Happy to be back in the saddle after a long layoff.
Happy to be back in the saddle after a long layoff.
Jay,
Glad to see I'm not the only one here in B-town. The sad part is, I don't know anything going on here. For my own reasons, I don't got across the river. Not that it would matter, since I think they have the same lack of activity there as there is here. Which is zero, unless you want to trade for durgs.

You mean Gulfport doesn't have any action at the strip bars? I know it's been awhile, but I used to get laid every time I went there. The dancing girls had no problem zipping off to a trailer for a quickie.
If things have changed. too bad. I used to love Gulfport.

I went to Gulfport strip clubs on many occasions and was never able to get anything from any of the girls, other than giving them money for dances on stage. I had heard others got luckier but I was never able to.
Your only hope is if there are some dancers that have came in from out of town and are staying in Burlington at a motel and havent made much money during their stay.My advice is to strike up conversations and see if they are making any money and if it's a busy night you might as well forget it.It worked for me one time and it just kind of happened.I would say Gport is a real longshot. If you want to spend that kind of money you could go to the Red Garter in Ottumwa.I have heard it's O.K. Or Dport there's always stuff available there.

Couple of years ago I heard about red Garter. Not all that far of a drive for me so I Decided to investigate and it was burnt down, do not know if they rebuilt it or not. You may wann check before you go to see that it is open.
I know this is old news, but I didn't know until I visited the area last month..

Porn Shop !?!? WB's Newest Business
West Burlington city manager Dan Gifford confirmed yesterday that the Venus Adult Book Store will relocate to the building formerly known as "Gamerz Hideout" at 421 Dry Creek Avenue in West Burlington. County records show the building was sold to the new owners on October 3rd of this year. Gifford believes the business will open around November 1st. City Hall first became aware of the porn shop's purchase of the property when they requested water service.
West Burlington currently has no ordinance preventing a porn business from locating in town. However, Gifford said the city council is working on an ordinance to make it harder for businesses like this to locate here in the future. The council passed the first of three readings of the new ordinance during their last meeting.
Has the new location for Venus News improved the place at all? I can't say I was a fan of the place after they did the big remodel years ago.
Is there even a theatre, and if so, is there any couples type action going on there on a regular basis? With the closing of the strip joints in Gulfport, is there any action of any kind to be had around Burlington? In the past, I've seen a few working girls being pimped out of that bar on the corner near the Venus's old location, but that's been all I've ever noticed as far as street action. Then again, I didn't look terribly hard for it with Gulfport right across the bridge.
When I first encountered Burlington in the 80s, there was Gulfport, the old style Venus, and a massage/modeling joint that featured "extras." Since then, the area's sex industry has been sliding sharply downhill.
We're heading up that way to hit the Ridgewood Lounge soon, just wondering if there was a point to even continuing on to Burlington anymore for anything more than a visit to Taco John's.
Hello all,
I will be visiting the Burlington area over the holiday weekend and am seeking any and all recommendations for providers in the area.
I have done some searching but not found much so far.
Any recommendations of any sort are appreciated.

I was near there last summer and was tempted to pay a visit until I saw road signs saying the road was flooded out. The town was under water. I have no idea if they opened back up or not.
There have been some reports about them in "Illinois- Other areas"
We were in Burlington a couple of weeks ago and cruised across the bridge to Gulfport. The only rehab activity that we saw was that the club in the "middle" past where Boss Hogg's used to be seems to have survived and appears to have someone working on it. Can't recall what the most recent name was, but it was called Phoenix back in the day.
Other than that, the other two strip clubs and the bar/package joint are totally gone. The nightclub (Sam's) was still sort of standing, but nothing has been done with it either.
The devastation is appalling, kind of a miniature post Katrina New Orleans, sadly enough. I think that there ARE some people living in some of the homes, though we didn't see a living creature of any kind during our cruise.
The flooding is over, and reconstruction almost complete. Gulfport will never be the same, but Burlington seems just fine.....So, I must ask.....any action? Anyone? Bueller?
The women -- of all ages -- at Martini's are fabulous....
