SHELBY — Police say a restaurant owner moonlighting as a high-end escort was arrested in an undercover prostitution sting Thursday.

Elizabeth Anne Winter. 53, agreed to perform sex acts with an undercover Shelby Police Department detective for two hours at a price of $600, according to a magistrate's order. Winter owns the Winter House deli at 219 E. Marion St, where she worked with her mother for more than three decades.

I feel so much safer knowing that the real crimes are solved and LE has the time and resources to HARASS people looking for a companionship and those that provide it. I never met her but I found a few pics online and she looks like a beautiful woman and the kind I would want to spend some time with.


I know her and she is classy lady, one of the best person I have come across. I hope this nightmare goes away for her.

I never met her but I found a few pics online and she looks like a beautiful woman and the kind I would want to spend some time with.I have to agree! I read the two articles, and this was the most senseless waste of taxpayer money I've seen. It was probably somebody's wife who tipped police off. I've never met the lady, but she seemed like a good person from what I've read. This is a real shame, she will probably beat it in court, but the embarassment will take some time. I just hope her business doesn't suffer.

Spoke with my buddy on the legal side about the upcoming stings, he told me to give up the hobby. A monger never quits or retreats (like Spartans). December 1, 2024, this hobby becomes a felony, first offense is 2 to 4 months and next offense is almost 4 years in the can? WTF, I'm too old to be defending my cheeks. In my opinion, Stick to regulars or retire.

It isn't worth all that. Any thoughts on this Senior members? I've added a link for those who believe I'm fear-mongering, I assure you I am not.

I think for people like me that are already on the verge of retiring from the hobby, this is the good old push to quit, but to each his own.
