - were the sharpest thing in town.

What I wouldn't do for 10 sq ft of sports book carpet and one of those old blue chairs. Preferably the one with my ass-print in it.....

They're selling it ALL, right down to the pots and pans and barstools and pictures on the walls and half dead palm trees and definitely including the sports book chair you've carefully molded to yourself over the years. If it doesn't kill you to look at it, you can see pictures of every stitch of it catalogued for the auction at the website.

Personally, I'm not ashamed to say I pilfered everything distinctly Dusty I could manage to remove without getting arrested (barely) before they locked the doors. Which unfortunately was not nearly half of what I'd like to have to turn my home into a Stardust shrine.

Item number 267/268 it is then.

Hell, I think I'm going. Man, that would be outstanding to have a desk section and a couple of chairs sitting on a piece of 'Dusty rug. The ambience of 'The Office' has been lacking every week this season and I feel it has affected a few of my investment choices.

And at least if I did have a desk section I could finally replace the damn lite that always seemed to be out where ever I sat...

I wonder if that idiot J.J Walker is part of the sports book auction? I would bid on him only to be able to slap the piss out of him and leave him on the curb.

During my first return since moving in Feb, I stayed at 3 different places and thought I would post some basic info.

I'm a motel type of guy. I like to be able to go from the vehicle to the room with minimal effort. My plan was a week, at the most but that turned into 10 days because of logistics with the Stardust auction that I faithfully attended daily.

The first week I stayed at Town and Country III down Boulder Hwy just south of Nevada Palace. I had stayed there for a couple days on my way out of town in the spring and thought it was OK. This time was for 1 week/7 days. The cost was $227 - tax included - for a 1 bedroom "suite". I had stayed in a "studio there the last time. The difference, other than being $10 more, is the wall between the living area and the bedroom. A studio has a counter/cut out and the TV sits on that. A 1 bed doesn't. That means no TV viewing while in bed.

The rooms have a full-size kitchen but no coffee maker. Think small apartment. A Walgreens down the road has 4-cup coffe makers for 9 bucks, coffee and stuff. If you don't need daily maid service or a 24 hour front desk then this is a good place. At $33 bucks a day it's a nice, quiet, clean and comfortable place. 24 hour laundry on-site and phone-port internet access. Of course, it is off the beaten path of the strip but for someone like me, who has no problem with that - it works great. It's also in the middle of the two strolls on The Rock.

My activities were, more or less, limited to the AAMPs but I did keep an eye out for the SWs. Naturaly, with my luck, the activity was nill during my stay there but I wasn't looking all that hard.

After the week was up, I shifted over to the Orleans. At this time I was using a UHaul as well as a RAC so the parking was good for me and it was right down the street from my storage areas that I was retrieving. The usual inflated holiday rates kicked in my 2nd day but the first day was $60 for a nice spacious comfortable room, overlooking the pool area and with a complete work desk area. Simple security key-desk - flash your key and ride the elevator.

After getting fully loaded with my storage and the Stardust auction items, I decided one more nite would be the thing to do before the 700 mile drive. The King 8, rather the Wild Wild West, was the choice for various reasons - truck parking, outside room access, sentimentality, etc. Friday after Thanksgiving was $100 a nite. I could've worked it to a truckers rate thru people I knew that still worked there but what the hell. As I told the front desk girl - there will never be a room on that property that's woth $100. Never. This place has seen its day come and gone - if it even had a day to claim as its own. Hell, it was shot 20 years ago when I worked there. You can feel the room's floor bow in the middle from the years. The $19.95 that's on the sign seems about right - maybe.

What got me was that while coming down Trop, the SWs were out in force. My chosen room was closet to the SW corner of the prop and looking at the west lot so as to view the SW action and my rented truck. Lots of reports of stolen rental trucks over that month. As soon as I checked in and got settled - not a soul on the sidewalks. Figures. Being with a 17' UHaul, a walk-in BJ would've been nice and now nothing to be found. Boo hoo hoo.

So the moral of the story is both times that I 'lodged' there on the common strolls, I saw nothing. In the Spring I stayed at one of the dives on Industrial where they were beating a path in the sidewalk and nothing. This time the Wild West - same thing. I can;t win...

BUT the Town and Country was a nice place and real reasonable in price for the week, if you don't need the amenities like maid service. Parking can be tight at times. Orleans - nice and comfy and seems to be without any problem at the key desk. I didn't even break stride - just held up the key, got the nod and was on my way.

I didn't bring my laptop so I can't comment on the Internet access at either T&C or Orleans.

You know, I was doing some thinking about the day in the life of a hooker.

If a girl does one guy a day, at $$$, which is common to me, and she only works 5 days a week (ho's deserve a regular schedule too.) Lets see:

I believe that is 1500/week, times 4, a cool 6 G's a month, not bad. That comes
to what? 72K/year, without tax! I think these ladies have it good.

Now this is being conservative. She can choose who she wants to be with, she really isn't working until she does the deed-which lasts less than an hour.

I have seen women so beautiful and perfect, you would knock everybody out the way to get to her, how much could she be making?

This was just a thought of how good these ladies (less pimp) have. It must be greed that does them all in.

They do pay taxes:

The "I'm retarded" and pay WAY too much for things tax.

You have to remember you are dealing with females. If they are truly independent meaning no agency or pimp, most likely over 2/3's of their money is being blown on drugs, shopping,beauty parlor, or kids or just plain spending it like crazy.
Females are not good on saving/investing their money and letting it work for them. Put cash in a chicks hand and she makes a beeline straight to the mall.

Like I said, "less pimp" or without pimp.

I just thought about how good a woman, who is in control of her life, can make such easy money, a life we men wish we could lead.

PsyberZombie is right about the amount of money to be made is more in stripping but some women are too modest for that.

Fact is, these women in vegas are making mad money, what they do with it or how they manage it is another thing.

A few years back, I had a lot of money and blew alot of it, because I didn't know how to act with all that money. I spent most of it on lavish trips, I couldn't help making myself look rich when I visited foreign countries.

Hey, you have to enjoy life. If I were a stud, and could get women to PAY
me, what a life that would be. That is all I was saying about these women here. They can choose who they want, they can pace themselves and have a decent life. Have any of you guys ever been to India, where those poor girls have to work in a dirty room, screw 20 guys a day, for little or nothing.

Got a tip this past xmas weekend, there might be a couple of houses in the area of eastern/washington/bonanza and near carey/pecos. As soon as i get verification i'll update. most likley these houses are being run by people in the mexican mafia and ms13 gangs, so i doubt they are kosher like asian houses.
