Get plenty of indicators that some KBs may soon (potentially) fold: KB owners losing their minds: screaming, yelling, blaming, foaming at the bit, etc. ; KB ownership musical chairs; a / see broken over one month; ice machine broken over three weeks (tell employees to buy their own ice); no sanitation maintenance for bar, kitchen, ice machine, etc. (pilau); KBGs fighting over ten dollah nekohana. Feel like David Letterman already-Top Ten Reasons Why KBs Going Fold.I stopped by for short time yesterday as I told mama if in the area would stop by for one. I was surprised to see all new faces pretty much there. I didn't realize the downward spiral till one old timer filled me in on the current situation. I heard about the Ice Machine and the Sam's club connection for ice. I dnk why she cannot do a ice run to diamond head ice and pick up 40# bags for $7-12 bag (It is not the bartender who is responsible for Ice, it is the house responsibility to make sure the ice machine is working and after 3 weeks that machine needs to be cleaned out really well or she will make her customers sick). Anyway it is pretty bad when told should have used restroom at 74 when stopped by to see one of my favorite bartenders. I was not aware of the kitchen situation, the bathroom was ok to take a whizz. I really feel for this mama as she tries so hard but man is she spinning her wheels. She needs to treat people like people. I will pray for a positive resolution for this mama as she does have a son. . Hey Betty, I know you probably already tried but maybe you can give her some pointers?? Before she really goes under, and take all her supporters or maybe detractors with her.
I also heard Jerome quit and will be at International from Monday. GOOD LUCK JEROME!

I also heard Jerome quit and will be at International from Monday. GOOD LUCK JEROME!Reports are that Jerome already there but official start date is Monday, 06/22; some regulars from Talent when move house to International. Looks like Talent soon to be abandoned by current employees looking for a place without so much doodoo from a cuckoo owner. Some KBs not fixing their a / see; good luck for summertime.
Otherwise, no more much change as retread KBGs filling the slots and some are even coming out of retirement to contract their services. Stay tuned for 'happenings' reports from Twilight, Old Casino, Vummit, Talent, and International.
some are even coming out of retirement to contract their services. Will these be blood-thirsty sharks whose LVBs have run out of money?
Mits, you get "can resin" I can borrow?

Sorry if I missed it, but what establishment are you posting about? Thanks. The title of his post (#4500) says "Club Talent".

Out of the 5 bars you mentioned, I see none of them will survive in a long run if they continue let shit happen the way it is now. Part of it I blame owners dig their own grave for its mismanagement. From increase the price of happy hours drinks and champagne, discontinued with free house pupus, turn down the AC to save a few bucks on electricity. I used to enjoy good pupus and ice cold beer at Summit after a hot day playing 18 holes. Not anymore, I am taking my friends to Kalihi side to enjoy cold AC, delicious pupus and ice cold beer.

The title of his post (#4500) says "Club Talent".Yeah, shortly after I clicked upload, I saw the title. LOL. Usually don't bother reading, but will now. My apologies. P.S. Appropriate name for current-era KB? I think not.
Mits, you get "can resin" I can borrow?Anytime. Need resin for be slick and wax for grip; stay on the board when riding the big ones so that the KBG sharks no bite. They hungry right now as their LVBs have run out of chum and bait or no can spend already. Some Kalihi KBs hanging ten with the pupus and friendly service; Kapiolani KBs just "hanging," ready for collapse. Must be the price of eggs.

.Went Splashee on Friday around 4 pm. When the small bar opened, it filled up fast. The 2 MILF bartenders had plenty cleavage showing. The one in the orange dress caught my eye. Anyone there can tell me who she might be? Any play? Might go back another day.

One of them probably was BB from Cali, she is no fly zone, has a Korean friend hang out at the bar for her all day.

Guess where I see most of the princesses hang out these days? No doubts Kalihi side. Most of these town BGs have some sort of attitude problem, they only approach big sharks these days. Kalihi side BGs more friendly and the owners know how to take care customers. On a Friday night, try go by Summit and Spotlite, check it out for yourself and tell us which bar you like better.
Spotlite mama Sandy fill up her bar with customers, good pupus and lots of girls, on the other hand TC mama of Summit is struggling big time, obviously name change did not helped a bit.
International, Twlight, Talents are on the same down hill path too, they are not doing much better.

This is totally unconfirmed, and at this point Speculation, but heard some of the old time Mama's maybe coming back into the business. If they do find suitable places and they do open their doors maybe this is the revival the bar scene may need, heck it couldn't hurt. I would welcome, a change in this stagnant environment. I am sick of these Korean princess coming in for 90 days rip and tear what they can and go back home after 90 days. These women even draw salary and yet they don't work on Sunday and Monday. These Mama's need to sign a contract and commitment to work 90 days maybe Sunday off on alternating weekends. I realize nothing to keep them from calling in sick from a heavy drinking session from the night before, but really something has to be done.
The Mama's I heard mentioned were: Patty, Betty and Maya. Who knows maybe these wannabe mama's can take some classes from these Veterans. Like they should! Be safe guys seen a lot, a lot of cops driving around lately. Must be that time of the month.I agree getting stagnant. Need change & soon.
Never know who will or may appear on the KB scene after 'retiring' or an extended hiatus. KB owners are opportunists; if they feel that a current losing situation is a fit (and can get a good price), they will start gathering 'investors' and try to turn-it-around. Legal or not, making money is a strong motivator that drives individuals needing it to shape their lives. Unfortunately, a majority of the time money only brings more grief (nothing wrong or bad about money; it's the people who screw it up).
Anyway, that's my opinion about who (or what) may appear on the KB scene; that 'anything can happen' and usually does.

International, Twlight, Talents are on the same down hill path too, they are not doing much better.Definitely agree. Business start picking up just a little and all of a sudden town BGs become greedy and expect rather than be grateful for the support of their steady customers. Summit trying to retool itself with Chinese girls, but that is not going to last long with some of their attitude and treatment of bar staff. 74 and EG at night are now on burnout mode with customers. Mostly just the same customers there every night. The rest, who might otherwise be loyal customers, go infrequently because they know the wallet going be empty fast.

I have notice Summit trying to " retool itself with Chinese" but it is obvious not working, they are still the slowest bar in the area. The girls they are getting now mostly are part timers, some work weekends only, some work 3 days, some come when they like. Girls are not committed and with shitty ass attitude.
I already notice some conflicts between the White, Chinese and Korean, they are bad mouthing against each other. Summit used to be a good place to relax, good house pupus and friendly girls, they have pay first if you like to eat policy now, and the new girls they have are mostly transient.
I agree with you, most bars are in the burnout mode. Greedy girls are asking too much, LVBs are getting their wallet dry out, causal drinkers are going out less and less.

I've been in there some nights and the ac was off. It was bearable, but it was also relatively cool outside with a nice breeze. It is so hot, my girlfriend actually turned on the ac in our house. I usually stay in my office doing work with the ac blasting at 65*. She stays in the living room or doing something outside because she doesn't like it cold. I came out of my office this morning and the rest of the house was nice and cold!

It is old news, mama is saving a few bucks, but the problem is she does not realize she is losing more customers. You wonder why some golf teams don't hang out there anymore? That place is a sweat box on a hot summer day.

Actually, that is the same Naomi. She used to be co-mama with Ellie at one time. After that ended, she was so much happier bartending. If you want to see her, she's there on the weekend for sure.
Sorry, Brother JR but the Naomi on the weekends is not the same as Naomi 2 I checked and she is still out evidently she suffering from Vertigo and it's unknown when she will be back. This just FYI. She is not there on the weekends as she usually works the nights the princesses take off Sunday, Monday. Unknown when or if she coming back just have to wait and see, If you have her number I would just call.

We all know this and the biz model of a KB is not so complicated: wahines, food, and conversation / song. The cool and successful KB owners are the ones who make real humble, do the PR, and are always looking for ways to thrive (taking full advantage of their resources). The current KB ownerships lack finesse and class; they just glorified waitresses.

.Maybe saving a few cents even. I went in there one afternoon and tried turning on the lights in the bathroom and nothing come on. The outlet on the left side was obviously live and none of the breakers were tripped. That bathroom is dark even when the door open if have no lights inside. Next time better bring flashlight to bar.

I hate to say I have been there and done that, not in recent history though. Anyway there are many other fish on the sea all looking for that Atm withdrawl so keep your card handy and see what bites. I hope this was not at Splash but it is busy and the ATM in there gets used a bit which was surprising as I usually bring my budget with me for the night or the CC if worse case scenario.
The good or bad thing she is watching you, seeing if you get stupid because you my young friend is her property and she has a stake in you and your money which she is counting as hers. It doesn't matter she too busy for you to sit with you but buy another girl a drink and she is all over you my advice tell her to get lost (easier said than done, especially if you have feeling for her (I hope not)). I have to admit the selection is limited after all for those not on the 90 day plan. The old timers are known as good or bad accordingly and the recycled ones are just that recycled, although since they been out of it for awhile they seem new to the newbies in the bar. Or not.
There were two that I have come across that recognized me before I recognized them to my detriment but yeah lot of older women still working, playing the same old games time to rest and take a break again maybe before the end of the Korean Bar as we know it, be safe gents and Dragon 76 you have been lurking like brother Chibi. Be safe guys and I will see you when I see you. Say hi though getting old sometimes forget. You know how that is.

The KB'S were full of LVB' s and grandpa's and OMG the money the KBG'S were making. Those were the days and it wii never be the same. Just ask Betty mama. Time for the next generation.

Time for the next generation.I was there at the tail end of the 70's. The girls made more during the 80's and 90's. I still see many of them now as nurses at hospitals, attorney, judges school teachers. Point is the lvb / grandpa bar model failed. Time to go back to the successful model from the 90's. If only conversation and bad karaoke, let the kbs die.
If you like play go: TO A MASSAGE PARLOR, you will be in the same boat sooner than later even before you know it. LOL. Right brother Mits?I was hoping someone was reading between the lines so no need state the obvious. Always was about the wahines and what you could get; other stuffs in the KB were just distractions. Nothing really different in the KBs then and now. Time marches on and waits for nobody (you'll all get there, no worry).
On another note, take a gander at the interior condition of Talent; more specifically, the carpet. Scared for stay in there as I've had bites around the ankles (of course, other things may have contributed to the bites). Makes you wonder if the owner takes care of herself in a similar manner. Customer health and safety is of the upmost importance.

As John Ross was saying AC off at nights, I and other customers are aware of that, posters have discussed it before. I even complained it to some girls to tell mama last summer, the problem has not been corrected so far.
As far as the live outlet in the bathroom I am not aware of, it is a very serious matter if that is the fact, someone could have get shocked or even could start a fire. Did you brought it up to the attention of the workers there?
The place also have serious cockroaches problem, as I sometimes sit at the booth to enjoy my food, I see cockroaches crawl up from underneath the table. The BG sat next to me picked up a beer coaster and smashed the roach, yikes, I almost throw up my food. That was not the first time I see cockroaches in that place.
Also the karaoke room AC is not working property, I spend a birthday party with my friends in there one night, the fucking room was like a sauna, we had to move to another room which was not much cooler.
I question Mama's business mindset, she invested her money on the darts board and pool tables which I rarely seen people play. But neglect of dealing with problems such as roaches, AC, and possible live outlet?

Agree with you guys on the a / see situation. But as the utility bills for KBs approached $3-5,000 per month, the solution was to leave the air conditioning off until later (or as complaints start); skipping on sanitation and maintenance soon followed. Hiring lolos for key positions is now the norm as the smarter ones get education and training or find other means of survival, as others have noted.
The end of the KB era is clearly near and predictions of bye-bye by others on the horizon. Come on you guys, let's think of solutions to keep the KBs going; some, unfortunately, but not all KBs will survive by our suggestions. It's worth the try and, of course, bettah than doing nothing.
I'll start: install renewable energy (solar) power panels to cut costs by 50%. Cut food costs by purchasing directly from local farmers; butcher and prep yourself.

And once asking price for drinks got to $20 or $40 from ROBs then that was the final nail in the coffin for me.
I hope some intelligent KB owner tries reprioritizing a bar's emphasis. Should make it a restaurant / beverage operation first and hostess bar second. Seat customers like a restaurant, give them a menu and ask what they would like (food, drinks, or company). Food and drinks should be top notch and the plan would be to break even on food sales. Profit will be from alcohol sales and hostess drinks. Set up a good kitchen and sell food as good as Side Street's with a competitive price. Then have a nice attractive group of KBGs that push food and customer drinks to earn the house profit. Hostess drinks should never be $40 (maybe even reduced to $10 before 9 pm and on Sunday nights) but the hostesses make it known that there is a table sitting time limit for each drink (15 min or 20 min?). But no table hopping allowed, only one customer at a time to give full attention to. In turn, the owner has to create a profit sharing plan with her girls for the food and customer drink sales. But, the owner cannot have any ROBs working for her. Those are the ones that turn off customers that get pissed off and go somewhere else.
This only has a chance to succeed if the owner has the best food, nicest girls, and greatest atmosphere (decor, A/C, parking) than other KBs.

If they can't get girls that play, then they need to do what the VB owners have been doing over the last 5 years. VB cannot get girls from Vietnam because of immigration restrictions. Viet girls that grew up on the mainland will not play and are flaky at best. VBs have been renegotiating leases and changing format to sports bars or restaurant / lounges during the week. On weekends, they rent to club promoters for all the young thug action. Without play, no sense having hostess bar. That's why the LVB / Grandpa model of business fails.
The only way to get sales volume up to the point where it makes sense to have hostess bars is to have young women that want to fuck and suck for ladies drinks. Otherwise, let the KBs die.
DickTracy25
07-02-15, 18:43
Most of the bars are lease from 6 months to one year, so the bar owners would not be that stupid to install solar on their own.
As far as the build owners are concern, they would care or less how much money would save on the electricity, cause they are not the ones that are paying utility bills.
On the bars that are struggling like Summit, they have no other option to turn down the AC to save a few bucks, since the place lease is expiring toward the end of the year. They are not going to fix any broken A / C neither.
I have a feeling the land owner of the Summit / Casino have something up his sleeves. Look at how long Casino has been locked up? Once the Summit least is expired, I don't think we will see any bars there.

Otherwise, let the KBs die.As brother Mits already stated that's what the KB was and is all about, suggested Massage Parlor as cheaper alternative than spending several to thousands of dollars, just to get into her pants If you can find one that's willing without spending thousands just to get a fuck. I have to check out brother $% suggestion as a Naomi replacement. . one of these days. The bars will die as these wannabe mama's only know how to take and like the loaded crap game guys will play because it's the only game in town for most of them. When this generation dies out I think the bars will die with them a few (very few) will survive. The hey day of the Korean Bar as we know it has past. These young guys are different they don't spend. Not like us old futs. Even this old fut getting tired of this scene what a waste of time and money. Needed a change of pace why been going AMP, had to break this kim chee rut. Be safe and watch out for the men and women in blue.

Massage Parlor as cheaper alternative than spending several to thousands of dollars, just to get into her pants If you can find one that's willing without spending thousands just to get a fuck. That's the business model of the early AMPs; that's how they multiplied. Guys would go to the KBs and wonder why they wasting their time not getting poji ('Should just go pay for it instead of wasting my time".
All of your suggestions and comments are great. No matter what your thoughts are on this matter, you guys have openly contributed to a more modern business model of a KB and its personnel. The ideas presented show and suggest a hybrid model of a KB that caters to all customers similar to the original KB model of the 60-70's, LOL.
So maybe they need to go back to the basics with a few modern changes implemented from the comments and suggestions presented here. Nothing is perfect but that's what a business basically wants: foolish spending based on temptation (marketing).
Although Yokohama was basically an open Ho House and "stink," they knew what sold but in a crude way. Plenty guys went there to do their thing or just curious by word-of-mouth.
Drove by the old Yokohama location yesterday. Saw the sign HUSH. Can anyone tell me what that is? Or what's going on in that location now? Mahalo.

I cried the day it closed. To each his own but I don't miss that roach and rat trap too much, where else can you get a drink with either rat shit or roach shit in your drink? That's one of the main reasons why stopped going there, but if you miss the place well I know you weren't going there for the drinks. . most guy that went there are in the same boat. Oh! And did I mention the cockroach leg in the highball glass? Yuck!!
Well at least there is one person who misses Yokohama, but you can get the same shit at the viet bars for a higher price, there is always another venue in the wings to take their place, not so much anymore but the Viet bars are still here and it's your alternative. If you can handle the Vietnamese Women. The times change and you need to go with the flow or get passed by like anything in life. Be safe brother I but there are options, If you can still get them up and it's not cheap been going Empire AMP taste pf China, it is different when you have a 20 something all over your old fut body going for it, and you there for the ride. It gives new meaning to the hum drum daily Korean kim chee rut.
This just for your info, be safe guys and watch out for the gals and guys in blue, if you drinking.
P.S. I am not and Empire SPY! But I do respect a good business model, and a professional Mama, who runs a tight ship. This is the best AMP I have been to in recent years hands down. I am not afraid to state this fact either. I guess brother Idusixtyning, go to back page, body rubs, empire. These are real pictures of the women available now, no bull shit pictures from the internet but honestly real pictures of the women working. I would call and schedule an appointment though. She does screen her customers so just be prepared for that (one monger on this website almost killed one of her girls).

I miss Yokohama too. Also Bon Soirre, Magazine Girl, 501, Honolulu Action, French Caravan. Play was cheap, staff provided good service, good times and memories. No bad Karaoke or princess's with attitude that you have to buy drinks for the "privilege" of talking with them. If KB mamas want to survive, they need to change with the times. They need to provide incentive for the younger guys to go spend money. Need to make your bar like one of the ones mentioned earlier. Yes, the grandpas and lvbs will be unhappy with the competition, but they're the reason your bar's dying. Scare tactic, such as the comments about roaches and rats won't change that. I've seen far worse from princess KBGs; same with the drama stories about the AMPs; there are many news stories about psycho lvbs that hurt and kill their DKBG (Black Stallion, the Pearl City bar that had the molatov cocktail thrown in it, etc.).

It is basically talking to a brick wall. They have their business model and they will follow it to the KB grave. I stated this before when my generation dies out the korean bar will for the most part die with us. I see you like the strip clubs etc. Well to each his own. As far as horror stories this incident happened to one of Ivy's girls and she has never come back to Hawaii thanks to that black monger.
As far as being comfortable, I am and I am not ashamed to say it. Unlike a lot of other guys who lost their pension down the toilet mine stayed relatively intact I did loose. 20 cents on the dollar but for the most part my retirement portfolio stayed intact unlike a lot of other guys who saw their pension fund vanish over night, I do thank God for that and every morning I am able to get up to a new day and say a prayer to the 5 that didn't get up this morning (ave. Of deaths on Oahu). We take it for granted but it's his present to us each and every day. We do take a lot of things for granted.
I have a name for you but I am not about to start another run in not after those two trolls that almost got me banned (I have 3 infractions, but am still here because deep down they know I was trying to help that troll) one of them even posts here or on the Korean bar thread. Still adding his 2 cents. To each his own. I am entitled to my opinions as you are but as I stated you can go with the flow and become a grandpa, Lover Boy or not participate at all. Those are your 3 options what you are dreaming of will not happen anytime soon. They will stick to their business model because that's the only way they know how to and it will all go down hill. I think you should drink in Kalihi, because I am pretty sure a lot of bars there will survive (food, drinks).
Oh! By the way talking to these KBG's most of them tell me the young ones don't spend. Guess maybe they talking about you (or not). I am a self-proclaimed Lover Boy always have been probably always will to the grave but I enjoy and have what fun there is to be had now days and just go with the flow no sense banging your hear against the wall when nothing is going to change. If you remember all those places you not that young and closer to my age man, no sense dreaming on what should be just take it as for what it is and either go with the flow or not your choice. There is "NOTHING" that's going to change.
P.S. I have a lot of respect for Ivy mama because she does run a tight ship reminds me of Patty in the old Crystal Palace days. When she and Miki was the one two punch. Ivy reminds me of patty back then. The way she runs her girls. If you had these women running the bar and servicing the tables like in the old days man you would have a gold mine. With some poji as a side dish but then I am dreaming, like you aren't I, be safe bud and don't get too frustrated, no sense getting an ulcer over nothing. Like I said Kalihi still going be there after Kapiolani closes down. Be safe and breathe brother TF just breathe.

Yes, the grandpas and lvbs will be unhappy with the competition, but they're the reason your bar's dying This is true because the bar / bgs come to realize how easy it is to get customers to buy them drinks. Therefore, no need to do more when they know customers will buy them drinks anyway. That's how they got molded overtime to be like how they are now and have the "princessy" attitudes.
They need to provide incentive for the younger guys to go spend money Guys who never gone KBs feel they don't see any incentive by just sitting / talking to them. It's not like they're gaining some useful knowledge that they can benefit from by simply talking to them. If the BGS can converse at a level that's interesting / fun, than maybe the younger guys or new guys going bar wouldn't mind buying drinks.

Kaina. Its a bar mixed in with a Vape bar which draws most of the crowd. If you go to place where not to crowded then it isn't too bad just parking isn't the greatest either.
Get one KBG who "in it" so much for one machine that she disconnects and takes the power cord with her when she goes home so nobody can play the thing. Connects the cord only when she playing. That's pretty sad, or what!? Didn't believe it at first until actually witnessing the KBG taking the cord out from her bag and making the connect; also cleans the machine and surrounding area. She better increase her LVB base.

You're right, I didn't go there for drinking. Always drink beers straight from a fresh bottle in any KB. Yes, paid more for play and FS but at least they weren't like high volume AMP girls that do 5-10 guys a day. Remember, they also had the condo setup too. Always preferred Korean women for play and they had some quality girls there when it was running. Shoots, at one time they even had a nice local Japanese girl there for play. Just don't care for Viet women. Can't stand their accent and their hunger for money is too transparent. Don't forget, the Chinese were not a presence back then as it was more difficult to immigrate or obtain visas at the time. Yes, nowadays the Chinese are taking market share.

SO what this at Club Talent??The machine power cord KBG not at Talent. Go International before the 1 PM shift and witness the buggah put back the power cord for the machine (and do custodial for it and the table); it's the stand-alone machine near the wahine toilet. It's a sickness.
Another thing going on is the $2 happy hour and $4 regular hour prices happening (or going be happening soon). No wonder day shift getting more bodies and KBG action. Anyway, no more reason for justify the price increase except "slow like hell" and no can make money after the machines taken away. It's really not the time to be in any type of business; maybe monkey (AMP) or addictive (gambling, machine) businesses would thrive.
Wonder how the LVBs are doing under the circumstances?

That's how they got molded overtime to be like how they are now and have the "princessy" attitudes. That's right, Uks. Been like that for a while now and the KBG pride, ego, and arrogance still exists. Example: one K store opens and doing well. Guarans one nodda same kine K store going open right next to them and start one price war. Them two going undercut each other until both go out of business.
Different business from KB; same attitude.

Wonder how the LVBs are doing under the circumstances? This one has been going to Empire good change of pace still get the beer and the wahines albeit at a premium price but any LVB will tell you they drop at least 1-3 bills a night on their favorite KBG (well anyway speaking for myself) might as well get something for you troubles, at least there you are appreciated unlike at the bar. Where you just another number. Next!. LOL. It's been pretty stale and as brother JR said nice ones can become sharks because of the slow business but that's to be expected, they have rent / mortg. To pay like the rest of us so can't really blame them and it has been slow in the bars. I wonder why?
Like I said they not going wise up until the bar is burned to ashes around their feet. So just breathe and go with the flow. The passing of the KB well maybe the Chinese will step in considering the women avaliable maybe a model they might be able to work with. I think it's time as the Tourist from China far exceed the tourists from Japan. Time for some Chinese bars. What you guys think?

While there also saw this black guy come in buy 1 beer and proceed to take out $700 from the machine playing rich man poor man. International, Summit, Aka Business, Butterfly. Is there any hopes? I have seen Summit owner change bar name, bring in pool table and darts board, hire PT workers, business is still slow as hell. International is the same thing, I walked out of that place twice, there is no girls, no music, it is a depressing place to drink.
I am afraid when the rail construction hit down side, business would get even worse. Some Waipahu, Pearl City business owners are already complaining business down 20 percent, this morning newspaper said Flamingo Pearl City is closing due to rail project affecting business.

I hoped with the gambling machine raids at the entertainment centers, these would be gone, too.
Maybe KB owner / investors banking on rail construction and studying the route to turn one big windfall down the line. Invest now before the construction heads this way; other KBs affected by construction, yours not; your KB near transit station, riders thirsty before going home; your lease worth big ton. Your competitors get wiped out without you even trying. Worth the time to study and strategize, though.
I not saying that's what they doing, just supposing. Would be worth the risk if that's not your money to lose.

I no rub the noses of addicts into the ground; just observe and marvel at the reactions, consequences, and extent of what they'll do for their addiction (s). In the case of the "power cord KBG," and others like her, they no even care about nothing else except what's yanking their chain. I hoped with the gambling machine raids at the entertainment centers, these would be gone, too.Just new people came into fill the void, mostly Korean some locals running the machines now. The way it is although it will bring a whole new set of social problems we should just legalize gambling, at least like Ca, and some other states a lottery to help the education department. Provide food subsidy for those kids that don't have lunch money and school supplies for those who can't afford it. The Boyd Corp and the Vegas connection doesn't want that. Without the Hawaii suckers flying out several times a week it would really hurt their bottom line. And yeah I am one of those suckers. But when you think of all that money flowing out of the state every week to be deposited into another states economy, one dependent on tourism like ours, well. What can you say. Be safe guys, but we really should legalize gambling and outlaw cock fights. That's animal cruelty.

You know the saying "grease the tracks" and "scratch some politician's back"! It has always work since the mayor Jeremy Harris days, that's political reality in Hawaii!

The Property Owner is the one that's going to make out and they have been "investing" for years to make that rail come near their properties. I recall a city council guy got really mad when they changed the route to go to the airport rather than his district in Salt Lake. Hmmm yah think it was just cause he wanted to see a choo choo go by his house?

Gov. Ige recently signed an extension to the rail tax through 2027, with annual financial and economic reports from HART. Now it's "anything goes" with this continuance of a money-sucking project that going provide beau coup bucks for mismanagement and graft (not that it will happen, haha). Now some buggahs can use monies siphoned from the rail to open side dummy businesses like medical marijuana dispenseries, finance political campaigns, repay public and private sector upper-management executives for their "cooperation" in the past, hookers, KBGs, Vegas trips, etc. Now they can really party and bust one move.

No one will go to jail because the entire system of cronysim of the demoncrats have been going on for more than 40 years. School kids are going hungry while DOE executives are milking the system on phony contracts to benefit themselves just like rail and State contracts. I know personally of a IT private contractor hired by the State to do a study on the work efficency and concluded that 40% of the time, State employees from blue to white collar executives are spending time away from work related activities to include social media like Facebook and Yahoo! So that means if you fire 40% of State employees today, the State will still run because 40% of time they are basically doing NOTHING. There is one particular case in which a State female staff worker DID NOT add a single word on screen shot documents she pasted on her desktop for more than 47 days! He was told to "massage" the data so that State bosses can "approve", he declined and the report was "deleted" after taxpayers paid for it! days
In light of the impending and uncertain future along the KB rail corridor (Waipahu, Pearl City, Kalihi, Kapiolani, Ala Moana) it would behoove KBGs to get to an education and career change ASAP. At this moment anything can happen to HART's plans (routes, destinations, acquisitions, obstacles) and there will probably be breaking news in the near future due to the state tax extension and possible federal interventions to the finances and economics of this project; everybody wants to get paid.
So what going happen to the KB landscape and its long history here? Anybody's guess is as good as any. Personally, I going miss the KBs because of the social gathering, drama, humor, ridiculousness, arguing, laughter, etc. I also not going miss the KBs due to its recent degradation of service, manners, safety, and health.

Anyway, the scuttlebutt is that on August 1st or thereabouts, the Kapiolani KBs going conspire to all charge $3 happy hour /$4 regular nights; may have some variations of that but basically 3/4, 2/4. Not exact science because we dealing with some KBGs who "not always home. ".
The "beginning of the end" starts from the 08/01 price changes, IMO. Personally speaking, this is going to affect my bottom line because I getting charged 50% more ($2 X 150% = $3); or paying for 3 beers in order to get 2 beers. Whatever math is used, up to you, but no criticize mine, LOL.
Neko prices will probably follow suit; move to $30 ($60 if they drink the half-glass nekos like they've been doing). Tack on rising food, gas, utilities (sewer / water, phone, cable, gas, electric), homeowners insurance, etc. , and we've got a real party happening here.
How many guys will still maintain the same KB habits as now if there are changes as noted above? Inquiring minds want to know.

International was so empty I couldn't believe it. Talent was closed. Twilight dead. Only 74 and EG seemed to be doing ok. A 60 dollar drink is not happening even if I'm getting blown LOL. The beer price is going to go up inevitably.
Neko prices will probably follow suit; move to $30.They need to learn about the upside-down parabola; then they should realize they are Way past the peak and need to go back the other way. They can raise prices to make more money, but when volume disappears they don't get nuthin.
A hostess in Rock Za wanted $30 non-alcohol and $40 for alcohol, but looked a little surprised when I asked what happened to 20. Guess she thought I was a noob.

Will be saving me some money.Better go local bar where drinks are $10 for full shots and full size beer for chicks, not the tea or bullshit watered down shit for $20. Time not to buy them anything these KBG better learn HJ or BJ in parking lot to subliment their income.

Will be saving me some money. It's not that I go out a lot but enough, and I will probably dong the bartender the $20 instead of buying her a $30 neko who ever does this first going take a major hit in sales and customer retention. The strip clubs you can see, but a regular KB? That would put one of the final nails in the coffin. The younger guys not going bite a few will I am sure but the majority are too smart for this price increase they just going drink Kalihi or local bar with the older wahines met one at Halona's today while waiting for lunch order in her day she must have been a really pretty lady but she tended bar and took care her customers unlike the other one on weekdays. Wish I could remember her name. Getting old and no can remember. Was it Nikki? Good bartender.
I thought no more this kind LVB anymore but was wrong, wrong, wrong. They arrive together to visit friends at one KB and look like one good arrangement but something wrong (she wearing dark glasses inside the KB and too lovey-dovey with her beau). Sure enough, it started with the KBG telling the guy to buy nekos, pay tab with credit card ($300), pay rest with cash ($120), like order more pups (get six plates, not even half-eaten), flirt with another customer when LVB went outside to smoke, detailed examination of the tab, make difficult when LVB no like spend anymore, play hardball when he like leave, etc.
It ended with mini squabble (major one later, guarans) and exit, stage right. Skank KBG was on her stage making one scene and making ass for both of them; she enjoyed establishing dominance.
Thought this kind infantile display ended a long time ago but must be in the genes.

He should have gone to AMP. Would have been cheaper.Hardcore LVBS don't think sex and get physical right away. They need the mental / emotional feeling first. You could tell a guy seeking a gf / companionship to go bang a random chick, he's not going to jump on it until he gets to know her first and be comfortable with her. That feeling of liking / loving the girl is higher on the list than getting physical with a female they hardly know.
The boto no can get stiff until there's some liking / feeling for the girl first.

The boto no can get stiff until there's some liking / feeling for the girl first.I pretty much agree with brother UE, except the expensive part is the mental / emptional feelings this can get expensive. Real expensive but not all the time. If you have a hot smoking KBG and the opportunity arises then I would go for it emotions or not. I don't think you have refused an opportunity for a boner and neither have I. But each LVB to his own devices. I generally agree with you 100% been there done that and paid the price that can be a roller coaster ride of a lifetime. A very expensive one, What say you brother BA (haven't seen any posts for awhile) care to add your expert advice. ?
He should have gone to AMP. Would have been cheaper. That's the problem with hardcore LVBs: they no can tell the difference between reality and KBG character actresses, refuse to accept that their DreamKBG is playing them, and no can be their own man. Hardcore anything no good, IMO.
BTW, now the machine cord KBG, after reinstalling the power cord, puts a towel over the machine, ala some Las Vegas casino crap table protocol. This effectively reserves the machine and precludes anyone from violating her "baby" while she working behind the bar.
Talent drink specials include $1 for those baby (8 oz. ?) bottle beers; pretty good deal but don't know what brand. The potential next KBG owner (Jin? Yujin?) seems behaviorally peculiar and a flake. Ah, the wonderful world of the KBs.

When you young, can jump any kind wahine that look good at the moment. In fact, I not young but still feel / think like jump any wahine that still look good, LOL. The less I know about her the better because get plenty out there to try especially the AMP & KB varieties (other kind OK, of course).
But for the hardcore LVBs who missing that intimacy in their personal lives they looking for it in the worse places and asking for trouble by being blinded by any wahine.

They would rather AMP-out in another state, county, or freelance (some already doing Indy under the guise of a legit home-based business) to save face. Compile the slow business with gambling, drugs, and other addictive whatnots and we've a KBG-on-the-run; desperate conditions require desperate measures.
Seriously, going get KBGs who going make money no matter what and certain KBs that going be busy. Name them with a brief explanation (and no use the same, boring stuff we already know); this one hard one.

Main thing you don't get too engrossed in a BG where you do something stupid. You got kbs for the in love feeling, AMPs to go nut and strip bars to get visually aroused.

I though she was in her 20's but actually she 30. Here for the Kala, and the promise of it. I spoke to the guys they said of the 4 new girls she probably the nicest. She does drink at a medium pace (she has learned that already). My friend was sitting with Mia pretty face and drinks at moderate speed. Interacts well with us locals. The other two are taller but forgot their names but it was a steady crowd last night.
I sat with tequila last night after channel and if you give her a couple of Tequilas man she changes personality, nice young lady though but not really my type. The guys told me she was at Talent but I don't remember her I remember having dinner with my lady friend and running into her without her makeup on, her roommate is a bartender there at Splash so I knew her room mate. It was night and day with and without makeup. Anyway wrapped it up early (midnight) and headed home first time didn't see any blue lights around when head home be safe and watch out for the guys in blue.

Stopped by Splash, to buy this lady a thank you drink for trying to help this pabo. I guess she took a rare night off as she is usually always there. I guess there will be other days. I left after one place was slow for Sunday but there were women available and even mama Ellie was in, headed to 74 place was full booths and bar were all filled and my favorite bartender had some customers as usual so was heading out but ran into brother Chibi was just hanging out. I was advised Tiff was at camelot so headed up there again she was off saw the former bartender who used to work at 74 I remember her because she had a older customer who was very possessive of her for the life of me can't remember her name but just showed face ve Tiff off and although had other women available called it an early night. I thought of stopping at 904 on the way home but I have an early morning Monday anyway. A pretty boring night all around should have gone to the AMP. Nah! Was not a regular night just went out to buy that lady a drink then head home. All good, very cheap night. For me anyway.

Total Noob.
Can someone please give me a run down on how kbar works and what I should do there. I'm taking a friend to a kbar but it's our first time so we don't want to look like idiots.
I would start on this thread and work my way back, if you too lazy to do that like brother are said learn the hard way (up to you no easy way because something work for some and the same doesn't work for others. I would PM Oldee for some hints he is the master of the KB. He at least an give you some tips to make your money / budget last a little longer. The money going either way these sharks can smell new meat / blood in the water. LOL. We all went thru it and some of us still are.
One hint from me, 1st time go on scouting mission. Get two chairs on the bar no need be together (like Blackjack one can be on 1st base the other on third base) but try to sit as near as you can to the bar station where the women come to get their drinks. You can see the eye candy available and make a note (ask the barback what wahine's name is, buy the barback a $10 drink) The $10 is a small investment for information since a Neko is $20 and up. The popular one's are going to be high maintenance and you will be buying neko's all night so bring enough kala accordingly. I would bring cash and not run a tab unless you know the bartender or are a regular there. NEVER spend more than you can afford to throw away, this is adult entertainment and that is all it is. DO NOT fall in love with one of these women as most are damaged goods already with a history. There are working and you are in their employers shop their job is to make the house money and make money that is all they are there for to make money never forget that. The more drinks they can get from you the more they make and the more you labeled as 1 drink, 2, drink or total pabo. Whatever though have fun if you can't have fun then no sense going.
The three or four bars would suggest would be park at 74 and valet park or find parking on the street now days not so busy so should have street parking. I would start at 74 since small bar get there before eight and watch the women come in. I would then head up the street and stop in at Camelot try getting a seat on the bar if not the one who has the incentive to come up and show you to the table (doesn't matter if she good looking or not she has the hustle to serve strangers take care of her) is the one you take care of since she going be serving the table (may cost you a neko) ask her for what your friend wants Japanese, Chinese, korean. Whatever (there are no nice girls in the bar, and don't let their innocent looks fool you) the sob stories used to be standard now days it's their business proposals especially the ones from Korea. These women are no slouches.
Then head up to Splash there is a good variety of women there Ellie has some good girls working for her but again money talks, get a seat on the bar if you can or if not again whoever comes up to strangers and seats you and take your drink order. The one I sat with Channel is ok but she learning fast and does drink moderately. Mia has a pretty face and you may like her, have a few there and then head back down to Evergreen since they open till 4 AM I would finish up the night there but get there well before 2 AM when everyone else closes. It can get real crowded depends on the night but after 2 is when they make their money. The scouting mission should take up your night, after you can compare notes and you probably going end up wanting to go to two different bars nothing wrong like that. To each his own.
To minimize your expenses I would ask Oldee for some tips, I am a hardcore lover boy but hey Oldee I leave $1 tip now drink only. LOL. See I learned something. You guys should PM the master and get some money saving tips from him, take care, be safe, and have a good time. That's the bottom line if you stress out about if the wahine like you or not. Wewll she doesn't in the bar it's her job pure plain and simple so go in with that idea get what you can for as little as possible, Oldee is really good at this.

The bartenders at Camelot (Yunha, Tiffany), Talent (Hemhi, Hana, Gina, Charlie), Twilight (Jennifer), and International (Sara) have been reviving the KB hospitality (a little) of the past by showing off their cooking and customer appreciation skills. Kapiolani KBGs have slowly realized that they got to invest a little to make money; that it's not a one way street anymore especially when age and drinking-for-a-living takes its toll.
Some Kapiolani KBGs are finally trying to find a way to make money the old fashioned way: service and hospitality. Not easy to make money like before, especially when day shift receipts are more than night shift totals and you got to shutdown at 9 PM. Daytime is the new moneymaker: count your lucky stars and don't blow it, ajummas.

Observed is the KB'S couple of guys spending a lot of money. Thru the KBG wireless, they easily spend close to $5,000 a night and it is sometimes st least couple nights a week. Do the math. These guys. Fairly young compared to me, are loaded. Here I am not wanting to buy $30 or $40 nekos. The girls they are spending their money on are mostly aujima's. And it is not only them, I have observed another person buying drinks for several KBG' s at a time. Minimum amount was at least $500 - and this was before I left. So I don't know how much more he spent. Morale of the story. TEHO I guess.
These guys make the KBG's day and then some! No wonder the KB' are surviving. "Who are these guys".

How do they get that kinda $$.Pretty suspicious to me and many others but better no make judgment and let it play out. . Last time I heard of spending like this was during the Ewa Villages investigation of 20 years ago. Mel K. Stole approx. $10-11 M from the project from various sources using dummy corps. And relatives; currently spending life sentence in jail. Bought a VB and BMW for VBG (still in operation), LV $700 K on casino card (duh), $5-7 K KB karaoke room, etc. ; his salary as manager of the project was $56 K. Too obvious, show off, and reckless.
In fact, under the current monetary conditions, the guys are cheap compared to the lifer.

Like Mits says, better not to judge or assume, but independent businessmen and gamblers are heavy spenders. As long as enforcers don't come looking for them, because then it's dangerous for everyone like that night years ago at the old Moonflower.
When the girl whines about how I don't love her because I won't blow big bucks on her, no way am I going to try to compete :)

She is working at a town bar now, in her 40's, give or take a few years, still very sexy and good looking for her age. She is a sharks hunter where she works, always approach loaded dudes. I think she is going to be a good AMP owner cause she knows how to lure in the sharks. She said I would be the first to know, but would not let me in as customer cause I always want freebie.

There are 4 new faces, came in this past Tuesday. Those of you that clamor for new blood should check out these new faces while they are still new. It was reasonably busy for a Saturday. The booths were busy, and saw few women waiting for customers. It seemed like everyone was making money. It seems like a good night for the bar.

What bar is this?If you can get down there by Wednesday, Ellie's cousin is here for a short while and she can sing. There is a good variety of women and Ashley and Eliie are taking an active part in the bar. It is a good mix and the usual Korean and local customers. OH! And brother K69 it really is her cousin (s) 2 are here one is a Pro type singer in Korea. So yeah only K-songs.

Since she's still working at the bar, luring in sharks and making good money. Revealing her name would hamper her business. Just a little hint, she is driving a $70 k luxury car, high end princess without a doubt. She gives me freebie now and then, maybe it is my Brad looks and a live cock turn her on. Get to cum in her pussy and mouth. The whole nine yards. She said if she is the AMP owner one day, she would not let me in cause all I want is freebie.
Would you pm me the name of this matured kbg? Where does she work?.

Ownership change completed; new carpet installed; ice machine broke again. Bartender with big teats and nipples boarding the ship soon as braless bartender; attractive 40's veteran KBG named Ruby (although Connie at Kalihi 904 is preferred for overall physical appearance, bar demeanor, and personality). She looks capable of being top gun in lower Kapiolani day shift hours; give it a chance before judgment.
Old owner still hanging around and making recon; adding more criticism of her cuckoo personality. The place is slowly making a comeback as the top spot for the am Boys of Summer.

Suji can sing & dance but bedtime escapades not so much. Don't ask me about the "Fox". I don't kiss and tell folks. However I will tell you this. I'm no BradArmPitt I'm some Kpopstar they say. Went to Summit one night, saw they painted the kapiolani side Casino door bright yellow. Why they need a Karaoke bar over there when next door Summit has a Karaoke system. Don't think they will last too long.

The owner is the restaurant across the street, "Million Yakiniku".Their lease listed as of a week ago was only $3000 per month. Dirt cheap for the area. The catch? Building will be broken down in January 2017. Cheap rent and short term. Karaoke machines, televisions and sound will probably be on consignment so the possibility of making money quickly exists.

The day crowd goes for the cheap beer (loss leader) for the 1st few months, then the food. The good thing associated with the Restaurant can combine the possible food costs with both operations. It depends on what the owners willing to put out. The relatively cheap rent combined with potential F & be sales they should make a small profit. This if they catering to the local clientele. If they cater to the Chinese crowd, well that is another story, regardless I do wish the new owners the best of luck in their new business.

The clientele would be our fairly significant young Korean / American community. NOT us local hostess bar customers. There are many smaller Korean karaoke bar / restaurant in the Kapiolani area, most all of which are doing a great business. You can find them full of KBG's on their day off enjoying a night with other girl friends or their "real" boyfriends. One thing most of these existing Korean karaoke bars have in common is several private rooms which at present Casino lacks. Although it wouldn't take much to create more within the current footprint of Casino. And I think the extended Million restaurant family has the finances and business acumen to make it happen. (unless they give it over to one of the younger male members of the family to play with and chase ladies).

Bar Massage.
Been noticing a lot of girls giving guys massages on the shoulders and back recently. Just wondering, who is everyone's favorite for bar massages? What I like about the concept is the guy getting the girl to work for her drinks. Good job fellas!
Be safe brothers.
I guess these young ladies now days need to realize they may be here to rip and tear their way through their 90 day visit but they need to be trained the right way. I have always broken in the new girls this way Sophie was one as well as Channel. YMMV with each wahine but if they have older parents who they massaged back in Korea then you usually have it made in the shade. It's better than spending a couple of dollars and not getting anything for your troubles and money. Except blue balls. These young ones come with the impression they going be making easy money, but they need to know locals are not as naive as they think. In this small way they know they going have to work for their money like in the office back in Korea. Then again your Neko maybe only 5 minutes of a half ass massage but better than nothing. Which is what you may usually get.
Naomi 2 (not the bartender) gave a good massage the best I have had for awhile in any bar. I really wish she would come back to work but then when she is ready. I haven't seen her in awhile but Sophie was getting decent in that department as well. From when she started. Channel should be back in Korea but she was going through the motions. At least she tried. BA thoughts?, Brother John?

Girls sometimes assume that if they massage its an automatic nekohana for them. I make them work for it. Long massage that's good gets them a drink. Long massage but junk, take a walk and better luck next time. You'd be surprised how much you can get once you put your foot down. Yes money talks but so does making sure they know who's the boss. All the recent talks about spending money to get play makes me laugh. Yes its easier that way but its a hell of a lot more fun to get play for cheap. Not just from the granny's either. I'm ugly and old but I surprise myself sometimes. One failed marriage to a bar girl a half dozen relationships with KBGs will teach you a lot. Lol

Be safe brothers.Well, we all at that stage in one way shape or form. You are the silver fox. As far as looks don't cut yourself, get some real winners and they aren't old either but to each his own. It is important to set the ground rules and to stick to them other wise these young ones try to walk all over you. I agree the best is play for cheap or cheap thrills, in this I believe you and Oldee excel. The other senior members who have been around a few years also are in this category. Well most of them.
I guess I am easy on the neko's but after all these years I don't waste as much as I used to. Although I do spend within limits. I believe humble pie like you is the best because no matter what, like in life, no matter how much you think you have always going be someone with more. That's just life. It's the young and not so young guys that try to show off are the ones getting ripped and torn to shreds. There are always women that do take out and after all these years they are identifiable. It's just a matter of pricing. I find myself getting picky in my old age, but BA if Naomi 2 returns to work (and she doesn't really have to as she has her own money) I will be there. Count on it.
Be safe and watch out for the guys in blue.

Be safe brothers. That's how the 70-year-olds used to do it in the Korean strip bars back in the day; break right into an awesome shoulder massage then ask for a drink. It was the only way they could get business in a place with young sexy Korean hoochies.
Vicky of Royal used to be a hostess and was very aggressive. She would massage other girls' customers if the girl wasn't sitting with him and snag men that way. I liked her massage (with roaming) so when she went indie I was there! :)

Went Meg's for breakfast today and check for Happy Times location. Parking could be a problem as a few businesses and customers use that busy area; weekend and evening probably more bettah. Used to go there when was one Chinese bar; CBGs from Formosa (by old Spots; now Cleopatra?) when try entry into the water business with one small place. Anyway, looks good.

Going be wild as the posting info generated here becomes reality (or not). Probably going be between 904 (kangaroo hop), Spotlight (pupu stop), or old Chetation (to accommodate us heavy hitters, LOL). Any other suggestions and inquiries are welcome as I will just make and take the experience (and meetings, if any) lightly, anyway.

Some people don't care if the kbg's are fugly or if they get sloppy seconds. Only that they're cheap.Neither interpretation is correct. KBG have overinflated sense of the value of thei pussy, which LVBs feed into. AMP girls are about the same age and looks; they are professionals. KBG is amateur. Professionals should be paid more than amateurs. FS in bar should be about $120 or less, or not worth it. That's what's meant by cheap play.

That's what's meant by cheap play.Good to see you posting on this thread, used to see you on the E thread. But I agree and Oldee would probably agree too KBG's are over priced. They really over value their female organs much more so than a professional. They make no bones about giving the impression they like you or love you "HONEY" their job is to get under your skin and get us to like, love them versus a Professional who you have for an hour; you are their one hour boyfriend, lover, SO whatever you want them to be. This for them helps secure your return visit. The KBG depends on your feelings and emotions for them and that is their job. The KB for most of us is a diversion of the daily humdrum of life or a place to kill time, get of the house whatever. IT is a distraction, to life's problems.
Cheap play brother T has never been in the vocabulary I am a hardcore LVB and have paid hate to say premium pricing for a lot of my past encounters. It is all relative the Korean Bar is not a hobby for guys on a budget, it is an expensive hobby and with these women coming in from Korea now even more so. FS for $120 maybe in Kalihi I don't think that will cut it, down in Kapiolani but then again you may get lucky. It depends how much the KBG need the $ be safe and watch out for the guys and gals in blue.
P.S. Where you hanging now, PM me been reading about Happiness and Rejuve any women like the ones we had at E?

Cavemen like me get quoted exorbitant prices (300 for one bottle of soju, 500 to 1000 for champagne) just for starters. What happened to the 200 champagne? "No mo, onny 500 and up, mama say".
As one girl put it when describing some guy mama stuck her with, "It's not that I think I'm worth it; I just donwanna go room with ugly man, so I charge too much".

I was also quoted $500 for champagne, $300 for Soju by one of the girls at Summit, she said it is standard these days. On a bottle of $300 Soju, Mama keep $125 and she Keep $175. The girl told me she gets to keep more if I buy her 15 nekos instead. I don't know what she meant.
There is no such thing as $200 champagne anymore. I don't think you can find a place in town charge less than $400 for champagne.

She was a good and seasoned hostess too bad she retired. I found her replacement but it is not the same, the touch is different. The other reason why it's slow and you can ask any mama it's because these young guys (not all of you) just don't spend. I guess the old pabo's like you and I are the guys that hold up the bars, but if you look at the type of guys going to the bars it's us old goats (to coin a phrase) and who's spending and in the rooms us and the Koreans that may or may not pay their tabs. LOL. At least with us we pay our tabs. Anyway guys be safe and watch out for the guys in blue.
Mama likes room customers girls like table customers.Agreed, mama's like the room customers higher price point on the liquor served. The trouble is when it comes to the end of the night and time to pay these hobo's all no more money, till one grudgingly takes out his card and pays and the next day disputes his charge with his bank. The girls don't get paid their commission and the house is out on the liquor and food. This happens time and time again and greed is the motivation but it is what it is and not our business. AT least at the table the hostess knows she going get her commission and not get stiffed by a korean wannabe show off. This is the reason why the women do not like Korean customers well one of them anyway. The other interesting thing depending on whose customer it was the Hostess may and usually gets tagged holding the tab. The opposite Korean adage "he buys and she pays". LOL. It is not a laughing matter for the hostess but that is another reason why these women don't like Korean men. The locals are easy meat for them and compared to the Korean men treat them like the ladies they are as a person not a thing like in Korea. Be safe and watch out for the guys in blue.

In spite of all their bad points, the girls won't leave their countrymen for greener locals. Conversely, a lot of paying locals get their time suddenly cut short when Korean customers show up and the girls are ordered to sit there. Waste time and money.
Then the girl txts her LVBs to come see her, but it's too late. Lose money for them both ways.
True, the girls won't leave their countrymen for greener locals. No matter what, they like one K baby; not one foreigner kine. The Ks working in the bar can have, and deserve, each other for all I care. Yeah, there are exceptions to the rule but take care of 'number one' first (KBGs are good actresses).

And that is relative to the bar you talking about. These younger girls coming from Korea, are a good example they don't want a boyfriend here unless they plan to come back in the future even at that the guy has to be a sap to wait for the wahine. A child not even in the plan unless they looking for a green card and it's easier to get a hole on the mainland and another state that does not have a good enforcement team with the INS as Hawaii does (guess they get a lot of practice).
Above all Korean number one locals number? Well we down there somewhere. LOL. Not funny but we the old guys supporting their life style and they making money off of us. You also right you can spend on the wahiine all night but when the call comes from mama come serve these Korean customers. Not even I'll be back they just take off after giving a frown about having to serve these Korean men who treat them as chattel. Korean mentality you guys go figure. I gave up a long time ago besides they wahines as well.

15 for her 5 for house unless real alcohol more for the house.House also takes an additional dollar per nekohana if drink is on tab.
House also takes an additional dollar per nekohana if drink is on tab.Trying for squeeze every penny out of dwindling sales. What the justification for taking the dollar? Because on one tab? Come on, that's not fixing the problem (s).
One of the major problems is the KBGs mouthing-off and acting like they know everything; typical of mental midgets, LOL.
House also takes an additional dollar per nekohana if drink is on tab.Just chiming in. Cave dwelling can be relaxing tho. I've been "taxed" as I would call it as bartendresses would at times put food costs on my tab. The thing is I frequent places where I'm comfortable and throughout those times I never ever ordered food. I'm not much of an eater while I'm drinking but I'm happy when they take care of my friends even though a couple of them are cheapassfuckers. I hate cheapassfuckers! So a couple of times I found food items on my tab and asked the bartender what's up with this. Not naming the place or the woman, "Oh your friends ate" me, you did ask them if you want pupu's right? Me, so why is shit on my tab? We didn't order you asked so WTF? I call for mama politely ofcourse. Ask her how come you guys "taxing" me for house pupu's? Kaput. Mama not so happy with the woman as she knows that's not my style. Never once did I come across additional $ for neko's on my tab atleast not yet. If that happens I will crack some skulls politely ofcourse. Okay back to my cave.

Be safe guys and watch out for the guys and gals in blue.I tried to meet this new girl Haru this past Saturday but you 3 guys were hovering around her like bee's to honey or flies to S $% I must admit I was pre-occupied but man give an old goat a chance. I could see she was new as when the ladies sang happy birthday to Ashley she was still sitting on the bar while everyone else I could see was there singing Happy BD. She did look fine in black from afar. Anyway she just arrived so there is some time. The one I was worried about ended up at Camelot so that is fine with me. Things do work itself out. Anyway be safe and watch out for the guys and girls in blue.

J, is Haru Korean or Japanese?LOL. I have no idea why Koreans like Japanese names, shame, I guess but she is Korean. Mama gave her that name. But same old, same old. OH! Splash now has Pizza on the menu but $20 a pie. Guess better than $26 that is a no sale at that price.
J, is Haru Korean or Japanese?Haru is Korean.
Went to Summit W and Th. Get Gina "the Lips" bartending, Anna cooking, Sylvia vulturing, and one nodda one I don't know. It's mellow (slow) there and these ajummas were the "it" KBGs of the past; in fact, some younger guys still looking at Gina's lips in a lascivious manner; Anna still get LVBs go see her; Sylvia get OK bod, lips, and sexuality.
Talent / Crystal get nothing; two old KBGs (one machine room hostess and other one the bar spy / big mouth) and minor dramas, good for a laugh or two. Get lots regular bar counter drinkers and characters galore.
74 same thing but waiting for Bora come back from Korea with her new puppies; hope they bring in as much as (or more than) she paying for them, LOL. No forget give Jerome business at Saigon Palace.
Will be checking out Kalihi (Poochie, Sena, Green Tee Jennifer, The 25, etc.) and more of Kapiolani (Haru, Splash, Camelot because it's comfortable there, and the rest). This is a busy thread.

.Heard she went back because of a sick family member, not enhancements but guess will have to check it out when she returns. As far as Camelot I like the women there for the most part with a few exceptions but staying away for now. I don't like the game room upstairs because the parking lot always full and they always double parked. Taking up space that would normally be open for the bars, anyway we'll see how long that lasts. As far as Haru she is new hopefully by the time you sit with her she won't be spoiled but then the successful ones are always fast learners. We all know that be safe guys and "GO BOWS" heart says bows but betting side says Bulldogs. Watch out for the guys and girls in blue.

Reason for me is that if get trouble upstairs, no like them seek refuge in Camelot if I there and get confrontation or worse. Pains.
You know Haru going catch on and be one full-blown KBG within one month with all the LVBs spoiling her okole. I no think she that innocent anyway, LOL.
$300 for non alcohol, $400 for Mums or equivalent; $1000 for Dom; $2000 for Crystal; $200 for soju.I no see much of the aforementioned being sold except for maybe one soju. Guessing poji is at one premium now? Amazing, LOL. What KGBs would be considered worth the expense and trouble; and why?

Thought only me but they walk into the bar like they own the place and yes they dong the bartenders for watching their car but that is not the point they should be parking at HMSA or Walmart and walking over. The parking situation is really tight now someone should complain and bust these guys. Better yet and this will open a can of worms but legalize gambling here in Hawaii it goes on anyway just go to any bar.
One month? Nah! I think sooner than that since they are working more now then before (Sundays) guess now requirement since complained no girls on Sundays or slow days they only here for 90 days should be working 7 days if they serious about making money. The last group think they leaving about the 17th or so so may get additional ones in maybe not will advise be safe guys and watch out for the guys in Blue. Can anyone remember when UH won a Homecoming game? What 3 years ago? More?? Since Chow came. He one really nice guy but the honeymoon is over even if I loose hope UH pulls it off tonight. Good luck bows!

The Camelot and neighbor always seem to have a pakalolo odor in the air and there are to many stabbings and assaults to make it comfortable for me but I only go out at night, might be different during the day.

"No one like meet them" who would? Sylvia is pushing 60's. The other 3 Summit ladies aren't spring chicken either. The place is mellow cause hardly anyone go there anymore.

The parking getting worse, day and night; the safety and health factors going drive business away from Camelot. Homecoming was as usual for football. Lose again. LVBs going spoil one nodda one rotten. What's this place coming to, LOL?Any one who has been to Camelot in the past weeks is no doubt aware of the Game Room action happening on the 2nd floor. For me it is not only the parking problem that it is creating but also the presence of all kinds of unsavory types. I usually go to Camelot in the late afternoon early evening so can't comment on what happens later in the night. It's disconcerting to note when I walk from parking at Walmart that many of the parked cars have people just hanging in them. Waiting for what who knows. This past week at about 7 pm while sitting at the bar, two different groups of people came in with stolen goods to try to sell to the girls. One had stolen steaks to sell to kitchen Mama. The big body security stopped by and claimed a couple free beers from the intimidated bartender. I seem to recall that there has been game room action at this same location in the past. Not sure. Personally for me it's the parking hassle but as Mits said there are also the health and safety factors. The last thing we need is some dangerous incident in the parking lot. I am very naïve in these matters. I have put in a complaint anonymously with Crime Stoppers. I seriously doubt this will result in any timely action. I also imagine that Vice is probably already aware of this situation. I urge any of you with knowledge in this type of situation or have contacts with Vice and / or Attorney General's office to make the situation known. Mahalo.

There always was something going on upstairs, or the intermediate potential. Whoever took that lease should have known better.

$300 for non alcohol, $400 for Mums or equivalent.
$1000 for Dom.
$2000 for Crystal.
And $200 for soju. The next time they ask for champagne, ask them how much for sex at their place. Tell them they can keep all the commission, otherwise you'll go to a massage parlor and get it for $200. Then smile and wink.

I see this happening at Evergreen when Nancy runs a tab for the guys in the room. She tacks on 3-5 more drinks for the popular girl, a few for herself and 1-2 for the other remora. She is a fat, ugly, slimeball.
I have seen the waiters do that too there.
Mimi mama is one of the greediest mama's around, when the girls tell you to buy her a drink, she never reciprocates.

These 90 day wonders also usually stay at mama's house so may have to get a hotel room usually parking is $10 at Pagoda or $20 at AlaMoana. LOL. AlaMoana local rate is $137. Or was anyway FYI. I'm not handsome like you guys though.
Good suggestions, but I can remember that bar mistreating customers in one way or another over the years. What goes around comes around. There always was something going on upstairs, or the intermediate potential. Whoever took that lease should have known better. It does go and come around, true that. In fact, that whole area (Walmart, McD, Meadowgold, 3-plex) must be haunted because it's been a troublesome spot for years (gambling, violence, drugs, illegal ops) but no serious attempts to clean it up. Used to have surveillance vans and personnel; probably no can nail whomevers due to legal expertise by the criminals and their attys, IMO and LOL. Maybe smarter to stay away from mid-Sheridan but had same kind problems with TripleD, Summit, and Talent (manager Nicole got punched in the face) in the past, too, in lower Sheridan.

Mimi mama is one of the greediest mama's around, when the girls tell you to buy her a drink, she never reciprocates.Totally agree and seen the same at Evergreen. Lady pulls a girl just to get herself some drinks. The poor guy that happened to be sitting with the girl is left in the dark, whether he bought her one drink or ten before getting the pull. Also, try asking some of the akamai ones where the food came from that she brings out.

I went to Mammamias for the first time. It was so nice and clean. It was very busy. The mamma found me a seat at the bar. The beer is $2 all day and night. The bartender was very friendly and gave great service. The KBG from the mainland are so good looking. I enjoyed myself so much. I will go back again.

Sheridan Formerly Owned by Judge.
http://archives.starbulletin.com/2000/07/06/news/story2.htmlI guess the new owner didn't see this report or maybe he did anyway there are still the bars there and the gambling room maybe closed or gone discreet since I don't see too many cars double parked anymore. Who cares, I was going for the daytime bartender there but since she no longer daytime then no reason to go and fight the traffic jam there, lot is always pretty much full. Always.
Be safe guys over the thanksgiving weekend and watch out for the guys and gals in blue. Also have your current paperwork up to date saves you going to court to prove POI. That takes up your morning. LOL. But better than DUI.
I guess the wet weather put a damper on the crowd last night, but it was a good crowd before the holiday, there are a few new faces and a couple of old ones. The crowd was steady and the ratio was just right although the guys on the bar might have felt a little lonely maybe at most 2 open tables at various times. The women that came to work made some money and there was a birthday celebration. Anyway have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! Reminder Splash is closed today. Will be open tomorrow (Friday). Man Yuri looked killers in that dress last night. She is one pretty wahine and she knows it. Be safe guys and watch out for the guys and gals in blue if driving today.
I got out late, but still had a good crowd and all the booths were busy. One of the mama's was sick but the girls were all making their neko's the ones that were working that is, asked about the new girls friend said they took off. TOOK OFF? On a Saturday night? Well these new ones have their own business plan. You go figure, I met one that needs the money and ran into some guys haven't seen in awhile, quiet night, and finally met someone maybe worth spending some on. Or not you guys know how that is. It's all in the way you play your game. And your budget. LOL. Be safe guys and watch out for the guys and gals in blue.

They are not hardened money grabbers / pros and are just greatful for seeing all this kala come at them with all this sex.
I guess Saturday is Saturday it was busy and steady but not full. Had a good crowd and mama brought a new girl for me to meet Korean but for you Japanese speakers she speaks the language well. Her english is passable and she uses the translator I want to say her name is Mia but I know that's not right she does sing and has been there now 5 days so get her before she gets spoiled. She already has a lover boy following her around see how long that lasts before his wad diminishes, was fine till he came in then bye, bye you guys know how that goes just glad damage was reasonable. Maybe why can't remember her name but you guys that like new ones go for it will try to find out her name but that LVB got her her first night working she was office worker before and in her early 30's FYI. Slim build short shoulder length hair average looks, just so her LVB not around you'll do ok. Be safe and keep an eye out for you know who. LOL. Happy holidays guys and ladies.
P.S. Yuri was behind the bar. That was a surprise and she was breaking a sweat first time. LOL. Guess first time for everything she looked good behind the small bar the two complemented each other well think if she continues on the small bar that's a winner combo. But the work is hard. Good change for her though. Good for her.

That why we hardly see any play in the bars the KBG's are out smarting us. Look at how much regulars come back for them. You telling me all of them no play.

Ah well! One of the few korean bars that is busy or semi busy. Splash is having their Christmas party on the 22nd and 23rd. The ticket costs $30/ per and covers 2 drinks and pupu's those of you that are tired of the office parties and the like and need a change of pace may want to check it out. Also if you have some spare cash after Chiristmas Shopping, lets do our part to support the Korean Economy. LOL. The malls are the pits for parking the other day 20 minutes looking for parking. Finally went up to Macys and parked on the upper floor it was crowded up there too. Man the stores must be making some money. If you guys have someone there or want to support the girls, and barracks go buy a ticket they have to sell x-amount each. So again guys support your favorite hostess and barbacks. As always be safe over the holidays and watch out for the men and women in blue these young guys and gals do not give you a break so better a $100.00 cab fare than a dui. Even with the recent events in court it does not pertain to a lot of dui cases. And the field sobriety test is hard enough sober, impaired forget it. Be smart this holiday season. Especially the young people on mopeds, Honolulu streets are littered with hodge podge memorials of stupid jackasses on these vehicles. Not all fatalities are the mopeds fault but if you have ever seen a moped driver weaving in and out of traffic like they own the road. I guess you may know what I mean by this statement. Those of you with kids on these things I remind you a drivers license is required to operate a moped and if underaged, no drivers license, and caught guess who going to court. It is not a unpowered bike you gave your kid for x-mss, again be safe and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Saturday was pretty slow at Splash but a lot busier than other bars in the Koreamoku area, the possible exception was Camelot. I guess it was the right time besides the other senior members usually there, had the rare sighting of the moderator of this blog, it was good to see you still alive and kicking, I PM brother see would be down there and just so happens brother the shows up as well was old home night all around. I guess it is the season, even saw the troll stick his head in and out. I guess it is the season to be jolly and again don't forget the Christmas party on the 22nd (Tuesday) and 23rd) Wednesday) man Christmas already, hope you guys did all your Christmas shopping.
The two newer girls who speak Japanese are Mari and Mei if you speak Japanese you'll do all right. It was the perfect night as it was slow a lot of women kind of went home at about 1 am anyway was a good night and it was good to see everyone doing ok. As always drive safe and watch out for the guys and gals in blue they were out in force last night going home saw at least 3 bravo units and one mp driving around. If you drinking have a designated driver or face the financial and social hardship that comes with a DUI. There are consequences besides the arrest record, community service, financial hardship, loss work time, etc. You guys add it up it does cost. It's not just the arrest record involved with that one, two, three beers, drinks. Be safe this holiday season.

Get kind of plenty crowd during the dayshift, especially the thirsty and hungry golfing crowd. Day bartender (don't know her name), late 50's, medium build, does provide kaukau but at a price (two to three nekos X two); not worth it. Glad the regulars still around although probably divided as the shuffling of KBGs continues. Don't let the Grinch and Scrooge spoil the holidays; take it easy and merry shaka.

The troll is a no brainer and everyone who has followed the drama is probably sick of it by now. I hope the new year brings some valid and informative posts. It seems only a few guys posting anything at all due to the total disgust. The heck with both of them. We both get ours which ever way we can so let them spend the same to learn and find out what we know and acquired the info with $$ If you want to be the troll you can be, you can take his place. LOL. Who cares?
As far as the day time bartender she has very good food but at a price. Necko's for her and her partner and food tip. But that's the same anywhere you go now days even in Kalihi. There is no free lunch and they are paying the food costs so you can't stiff them. Besides if ordering from the house menu I still think it's cheaper than ordering several plates from the kitchen. I think last daytime game had sashimi platter: Hamachi, grade #1 Ahi, and hokkigai clams and topshell which hit the spot. The fried chicken just off the grill also hit it home as well. It was good to see the guys all together for a change, everyone has been pretty much going on their own here and there as you said with the migration, we all follow our favorite hostess or bartender. The Grinch is dead it died when I said. The trolls, It doesn't matter anymore I will do my thing as usual and they can muddle along with theirs even under different screen names. Who cares?
Be safe and watch out for the guys in blue this holiday season.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and the Splash Christmas party was interesting one of the younger Senior member sat with Cherry. No pun from the side lines. In her 20's and fair completion she is the tallest of the 3 that speaks Japanese but the one with the most personality. She was open to trying anything (FOOD THAT IS) and has a healthy appetite. She has learned the trade and drinks moderately but that's to be expected of the three if had to sit with one of them would probably choose Cherry. The food was good and the company great, I haven't gotten a polo shirt in awhile but Mama did a great job in the design, no one would guess it's advertisement for a hostess bar other than what it is a company logo. That is class, good design mama's. Ran into some people haven't seen in awhile funny how guys come out of the woodwork during the holidays. I guess we all getting older or a reflection of the times. Be safe and drive carefully please, think of those you may leave behind or those who will loose loved ones because of that one too many. Above all please drive defensively and give courtesy on the road when it's due. That includes mopeds that ride up your ass when you driving, although I would like to brake and send them flying at times (nah! Only joke) please show them the courtesy of the road.
Should be the moneymaker for the KBGs; make up for the slowness of 2015. Nah, I don't associate with KB owners and make it a point to avoid any and all contact with KB management / supervisory. Used to be that you'd want to get to know the KB owner but then and now different. Before, they used to kind of protect the regular customers from the sharks; now, they try to take advantage of your presence by using you for chum and bleed you in the wash. Once again, I try make nonchalant and let others make 'big shot' and 'tough guy. ' Good fun for watch and learn about courtesy toward others and manners in public; I probably going be along the Kapiolani Blvd. Strip (maybe off-site at Camelot) for the festivities. See you guys and have a safe, memorable, and Happy Holidays.

KBs are so slow these days no matter which days it is. Splash Christmas party was suck. It was not really that busy despite mama try to invite all her customers to go there. Summit was suck too, most girls have gone home by 12.30.
Ended up have a good time at Saigon, International, and Secret. I go to V bars mostly these days. Don't want to deal with the bogus chicken shit at the KBs.
Watch more Kapiolani KBs closing in 2016, Summit might be the first to go.
BTW. Secret got some good looking girls and they are eager to please.
Say bye bye to the KBs.

Testing the KB waters for 2016 today. Will it be the SOS or an improvement from 2015? I know that toward the end of 2015 the KBGs were getting a little soft on the service and hard on the attitude; nevertheless, the LVBs were eating that crap up so I guess nothing will change. I can only predict that the KBs will fall hard after Super Bowl.

The old timers are better but they usually have baggage, well it's pretty much been this way but look forward to your scouting report.
Any bets on who the last three bars in Koreamoku will be? At this point maybe Splash and Camelot are one and two, Evergreen because it has a Cabaret license.

I was in EG and was amazed how stuck-up the girls just standing around were. Customers were coming in and it was like they didn't give a crap, especially the ones in their traditional Korean dresses. I don't see why they even bother coming here. If it's for family then they should stick with that and stay out of the bars if they don't have a clue how to treat men.
In a few weeks, many of them will begin blaming their woes on tax season. Imagine that.

Until they physically can't operate anymore because building is torn down they will operate with different faces I predict. The ability to assume the leases for several months and the dream of being in charge is too appealing to some of the more ambitious girls who will go in together to give it a shot. Only takes two girls with 30 k or so each to partner up and reopen the doors in some cases for 6 to 12 months. Also FYI there is no contractor or bids in yet on the rail project construction that will go from the stadium to Ala Moana LOL. Kiewit is only doing up to the stadium. Up to the stadium is not expected to be complete until end of 2017 best case scenario. Billion dollar ride to the swap meet anyone?
We have a couple more years before it hits the Honolulu area I'm guessing.

Camelot used to be one of the slowest town bars, thanks to the golf teams filling up the place. Some of my golf buddies used to drinking at Summit, they used to have the best kitchen mama serve good pupus, not anymore, if there is no house pupus, golfers will find better place to eat and drink.
Camelot bartender cook and they a good kitchen, even next door Secret order food from them, as you know Secret does not have a kitchen.

Summit will probably say bye- bye early this year, maybe Twilight or 74 and Talent to follow?
Results of the 2016 KB / KBG 'testing of waters' were not too promising:
1. KBGs are basically cocky and have delusions of grandeur; like on the mainland, the Ks have an attitude problem called a 'superiority complex. ' Those born here are OK. Basically, just the third world, uneducated immigrants put on airs.
2. There are no incentives or specials to make it worthwhile to go KB; such as $3 Heineken, $5 hard liquor, etc. ; no more nothing.
3. KBs are a public relations nightmare; KBGs are nightmares.
4. Except the LVBs, everybody on to their game already (long time ago).
No need mention the KBs visited as they were all the same; therefore, the demolition list for 2016 (in order of demo):
1. Summit.
2. Twilight.
3. 74.
4. Evergreen.
5. Camelot / Talent (tie).
Heard it was a bust for the KBs. Crowd was OK but nobody spending like in the past (5-10 years ago) but always going get a few exceptions to the rule. Not like before when the KB owners took charge and tried different ideas to lure customers to their webs; in fact, nowadays the employees telling the owners what to do (and acking like the actual owners) like at Talent and trying to manipulate / maneuver to get what they think is the best. The customers realize this and get turned off by all the drama and bs created by the trouble makers and their minions; customers just no come when certain ones work and find other places (eventually, they just move house). Putting all the eggs in one basket (golf clubs) going backfire as golfers not spending too much at the 19th hole as fees and equipment / supplies becoming very expensive, ala Liberty House. Anyway, good luck to the KB survivors and, most importantly, 'good job' and congratulations to all the bruddahs who hang in there and no give-in to the KB / KBG bs.

The troll said the kitchen is a good size, all out of proportion to the size of the bar but you have to remember the first layout for the place was with Patty mama and this kitchen was to serve both bars Camelot and the one next door the archway opening to the next bar is closed now but the kitchen remains and it is a large kitchen, been there and done that, lots of room to work without falling over each other, well lit and pretty good ventilation. I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year be safe and as always watch out for the men and women in blue.

As we all know we have 3 less KBs to go to in 2015, Jasmine, Business and Casino all bite the dust.
I agree there will be more KBs to go down in 2016, Summit and probably some other town bars will follow the same path.
As I notice most of the drinkers are in the 60's and retired. There is no way grandpa would keep spending everyday and drying out their wallet. You see less and less causal drinkers these days cause they can't afford keep on feeding these high nose KBGs and put up with their bullshits.
I certainly would say Kalihi might be the next KB capital. Less lease rent bar owners have to pay. Girls aren't as pushy as the high end town princesses.

One thing I forgot to mention was that there were more PITA, creepy KBG bartenders and floor walkers than normal nowadays:
1. They gots to make snide remarks; can't just shut up and do their job.
2. Gots to get into everybody's business and give some kind of opinionated crap, usually unwanted and unwarranted; just to let the diarrhea out of their mouths.
3. Think they're the best at whatever; don't realize they're the dregs of the earth and probably the reason for the KBs being slow.
4. They're always right; never mind that there are other people in this world besides them.
5. The one who shouts the loudest and lashes out is always right.
On the positive note:
1. There is a definite distinction of KBG personalities being established; more easy to pick and choose which KBG matches your disposition and preference.
2. Due to the bs, they get no one else to blame but themselves.
3. Other KBGs are also getting disgusted with the obnoxious ones and are creating a division of alliances (more about this later; this will be the defining reason of why and which KBs will survive).
4. Creates more subjects of conversation for the boys.
Wholeheartedly agree with this.
Also heard that the bars at the old Tomorrow location to close soon. Making way for a new condo. No more Panda or Ramen shop.

If that come true a new condo being build at the Makaloa lot. Then I would say it is a sure thing many surounding bars and strip club will be torn down, no luxury condo owners like to live near bars, strip club and adult store.

The rail project bringing in all the speculating developers to the area; notice how Grabowski is no longer the 'face' of HART? Making too much under-the-table deals with and for everybody connected with this cash cow; more tax extensions to come. No forget rail going through Dillingham soon with plenty thirsty riders (doubt it).

This cash cow is going to drag on us for years and years to come and when completed the only ones using it will be the ones that can't afford a car, can't drive for whatever reason, work along the rail route, and school kids (up to college). I base this opinion on another model from another tourist city, Las Vegas the 9th Island. I took my parent there to ride the LVM (Las Vegas Monorail) and the only people riding the darn thing were those that worked in the hotels and casino's and tourists. They were smart in that at the end of the line by the old Sahara there is a bus stop where people get on to get back to their cars and vice a versa. I hope the Rail planners were smart enough to include car parks along the line so people can park and lock and ride into work. Or not.
I would also predict that like the LVM which went Bankrupt (CH 11 protection from creditors) our rail system will probably come to this down the road as well and we will be the ones to bail out the rail. I guess we need the rail but I am a townie and have always been so I personally have no need of this BS that the politicians stuffed down our throats yet again.
Anyway I am ready for the new crop coming in for these 90 day wonders when hear anything will let you guys know. As usual no names, you Senior members can form your own opinion and yeah we form them fast, must be our old goat mentality or could it be our experience?

Planned but not started yet though. I can see the LVM / HART comparison however I have always felt Vegas' need is not nearly as great as Oahu's. I have not doubt that there will be major trouble for HART. Its a shame its not better planned or run. And if its like that in the development, it will likely be that way upon completion. One critical mistake regarding HART is that regarding civic traffic management, its the only play they are making. They aren't doing much else to affect traffic aside from HART. Narrowing lanes to add an additional lane on H1 is going to make things worse. No limits on the rental car business is something that could be rectified. Requiring International or US Domestic DL's to rent a car wouldn't stop foreign tourists from coming. 80 percent of the tourists staying in hotel rooms in Waikiki have rentals. Even with 60 percent occupancy the amount of cars that tallies up to is simply astronomical. HART will not solve that 1 problem by itself. You have to force it. You can't just build it and expect them to come.
HART done at least partially right will be a good thing for us all. Once HART is done I would fully consider moving to Ewa. Commute on the train for work and drive into town for 'pleasure'.

It would appeal to a small number of people but the majority that Hart was geared to will still hop into their cars and drive the hour plus drive in and back to have the flexibility of having to do that grocery shopping, or other last minute details or go to their favorite watering hole or AMP.
In Japan to qualify for a drivers license it costs about 3 k to have a drivers license so it would be used by working adults who could afford it that would force most of the college kids to ride the rail. IN Japan it is also difficult to get emission controls approved for older cars 5 years or more that's why you rarely see older vehicles in Japan. IT is a privilege to drive in Japan especially since you have to prove you have parking for your vehicle (just look at some of our crowded double parked streets). Things may have changed since my last visit there but impose financial constraints on drivers license or safety checks or vehicle weight tax etc so that it would force the younger less affluent drivers to take Hart. In my dreams, but you can get the gist of what it would take to get the required volume of riders to sustain this mistake.
Car rentals are a integral part of the tourist industry. IT does put more inexperienced drivers on the roads but you usually can tell them right away e. G. ; that Japanese couple in that ford mustang by Walmart it was funny seeing the husband check the gear shift etc before he pulled out of the parking. He paid more attention to details than most of us when we get a new car. The International drivers license is recognized in Japan as well as it is here I would be more concerned with the Chinese drivers than Japanese. Or those transplants from the mainland. As always drive safe and watch out for the guys and gals in blue. These young ones give no chance, so be on the look out and have your paper work in order.

No forget rail going through Dillingham soon with plenty thirsty riders (doubt it).Have you ever wondered why there is such a large FBI building in Kapolei and the building of shopping complex that will rival Ala Moana? Also why are there plans to build a massive parking structure across the City administration building?
It appears that the rail was built to move City, State and Federal workers from downtown Honolulu to Kapolei making it convenient for them and securing political support to politicians who will take credit every time they ride this fiasco money drain that benefits the few and inconvenient the masses in higher taxes, more traffic.
Its all about lining the pockets of the political connected and the government milk cows of unionized workers who couldn't care less about you so long as they get to park and catch the rail to and from work.
The local population as a whole is basically self-serving cowards who do not like to make waves even for their own good. They keep voting the same corrupt idiots in office and won't take a stand expecting someone to do their dirty laundry while enjoying a benefit for themselves.
In the past I have represented over a hundred local workers at the Federal building during an illegal layoff and no one showed up to express or show support during the hearing in front of the judge! When we won that case, the first thing out of their mouths was "when are we getting paid"! They should have voiced their concerns and probably would have received additional compensation other than basic benefits from the labor contract that was violated.
That is why I won't hold my breath for locals who are losers that don't take a stand and deserved to be taken to the cleaners.

Nope, didn't know she was married and has a son. You better talk to your wife, dude.
I'll will look back at this and laugh someday. But not today. Google my full name and my home ph# pops up. Hope the mad husband doesn't call my wifey.
If anybody has sage advice, I could use it right now!

If anybody has sage advice, I could use it right now!I'm always surprised that there isn't more drama at these bars, especially with every guy in there either being married or in some kind of relationship as well as the bar girls having multiple partners. It's only a matter of time, that someone gets hurt either emotionally or, unfortunately, physically. Be safe fellas, play smart!

If anybody has sage advice, I could use it right now!I would recommend creating numerous accounts with your valid name but bogus address, phone numbers, age, high school graduation dates to throw anyone off searching for your profile online. Do this on different computers like in public libraries or apply for various memberships like a conservative or liberal newsletter.
The idea is to have many names of the same "person" to cast doubt on who really gets to know you.

If anybody has sage advice, I could use it right now!Oh. Well, it isn't atypical for a BG to have a husband, multiple BFs and a kid or kids in another state or states. I hope your phonebook listing omits street address, and you are in a secure building rather than a house that some crazed jealous guy can mess with after finding it online. It is not unusual for BGs or their husbands/BFs to be well-connected.
I don't know and perhaps it is already too late but if you change your number, request that it be "non-published"; this is a step further beyond simply being unlisted.
It is good you Googled yourself. IMHO in this day and age that is a good thing to check from time to time. I've seen people removed from searches; publicly available information (such as street address and phone number) no longer comes up. They are not so easily found. I do not know exactly how they did it though, did not want to pry.

I do not know exactly how they did it though, did not want to pry.Agreed, I know more than one instance where they got married in another state and work here while the green card husband is on the mainland. Hawaii I must admit has some pretty good INS agents. The trouble with feds is you can't tell them anything. As if you would want to. I think the going rate is 50 k in New York and about 30 k on the west coast. The midwest I guess they the cheapest heard for 20 k you can get a red neck husband (no offense intended).
This guy is already too late if this irate husband wants "HIS" he probably has his address, but like you said maybe he lives in a secured building usually the unit number isn't listed in the white pages. My advice to the husband is get a divorce, once they get a taste hard to get them out of the bar unless for spending money even with a kid, He will probably get stuck with the kid while she takes off to god knows where anyway I wish this guy luck. The monger, well that's part of the risk for fooling around, in this case the wahine was fooling around too. This cannot be your first irate husband. But if it is everyone has to go thru it once. Like slide burn once you get pinched and skin torn you never going forget it. I hope your wife didn't get wind of it but that as a married man going to the bar is your kuleana good luck to both of you guys seems the wahine the only winner (if there is one) here.
I met a young lady last night and her name was Mai, I guess she has been around off and on as she was attending school and coming back and forth to work and earn some money. She seems to know what she wants and is willing to work for it. I think that those that like the sweet and innocent (relatively speaking) look may want to check her out I asked when she usually starts and she mentioned about 7:30 PM when the second shift starts. I guess a couple of other senior members may have gotten the jump on me but haven't seen anything recently that has perked my interest. I guess I will need to check her out a little more anyway just for your info, she does drink and damage was about 5-6 drinks. Which for a slow night was pretty amazing for me. Anyway take care and stay safe from the men and women in blue.
Man these mopeds are a nuisance, The way these kids drive these things are a menace, remember they do have to have some kind of license to operate a moped, drivers or motorcycle. I think most of the kids parents would thank you for reporting erratic driving especially wheelieson those darn things.

I give her credit because English is not her native language imagine if you had to read and understand your final thesis in Korean and write your paper out in Korean. This lady has a brain and determination. And she is willing to work for it. Anyway was another quiet night. Two nights in a row that is unusual for me now days but at least Mama is better and came into work sick or not she is one of the few mama's I still respect in the circuit that is now the kapiolani bars.
I did find out she used to work for Business and International (Patty Mama time) in between going back and forth for school. I guess for me she is a new face but she has been around since she does have a following, be safe and watch out as always for the officers in blue.

Yes she's quite special like that. I sat with her a few years ago and she mentioned school.
Made the usual rounds all around pretty slow except 74 which bar was full and there were some women working. Camelot was second place and Splash was third. It was a pretty slow night.
The two that speak Japanese that used to work at Splash are now working at Evergreen, I wish them luck as most of the old timers have their regular customers and these two have their work cut out for them trying to glean business from the other group the young ones who also have their clients. Anyway I wish them luck as the grass always looks greener on the other side.
I am glad the cheaters did not win the playoffs but Denver and Carolina hope it is not another blow out anyway I think it's Carolina and over 45 well that's the way it goes. Or not. Be safe and watch out for the guys and gals in blue.
Will the KBs invest in SB parties? It may be their last chance to make any kind of money and would be incumbent upon them to start making preparations (like now). Please inform of the SB party proposals, if any (where, what, price, etc.). Particularly want to know where going have like pig feet, oxtail, tripe (the goodies), etc. Looks like Spotlight and Splash would have the nod right now but anything could happen from now to then. Live odds as of this post: Carolina (open at -3) -4. 5; o / you 45. Good luck, mahalo, and please contribute - no complain, criticize, and tantaran too much (trolls do that).

They fixed their books to avoid the salarycap which led Elway to their only two Superbowls. Every team cheats yourteamcheats.com has the full stats. Just my two cents.

I remember last year had private party on the door so the guys just wandering around are out of luck till after the game, when it thins out. It's the same guys every year so you will stick put if you can find a place on the bar (fat chance) I would think Kalihi would have more choices for a Super Bowl party. Kapiolani is getting rather limited. Anyway that's 2 weeks away good luck on finding a place to park the behind for the game. Be safe and as always watch out for the guys and gals in blue.
Unless you made a reservation for a table I would forget about Splash. I would think Kalihi would have more choices for a Super Bowl party. Was thinking of making one reserve on the counter of the KB where I'm playing their SB pool (no news on what they planning but hoping get at least one small buffet for the pool players; nowadays everything expensive so not guarans). Since I'm likely to be solo for the game maybe will get an opening at the 'seat without a view. ' Anyway, I more or less watch just the last minutes of each quarter so no matter; get screens all over the creation in the KBs anyway.
Also noticing less nekos being bought during dayshift. Usually, the guys are generous, lonely, and like play so they negotiate to buy $10 kine but even that has dried up; but no need worry as the KBGs usually get LVBs and 'outside' business to take care. Always remember that you in Wonderland, not them, so no believe anything 'through the looking glass' without making sure. Take care, good luck, cool head, and mahalo for keeping us informed.
Easy for talk but hard for do: thinking with the big (instead of small) head especially when alcohol judgment, wahine all over you, and the buzz going on. However, that moment of indiscretion may be one painful, expensive, and embarrassing one. Don't have one definitive answer for this one but 'been there and done that' so the consequences could come back to haunt anybody. Not trying to lecture or state the obvious; just no like more guys bit the dust (legally or otherwise).
On a less serious note, seems like Kapiolani-side popular places are Talent, Splash, and Summit. This leads me to avoid these KBs and seek less visited ones.

Every team cheats yourteamcheats.com has the full stats. Just my two cents.I was referring to deflategate last year but then again you can ask how much the coach who called the play to pass instead of run and let time run out in the Seahawks game was paid by the Las Vegas bookies. Professional football is a for profit business and it is big business. I guess there is a web site for everything just look at this one but thanks again for the info. The computer says Carolina by 5 and over 45 well we will see. Be safe and watch out for the guys and gals in blue.

I stopped by 74 on Sunday they booked solid as well. Good luck on finding a seat, but I suspect all the town bars will be accommodating their regulars or have reservations. But I am sure you have a seat already. This for the others guys thinking they just going walk in and get a seat at a popular town bar. I hope the guys don't forget to take care of the bar backs doing all the work. And naturally the bartenders. If they more than a pretty face. Or not. Your call.

Last year someone has said town side bars booked, it was not really the case. I was scouting at Summit, Splash, Evergreen, had plenty of tables with empty glasses indicate reserved but no shown. The problem was people reserved the tables had gone elsewhere or changed mind watch it at home without telling te establishment. Also took a ride to Kalihi last year, at half time most bars were only half full. I had no problem of finding seat.
Try Goody Goody Bar and Grill. The ol Tsunami's. The can seat over 100 people. Think they going to open at 12 pm this Sunday.

I guess the computer was half right, but my team won, so that's just all that matters, seems everyone had a good time. I hope your team won as well. The look on the prima donnas face after was priceless. He is not so hot after all when faced with a good defense.
A number of women at Splash were making some decent money, met a young lady named Jinby new face and still needs to be broken in so to speak. She still relatively new to the business slim build limited english but working knowledge of english as understands most things. If you speak Japanese you have it made. She does like her Heinekein though just to be forewarned. She was good company, overall.
I saw Oldee and his friend and mentioned this thread, said hadn't been moderating for a year now so wonder who reviewing this post. Anyway was good to see he still alive and kicking. I guess another tour of the bars maybe in line. He still trying to fix me up with a "good one". I guess tastes vary but never say never because you never know. It is nice to be loved.
Splash was packed so what can I say the guys that won the block pool were very generous in spreading the wealth giving back the house most of their winnings. Well once a year. It was good to see everyone having a real good time. All in all a very good day. For all.
Do they have hostess at Goody Goody?I don't think so, but I bought the cute Korean waitress a drink. Food not bad too.
Any ad on BP or CL? Could not find it by googling.
Any ad on BP or CL? Could not find it by googling. This bar is in the old. Used to be a Chinese Restaurant. . name escapes me since getting old. But it is on king street just before the old First Interstate building, on the left side going down King street. So going down King there is Zippys on the left then Sakura Restaurant after that on left there is the bar pretty much if over shoot just cut thru Splash parking lot to get back on young st and then come around then not sure where parking is. The cut thru is after 5 pm if earlier chain will be up so can't cut thru.
Any ad on BP or CL? Could not find it by googling.Goody Goody? It is on the mauka side of South King Street across Debbie's Place, shortly before the "Interstate Building" at 1314 South King Street. Roughly speaking it is after Piikoi but before Keeaumoku Street, if you are driving along South King Street.
More specifically, try Googling 1272 South King Street.
It was a Chinese restaurant years ago until they got busted for the joint doubling as a gambling house.

This one is Jinby she younger than Danby She slimmer than Danby.
Sorry, your post wasn't here when I responded to Snowsofa.I ran into Oldee at Superbowl at Splash he said hasn't moderated this blog for over a year so assume being moderated by someone else so no problem, there is a delay assume for the trolls as well. That's life and who cares but thanks for the post appreciate it.
Anybody know about this bartender chick named Cindy at Evergreen? I think she's hot.
I heard Splash having a Valentines day party tonight, just to let the senior members know, although the regulars probably already know this. Anyway fore warned I'd forearmed.
Home champagne available at Talent; keywords: piano player (40 ish). Just FYI that it's up to you to use negotiations and judgment. No blame the messenger for whatevers.
I heard thru the grapevine had a fire outside of Splash last night in the trash bin. To the jackass who started the fire, I think you in some kukai as the fire caused electrical damage to the lines outside the bar and as a result Splash maybe closed for the next 7 days. Good Job! Asshole. I hope they catch you (arsonist) and throw your sorry ass in Jail. What you thought it was funny in your drunken stupor? Well we will find out who has the last laugh. Dummy. I hope you get plenty money as after the insurance pays off the damage, they can go after YOU!! And I mean plenty money.
