Georgia shootings underscore racism, misogyny.
OPINION.
Racism clearly drove Atlanta shootings. It also fuels sexual exploitation of Asian women.
https://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-news/before-killing-spree-georgia-let-an-industry-that-fetishizes-asian-women-flourish/O2KAW7XBYFB2FBXIUF3ML33JXU/
Before killing spree, Georgia let an industry that exploits Asian women flourish.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/18/us/sex-trafficking-massage-parlors.html
The killings targeted an industry with a history of concerns about sex trafficking.
For a while, I could meet, I will choose someone that I kept contact with for long.
Avoiding is best. If not good-old-well known one is best. The shooter already admitted it wasn't racially motivated and that he claims to suffer from a sex addiction. It's certainly possible judging just by some of the posts users on here leave regarding certain providers. Some guys fail to realize that it REALLY is a business transaction as anything else. Service in exchange for monetary compensation. Nine times out of ten the girls really are NOT into you it's all part of the game. Take for example the guy that used to constantly post delusional obsessive comments about cc Misa. Not everything is about race despite fake news msm opinions. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it leads to another round of federal funding and crackdowns on local AMP's.

They have to do. It is political issue now. I don't think blm heat really change harsh reality that much but politicians and big companies earn benefit when people get angry.
The most sensitive issue in america is triggered. Feds, locals have to do something.
If you check women's magazine, marie claire, teen vogue, radical feminist magazine to traditional women's site all talks about it asking "help" for fragile asian women.
Some talk about helping sex workers and we know what those college-degreed helpers and government do for sex worker will just ruin business.

Are we supposed to believe everything that guy says? He just shot and killed a bunch of people. Pretty sure anything coming out his mouth is bullshit. This guy drove past strip clubs in the same parking lot and hit up only the AMPs. He clearly blamed the AMP providers as the targets that enabled his addiction. If I get mad and have a bad day, I don't try to shoot up PornHub, bro.

Then show that he had enough sense to bypass probably heavily armed strip clubs and target lightly defended AMPs and seek the death penalty because he had enough sense of mind to figure that out and he wasn't totally insane. Case like this Death Penalty, one appeal and if still found guilty execute immediately.
IMO this is not a hate crime. If the massage therapists were non Asian the shooter probably would have shot them.
This is about porn addiction in which the shooter received therapy last year.

This is about porn addiction in which the shooter received therapy last year.It will be easier to play the addiction game rather than the hate crime game. That being said, why did he target asian spas only? From this standpoint, it is a hate crime. From a non legal standpoint, this white / non weathly boy probably got played by the ladies once too may times. He spent all of his savings fucking these women because he had no game to pick up regular women. So now he is broke and feels helpless and victimized. He probably watched too much tv and was motivated by the resurgance of white nationalism pride by the previous president along with negative sentiments towards asians because of the virus. Dude finally cracked without realizing the concequenses.

IMO the shooter does not have the cognitive level to use sexual addiction vs. Hate crime to get a lesser sentence. This guy is going to prision for life no matter what the motive.

People's views get skewed when watching too much tv, which can cause a superiority complex. With all that is going down, it could very well play a major role into why he did it. Speaking about massage services, why did he only need to go to asian massage parlors? Do you think only asian massage parlors provide sexual services? Wait, dude lived in the Atlanta area, which is stripper mecca of USA Strippers and sexual services go hand in hand. If he was an addict (which invloves online porn), he would have knowlesdge of online services and streetwalkers etc. Just sayin.

Strip clubs are my thing. Been to several in the Atl. At the least secure clubs you get a tsa search from a women, most clubs it is a very large and usually angry man. Most clubs have at least 1 armed guard, usually several. The door man at most clubs are not friendly to anyone. Vs a spa where you are greeted by a short usually portly friendly sing songed voiced Asian chick. If he would have tried that shit at any of the clubs he would have rightfully been gunned down 3 feet in. The clubs don't play. They are often the location of violence and respond accordingly. Did you see that dude? Even with a gun most atl street walkers would kick his ass.
AMPs are mainly staffed by Asians in major US metropolitan areas. AMPs are the safest and most convienent option for REAL LIFE human to human contact for porn / sexual addicts. End of story.LOL, tell us something we don't know. AMP may be convenient. It is definitely NOT the safest option. The safest is to meet a woman in REAL LIFE. Going back the story, Atlanta and its burbs have rampant prostitution, so your convenience angle doesn't hold water. The fact remains that a white boy shot up not one or two, but three ASIAN mps. To top it off, dude drove hours just to shoot up an AMP.
I don't see any convenience if the place he shot up was located hours away. I see premeditation hate crime. Done.

Going to an AMP is not the only way for a porn / sex addict to get human to human contact, but if you go to one, chances are they'll most likely be Asian.
Haven't seen any mention of him trying other avenues of "release", but if he only went to AMPs then maybe he had a predilection for race.

IMO they won't be able to get a hate crime conviction. There were / have been some run by non-asian locals in mainland.
Getting license named spa, hair shop, tanning shop, lingerie shops, adult shops. Then boom boom.
But they are much easier target of raid than AMP (AMP is already well known easy target with evidence of fixed address and phone numbers) cause they are too brave. Aggressive marketing and trading of drugs etc.
Not many but a few.
(No 24 hours system. Most Americans can never understand 24 hours AMP system. That looks like perfect example of labor exploitation, dominating labors in fragile condition. This is what new owner of AMPs must consider in case).
Looks like it's about to be shut down like backpage and city.

The whole corrupted HPD was. Kealoha promoted Ben because they were friends not because he is capable, nobody in HPD is.

He has to know, and has to lie. Otherwise, he wouldn't even get his foot in the door. The verdict on officer Derek Chauvin case (when done) will change the way officers all over the country react. Already NY is the first state to have no immunity for officers that go beyond their conduct especially when there on video with a handcuffed person and are taught to say very loudly "he's going for my gun" when it appears the individual has no arms at all.

These cops be getting trigger happy killing kids for trying to get away in a cheap stolen car. The kid made a bad choice that only leads to jail the hospital or dead.So you OK with kids more likely gang since was 6 of them stealing arm robbery running from cops driving on opposite side of the road possibly hurting innocent people. This is not police fault the kid got shot. I'm sorry but you hurt innocent people you deserve what you get. What if these 6 people did what they did to someone of your family?
The vehicle was seen fleeing the scene of an armed robbery and burglary in addition to being stolen. The Honda rammed several Police vehicles and refused to stop. Maybe get all the facts before so judiciously passing the blame. You are absolutely right. I feel no pity for punks who break into someone's house with gun or terrorizing innocent people. Its ridiculous how some people like blame police for everything when it's there job to protect. This is not like George Floyd where he was already cuffed and down. Another thing I not sure how others feel but George Floyd is not the hero a lot of people making him out to be he didn't deserve to die but people forgetting he was a drug addict and he was using counterfeit $$ and that's what cause him to be arrested and in the end his death and again I'm saying George Floyd didn't deserve to die the cop should pay for that but George Floyd shouldn't be known as a hero either.

Young guys involved in armed robbery, home invasions, auto theft. Can't expect to get by with a slap on the wrist. WTF are they thinking! This is a tiny little island. Everybody knows everybody. Cannot get lost in the mass of humanity cause there isn't any mass!
If you going to do this kind shit. Go SoCal, NYC, Philly, Detroit, Chicago where you can get lost in the mob.
Stupid shit.
These thugs no longer kids. Chose this lifestyle as evidenced by their long list of prior convictions--keep in mind this represents maybe a tenth of the havoc they have been causing.
You know they already out on the street again today. Bet you they commit more crimes guarantee. No rehab for those who chose the lifestyle.

Be safe all.Yeah, they just kids but they doing adult crimes. The 22 yo was on probation and probably using these other kids to do the dirty work; trying for establish one gang and giving them instruction on criminal and thug tactics. See, the thing is, your "social circles" have a lot of impact on your life outcome. It's how money and privilege easily find each other, and druggies and criminals as well. The real problem with the "Micronesian situation" is that we just gave them free stuff, but did not support them through other means. Think about the purpose of something like a prisoner re-entry program. If we just gave everyone who is getting out of jail $10,000 and said "ok, go free", how many would you think would just acclimate back into "regular life"? Probably not a lot. That's why instead of just giving them a bunch of free stuff, we should have provided "less money and more access" to programs like education and jobs. Right now, there are all these "thugs" in the Micronesian group who are sitting around with too much time on their hands. If they were working and going to school instead of sitting around doing nothing and getting checks in the mail, I'm sure we'd see this a lot less.
Poverty = crime. Solve for poverty and you get less crime as a generalized theory. Not pushing any political narrative here, but all research suggests that the poorer a person or their surroundings are, the more likely there is to be crime. This applies to juveniles as well as adults.

The brother just showed how ignorant he is with that gansta wannabe attitude. "Shot like a criminal" Duhhh if getting arrested 30 times don't define the teenager as a criminal or at least a juvenile delinquent then what is. The person whos car was stolen and now destroyed, the purse snatching victim, the home invasion at gun point victims. Now all of those victims got to pay the price of property loss and trauma for life. Sorry I have more empathy for all of the victims. SmH.

But his brother saying he wasnt a criminal?Good for him, better the cops waste that punk before he commits more crime and misery for innocent people if he becomes an adult, then either ends up dead or in prison that us taxpayers end up paying for his free three meals a day, court, medical, dental expenses, air conditioning and cable. Too bad there aren't laws to deport his family if they cannot control this punk. I give the cops a tumbs up for ridding us of this human parasite.

..Did you know that Hawaii's taxpayers are paying almost $1 billion each year for medical / dental and other related injuries for the nuclear testing in the last 1950's for Micronesians? Our stupid State legislators made an agreement with the Federal government to pay but taxpayers did not re-imbursed for this bill even though Hawaii has not benefitted from this nuclear testing as in other States that have nuclear energy and other related industries. This is how the Micronesians repay the host State of Hawaii who is paying for their medical costs with punks that rob our citizens.

Did you know that Hawaii's taxpayers are paying almost $1 billion each year for medical / dental and other related injuries for the nuclear testing in the last 1950's for Micronesians? Our stupid State legislators made an agreement with the Federal government to pay but taxpayers did not re-imbursed for this bill even though Hawaii has not benefitted from this nuclear testing as in other States that have nuclear energy and other related industries. This is how the Micronesians repay the host State of Hawaii who is paying for their medical costs with punks that rob our citizens.Payments to the peoples of the FSMicronesia for nuclear testing from the '50's should not be generational and / or punitive to Hawaii (we neva test bomb them). At one time Hawaii residents were paying for their healthcare alone at a rate of at least $14 million per year. The toll that locals are taking for the shenanigans is ridiculous; time to stop the shat.

The verdict on officer Derek Chauvin case (when done) will change the way officers all over the country react. Already NY is the first state to have no immunity for officers that go beyond their conduct especially when there on video with a handcuffed person and are taught to say very loudly "he's going for my gun" when it appears the individual has no arms at all.Watch as the cries of evil American systemic racism sound off by the MSM and public when Chauvin is acquitted of the murder charge. Will he get a lesser charge? Possibly negligence or something of that nature. The prosecution's argument and witness testimonies are already falling apart and actually helping the defense. The body cam footage shows that the knee is actually not on the neck but pinned on his shoulder. Let's not forget that the emphasis in court is always "Beyond a reasonable doubt. " The prosecution has already failed on this. The cause of death was a lethal combination of meth and fentanyl on top of a pre-existing heart condition. The attending medical examiner has testified that this was likely the outcome.
What is truly the end game for the MSM outlets? All of them owned by 4 or 5 corporate conglomerates feeding these backwards narratives that only further divide and drive society against each other as we're the laughing stock of other developed nations.
Now all of those victims got to pay the price of property loss and trauma for life. Sorry I have more empathy for all of the victims. The families of some of the thugs probably going file one excessive use of force, wrongful death, and civil rights suits against the city if they no find the existence of alleged weapon (s) soon. Settle out-of-court; we get screwed again if litigation happens, IMO.

Kelli Shiroma, the local instagram foodie lady. She's pretty cute in my opinion. Anyone have any info on her. I noticed she's pretty thin though. I'm just curious. Saw her last instagram story pic with her wearing shorts and her sexy legs visible and wearing her slippers. Mmmmm. I find her cute.
She just retired because she feels the police commission doesn't like her.
She just retired because she feels the police commission doesn't like her.She just retired so she doesn't have to face the same kind of corruption charges the former Chief got slapped with. She was just a corrupt and negligent as all the rest. Don't ask too many questions about where all that CARES money went or how much phony OT was required for Covid-19 enforcement.
City government is just a smaller version of the Washington DC corrupt political process. It's just a damned shame that, as bad as this system is, it's still the best the world has ever seen.
She just retired because she feels the police commission doesn't like her.Really, with currupted HPD and other useless Hawaii government employees, when the going gets tough, the tough retires. I guess she don't want to stick around to explain the overtime scam and the complete waste of federal COVID funds by her Hawaii's finest.

So if they invade your house and pull a gun on you and your family? It's ok because the kid just made a bad choice, Aloha. Even more reason Hawaii should pass the castle doctrine and lose the terrible laws in place that only favor criminals over law abiding citizens. I don't dial 911 it takes too long, 357 is much better to have on speed dial.Thats why said either jail hospital or dead that's what he got he got killed for making a bad choice he knew he choose to do what he did and got what he got. Can't go around acting up only going end in a bad way like it did he got what he ask for.

So what would you do if you were only 21 years of age, a tall and good looking athlete, and very likely to sign a lucrative contract projected to be in the $35,000,000 range?
Even though in the years ahead you could probably be having sex with an exciting variety of models, actresses, beauty pageant contestants, party girls, and other women from around the world, would you rather make a solemn promise to only have sex with one woman for the rest of your life?
Well, that's a promise that Trevor Lawrence made this past weekend, when he married at 21.
Hope he has an ironclad prenuptial agreement!

The prosecution has no chance of getting the full on murder wrap to which it seeks. It has not been proven "beyond a reasonable doubt" in the facts or testimonies that Chauvin's actions deliberately and intentionally caused the death. Regardless of the facts, thanks to the constant misinformation and backwards narratives mainstream media touts the social justice warriors demand blood and will settle for nothing less. Let the "peaceful protests" commence.

Regardless of facts he was already tried and convicted by the public and media outpouring demanding Chauvin to be found guilty or else. I'm sure his defense is already working on an appeal process for lesser sentencing.

Now with cellphones everybody got their eyes and ears all ready to take videos anytime an officer (s) is seen making a traffic stop or arresting someone. Now the tables have turned and officers will be more cautious with arrest and who's filming the incident. So long as you maintain your distance from their investigation you can film all you want, just give the officer (s) his space.

This use of deadly force policy needs to be assessed and addressed; but after the two officers shot and killed at the Hibiscus / Kapiolani Park area, hard for call.

I'm skeptical. The big reason mainlanders are leaving the cities like NY and LA is so they can move to areas where they can buy a big house with lots of space for them and their family. Hawaii weather is nice, but its far from the mainland, and 300 K doesn't buy shit here but gets you a nice property in much of the midwest and south. Hawaii will have a lot of trouble attracting large amounts of the new gen of remote workers.

People who gravitate to positions of power, authority, prestige, and attention are, as you have noted, usually the alpha personality narcissistic types craving that spotlight (IMO). Additionally, they become so blinded and overwhelmed by those "leadership" traits that (common) sense is abandoned and recklessness leads to their downfall; guarans.

Hawaii will have a lot of trouble attracting large amounts of the new gen of remote workers.Remote workers / digital nomads will give a temporary boost but I don't see it being a net positive since tech bros tend to easily clear 100 k. A big influx of them would just cause more issues for our housing. Especially those with the freedom to work remotely since they typically are not junior guys who need supervision, so roughly 150 k and above. If proper taxing (by the state) isn't set up to reap that, then I don't see how there are any long term benefits to this at all. I just see larger class division and more gentrification to support highly paid remote workers versus taking care of people who live here.
So now the city will be installing red light cameras at certain intersections that take only the rear license plate. Wow, so as all Teslas have no front plates why is that ok?. I don't drive a Tesla so no big deal. So with all the citations for going thru a red light can you include, no safety check sticker so that means mo car insurance also.

Breaking: The Manhattan the will no longer prosecute prostitution and unlicensed massage.
The shift puts the weight of a high-profile law enforcement office behind the movement to change the criminal justice system's approach to sex work.
Expect a loss of talent here soon.
Manhattan to Stop Prosecuting Prostitution, Part of Nationwide Shift.
The Manhattan District Attorney's Office announced Wednesday that it would no longer prosecute prostitution and unlicensed massage, putting the weight of one of the most high-profile law enforcement offices in the United States behind the growing movement to change the criminal justice system's approach to sex work.
The district attorney, Cyrus Vance Jr. , asked a judge Wednesday morning to dismiss 914 open cases involving prostitution and unlicensed massage, along with 5,080 cases in which the charge was loitering for the purposes of prostitution.
The law that made the latter charge a crime was repealed by New York state in February.
The announcement represents a substantive shift in the office's approach to prostitution. Many of the cases Vance moved to dismiss dated to the 1970's and 1980's, when New York waged a war against prostitution in an effort to clean up its image as a center of iniquity and vice.
"Over the last decade, we've learned from those with lived experience and from our own experience on the ground: Criminally prosecuting prostitution does not make us safer, and too often, achieves the opposite result by further marginalizing vulnerable New Yorkers," Vance said in a statement.
The office will continue to prosecute other crimes related to prostitution, including patronizing sex workers, promoting prostitution and sex trafficking, and said that its policy would not stop it from bringing other charges that stem from prostitution-related arrests.
That means, in effect, that the office will continue to prosecute pimps and sex traffickers as well as people who pay for sex, continuing to fight those who exploit or otherwise profit from prostitution without punishing the people who for decades have borne the brunt of law enforcement's attention.
Manhattan will join Baltimore, Philadelphia and other jurisdictions that have declined to prosecute sex workers. Brooklyn also does not prosecute people arrested for prostitution but instead refers them to social services before they are compelled to appear in court, unless the district attorney's office there is unable to reach them.
The Brooklyn district attorney, Eric Gonzalez, in January moved to dismiss hundreds of open cases related to prostitution and loitering, and said that he would eventually ask that more than 1,000 be dismissed. The Queens district attorney, Melinda Katz, followed in March, moving to dismiss hundreds of prostitution-related cases.
Prosecutions for sex work had already been dropping dramatically over the past decade, said Abigail Swenstein, a staff attorney with the Legal Aid Society's Exploitation Intervention Project, with occasional spikes, such as one during 2014 when the Super Bowl was held at MetLife Stadium, in neighboring New Jersey.
She added that the vast majority of her clients over the last two years had been women arrested in massage parlors.
Swenstein said that Vance's move would likely "have reverberations for sex workers and trafficking survivors well outside of New York City" and that it would make them feel "less stigmatized". She commended the district attorney for having formulated the policy after talking to sex workers and others with relevant experience.
Vance's office had been in the practice of dismissing prostitution cases after sending those charged to mandatory counseling sessions. Going forward, Vance's statement said, such counseling sessions would be provided only on a voluntary basis.
Sex workers have been fighting for decriminalization for decades. But the 2019 formation of Decrim NY, a coalition of organizations that support full decriminalization and has worked to lobby lawmakers, represented a turning point for the movement.
In New York City, those calls have grown louder. Last month, Mayor Bill de Blasio and his wife, Chirlane McCray, called on the state to end criminal penalties for sex workers.
"The communities hit hardest by the continued criminalization of sex work and human trafficking are overwhelmingly LGBTQ, they are people of color, and they are undocumented immigrants," McCray said at the time. "Sex work is a means of survival for many in these marginalized groups".
Declining to prosecute prostitution and other related crimes has also been a focus of candidates aiming to replace Vance, who announced in March that he would not run for reelection. The majority has said that it would halt the prosecutions if elected.
Eliza Orlins, a candidate for the office and a former public defender, has been particularly vocal, releasing a comprehensive policy paper on the subject in which she said that she would fight to make it legal in New York to buy and sell consensual sex. Whether to prosecute those who patronize prostitutes has been a subject of consistent debate among feminist organizations.
In an interview Wednesday, Orlins said that she was happy to see the shift but that it had taken too long and that, in continuing to prosecute those who patronize sex workers, the office had not gone far enough.
"Am I glad that someone in a position as powerful as the Manhattan District Attorney's Office is finally speaking out and saying that we shouldn't be prosecuting people for engaging in their jobs? Of course I'm glad," she said. "But do I think that he deserves to be held out as heroic by the movement when he has not done enough and acted quickly enough? No".

I'm so sick of the media narratives, I stopped watching. I've litterally been a "Victim" of HNN fake news now. I can't say what, cause then you'd know who I was 😉. The corporate media and corrupt cohorts are looking for a subject change. "Illegal" short term rental? Really, who cares. I'd love to see a complete unedited police body cam and hear actual testimony from those involved. Hmm. Watch me get picked for jurry duty 🤣.

Liberal media was run by Rick which I don't care for anyways. Reminds me of a greaseball from jersey or New York.
Shame on them for making up stories for their own agenda. LOL "You ok?" I would be pissed to, to me that's like saying if I get mental issues fuck them would be what I would say also.

But this business of not being justified in shooting that guy I'm not so sure about.
He went through 3 guys like hot knife through butter If I'm the last cop witnessing that I'm definitely blowing the bastard away.
Whether he has personal beef with the owner seems beside the point the guy was acting strangely He could've just knocked on the door although having a big black guy ringing the doorbell in the evening in the middle of nowhere isn't such a great idea either.
Just being honest.

You bringing your SO with you?I rather live in the Philippines. I vibe with the people better there. Cheap but not super cheap as Americans claim. You can't get by on $500/ month now. You need at least $1000 or more and that's average living borderline comfortable. Most pinoys don't make enough there to buy a whopper meal for 300 pesos. A jollibee meal can cost over 100 pesos. Food is already a 1/4 their salary.
The minimum wage is 7-10 dollars in Luzon. 580 p in Manila City per day. Electricity and gas rate, cars, electronics, everything is more expensive there for filipinos but for us it's ok.
Real estate is expensive in Manila makati. A condo unit can cost over a million dollars for a 2-3 bedroom condo. Definitely not cheap in the city. You can buy a whole apartment building for that price. If I could pick I would go to visayas area its cheaper.

High crime, and it will be much worse when people find someone from so called rich countries.
Do not expect police will help for poor men from rich country who can not afford at least 3 K for safe lives. They will kick their inferiority (if you are a poor white male, their anger will be bigger).
South Africa, Guatemala, Philippines, India all. Poorer and poorer (higher and higher crime), it costed more and more if we are NOT local warrior who can take dirty bugs in soup and no AC in rain forest summer.
For safety and sanity, it costed a lot more than America. Of course ready for expensive emergency flight to richer country like south Korea, Singapore, japan when he is sudden my so sick and need intensive medical care.
There can we find decent job that can guarantee secured luxury condos for local riches? We know how rich Indian riches are, how much SE no brained son of super rich could spend for one night pleasure. American may be the cheapest for American who can not get jobs there.

Retirement visa / permanent residency is far easier and cheaper than Thailand, but real estate is similar. Makati and BGC areas have some absurd pricing, just like certain parts of Bangkok. Other provinces not as bad for housing, but are worse in other areas. Cost of living is one thing, but getting older and needing health care and stability, I don't think I would live in the Philippines full time. Malaysia is awesome though, slightly more expensive for food, but everything is top notch in Kuala Lumpur. Personally, I'll probably end up in Malaysia or Thailand with trips to the Philippines.

What a sham. This dude would've never got a free and fair trial as guaranteed by constitutional law to all Americans. Regardless of facts he was already tried and convicted by the public and media outpouring demanding Chauvin to be found guilty or else. Personally, I think Chauvin didn't receive the fair trial to which a defendant is constitutionally entitled (regardless of whether the prosecution's evidence is strong or weak). The jurors, who were residents of that area, would obviously know that if Chauvin was acquitted on all charges or even on the murder charges, the Minneapolis area would be in chaos with violent riots, damage to private and public property, arson, looting, and all the other behavior of furious protestors. Improper inflammatory statements by Representative Maxine Waters added to the problem. Notably, the trial judge denied the defense's pretrial motion for a change of venue. Here's the opinion of Alan Dershowitz, emeritus professor of law from Harvard Law School:
President Joe Biden, in his comments following the guilty verdicts in the Chauvin case, correctly pointed out that the jury was "under extraordinary pressure". This pressure came from the realization that if the jury failed to convict on the highest charges of murder, there would be violence in the streets. Every big-city police chief and mayor understood this reality and prepared for it. Yet, we are supposed to assume that the 12 jurors who convicted Chauvin of all the charges were not influenced by this obvious reality. The judge, who made an unconstitutional decision not to sequester the jurors, himself acknowledged that Congresswoman Maxine Waters had given the defense an appellate issue due to the statements she made before the judge finally sequestered the jury.
The American people can have no confidence that this jury verdict was not tainted by the threats of violence made outside the courthouse. Those threats almost certainly seeped into the jury room. American justice, and in particular our system of trial by jury, cannot survive if jurors are under "extraordinary pressure" to render verdicts that reduce the threat of outside violence. Trial by jury is a fragile institution that requires jurors to be insulated from external pressures. The judge in the Chauvin case recognized that jurors could well be influenced by the danger they might face if they rendered an unpopular verdict: He took the unusual step of keeping the jurors' names secret. This sent a message to jurors that publicizing their names might endanger their safety. Yet the media provided demographic profiles of these jurors nonetheless, clearly allowing them to be identified by friends and neighbors.
Not only did the judge refuse to sequester the jurors, he also gave them inadequate instructions about listening to outside sources. He repeatedly told them not to watch "the news". But television news is not the only source of information in the modern age. The vast majority of people get their information from other sources, such as the internet, podcasts, radio and television shows that are not necessarily "the news". There are also myriad personal contacts with friends and family members.
Yes very cheap only if he can survive as poor local ghettos can.

Who in their right mind would live in Africa. Are you local from hawaii? Many hawaii guys like going to PH or thailand. As I mentioned before everything is more expensive in the PH except labor. America is more expensive in labor. Did u know a damn iPhone 12 Pro Max is $1700 in PH over here its $1400. That's an insane markup and why rip-off the filipinos I dont understand why phones are higher there where they dont even make $1000 a month. For us americans its ok to live there if you have residual income.
I have no idea how the local population survives in PH but they get by. They are survivors I respect that.

My thought process is that the healthcare is cheaper and infrastructure better than the Philippines, condos are just as cheap. I just plan to use KL as a base of operations, so I can hop between Bangkok and Manila and wherever else in Asia without issue. If I need to do a visa run, all I need to do is hop on a cheap AirAsia flight back to KL instead of flying back to the states or worrying about being stranded anywhere. It's a hub for Asia so not hard to get around cheaply from there. Outside of typhoon season, going to Manila would be good, then maybe rainy season in Bangkok when it is cheaper than the high season. I've been to Malaysia a few times now and I didn't think it was that bad at all, no one there was imposing any religion on me any more than anywhere else. The prayer calls in the city would be a little annoying but I would eventually get over that and I wouldn't be staying there the entire year anyway. The only thing that hits hard from the Muslim governance is alcohol taxes, but Thailand taxes high too. I'm not a drinker so that wouldn't bother me at all. Singapore didn't bother me at all and there is plenty of action in KL and Singapore. I never had issues, but I blend in pretty well.
It's not anywhere close to the Sharia law they have in the Middle East.

That sounds like a good idea kuya to use Malaysia as a hub base in asia. I admit the woman in Malaysia are pretty nice and they got some thick bodies some of them with big assets. You can check out xhamster or youporn to know what I mean. Must be nice mongering in Malaysia.
I agree with you on PH having bad healthcare its crappy for americans, Philhealth is crap. Also the PH is one of the worst places to stay as far as natural disasters, it is the epicenter of typhoons almost all yr round and the humid hot weather to go along with that. Having experienced the humid weather there, even at night is unpleasant and I know how it feels. Poor infrastructure and corrupt gov't doesn't make it any better. Although I like the PH and its woman, I wouldn't live there for more than 3-6 months at a time.

If competition at NYC gets too intense, hopefully they'll return.I would still be careful about that. It's strictly a local the call. The laws are still on the books. They can go back to the old way overnight. They can also charge the girls and owners with felony crime of illegal business like they did here in Hawaii or harass them under the excuse of human trafficking.
Regarding the Manhattan district attorney office's new policy of not prosecuting sex workers for prostitution, of course I approve it, but I don't think that it goes far enough. As pointed out in the New York Times article that I posted on April 21, the Manhattan district attorney office "will continue to prosecute other crimes related to prostitution, including patronizing sex workers," in other words, prosecuting "people who pay for sex".
This is based on the idiotic theory that even customers who pay for voluntary sexual activities with consenting adult providers are "bad," are inherently exploiting the providers, and continue to deserve punishment.
As reported in the New York Times article, Eliza Orlins, a female candidate to be the next Manhattan district attorney, believes that it should be "legal in New York to buy and sell consensual sex". Orlins says that "the office had not gone far enough" in limiting the non-prosecution policy to sex workers and excluding customers from the non-prosecution policy. I agree with that conclusion.

Along with a super corrupt gov't and this BLM, antifa bullshit propaganda machine and the psychopath sociapath population makes it worse than PH. How often you hear of school shootings in PH? Mark Sykap, 18, was arrested for the alleged robbery. HPD says he and a 21-year-old used force and a "dangerous instrument" to rob a 20-year-old woman around 1 am Saturday at the corner of Kalakaua Avenue and Philip Street.
That's the same location where Iremamber Sykap, a relative of the suspect, was shot and killed by police earlier this month.

Loved ones of Iremamber have set up a memorial at that corner following the incident in which HPD refuses to release body camera footage. Saturday's victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Officers found Sykap back at the scene around 9 pm Saturday when the arrest took place. All monuments, markers, headstones, plaques and cornerstones must be installed in an approved location; need one permit for establish the aforementioned. HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - An 18-year-old man was arrested for first-degree robbery Saturday night near the scene of a deadly police shooting just weeks ago.

I used to rent an apartment right over on philip freakin crazy good thing I moved out a long time ago.Well, they stay moving in now and making house. Went past there this morning and some micro wahines was in one tent / shanty erected on the spot (and on the sidewalk) where the vehicle when go inside Kalakaua Canal. Looks like they there to stay with cooler, chairs, snacks, hoping for one settlement (all that's missing is the lawyer who going take their case).

That being the case since the Federal government negated, we should be allowed to deport not just the criminals, but the entire family as well back to either the States that benefitted from the atomic testing such as nuclear power plants or back to Micronesia. Why should taxpayers be responsible for their actions when we are hosting them with free benefits that we have to pay for?

I trusted the government I served US Marine Corp. Men died for these Ass Holes, What about the homeless Vets?I did my last 10 years at a joint services command and retired recently. Although the military consists of less than 2% of the population, civilians do not know how much sacrifice we make to keep America free. I used to live down at the veteran's housing in Barbers Point. Sometimes the homeless veterans would get card board from the trash bin and sleep in the bushes next to building. Many cannot handle the rules at the housing and prefer to drink or take drugs. The housing conducts random drug tests.

Thank goodness this lying SOB Mufi did not get into the General Election. The same is true for Hanabusa. Need to keep these chronic crooks out of office to keep them from ripping off the Hawaii people over and over again. From today's Star-Advertiser: "Colleen Hanabusa, ex-chairwoman of Honolulu rail board, gets $924,000 HART contract". It was assured that she was the only bidder for the contract by writing the specifications particularly for her. The "rail rat" infestation continues.
She went from leading rail to riding it.

If they actually built it and had it operating, I'm sure it would eventually change things for the better, but can't even get the thing started without this abortion of all logic, accountability, and proper civil engineering. I spent two months in Thailand earlier this year and every single year when I go to Bangkok, the rail system there keeps expanding and costs a fraction of what we paid here. It's cheaper in labor costs and all, but they actually get something done. The cost overruns alone in Hawaii are just ridiculous. A whole decade already and still not a functioning rail, not even the portion they built so far.
Here's a nightmarish situation for mongers. Although it occurred on the mainland, it could also happen here.
Mr. S, an attorney in his fifties who worked as an assistant county solicitor in Pennsylvania, had achieved the esteemed position of President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He was also a former Chairman of the attorney disciplinary board in Pennsylvania. Nevertheless, he presumably had sexual needs, so through an escort site he contacted provider Emily, who was in her twenties. Unfortunately, the unscrupulous Emily was secretly video recording their sexual encounter on her cellphone. Mr. S noticed, and asked her to stop. Rather than completely stop, Emily said she would only do audio recording, so Mr. S put on his clothing and left.
Emily then tried to extort Mr. S by text, threatening to post a nude video of Mr. S if he didn't give her $1,000 (later lowered to $700). Mr. S contacted the police, who had Mr. S return to Emily (under police surveillance) to ostensibly pay the extortion money. Emily tried to flee from the police, but was caught, arrested and charged with promoting prostitution, theft by extortion and sexual extortion. Mr. S himself was charged with the criminal offense of patronizing a prostitute, and has now publicly resigned as President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He has also either resigned or been placed on unpaid administrative leave (news reports differ) from his assistant county solicitor position.

Well when Jeremy Harris threaten to "spill the beans" on his fellow corrupt politicians, lawyers and cronies involved in this massive corruption, then former HPD Chief Donohue, shut down this crime unit and nothing became of Jeremy Harris. The same corruption continues because the entire Democratic single party system is so infested with corruption, that the entire State and City would probably be shut down if the FBI went after all these crooks.

If you are as unhappy as I am with the way this state is run, vote!! Vote at every opportunity and never vote for an incumbent!! Even if we get haphazard government, it will be better than the "good old boy" cronyism that is in place now. It starts at the bottom. Neighborhood board elections are underway now. Vote only for people who haven't had any experience. Same thing applies at the next general election. If we send Masie Hirono back to Washington, we deserve the idiocy that she represents.
Fix this crap. VOTE!! If you can't vote FOR someone, vote AGAINST the ones who have been so corrupt.
Rail is a big joke.
The rails wheels are too thin and the tracks are too wide, no shit! Break it down already before the first leg from Ewa breaks apart before 2035.Ensuring that the wheels properly fit the tracks at the track crossing points (rather than being about one-half inch too narrow) is something of such essential importance that it should have been done long ago. Now, according to a news report, "replacing the wheels will add too much weight to the trains," but "replacing the tracks would push the timeline back a year". Plus, there's reportedly "subpar welding and sandblasting that created cracks". Honolulu's rail boondoggle is like something managed by The Three Stooges.

You would think the City would be smart enough to put a contract clause making the engineering company responsible for fixing such a gross error, but apparently us taxpayers again getting the shaft while they enrich themselves. The recognized incompetence began when thousands of plastic shims needed to be replaced for the tracks at over $100 K. The shims when start to crack due to exposure to the elements (salt, water, sun) and delays in construction. Hawaii government is such a joke but the people keep voting these losers into office. Democratic authoritarian leaders that claim to know what is best for us, Mazie Hirono, David Ige, Josh Green and the list grows. The system continues to fail because the voting base in Hawaii allows it.

At this point, just shutdown the whole project and run the city buses on the concrete structures like a self contained highway, LOL.Yup, dey never seriously consider other alternatives and took on one project dey no can handle. IMO, the best option would have been one bridge over a part of PHarbor ($4-5 B) with low yearly operating and maintenance costs; this was heavily favored by (project engineering and accounting) friends as the most cost effective, practical, and would have been pau already. Anyway, what do we know? Right now they better off running one shopping cart and red wagon down the damn track.

In the beginning, former Gov Uncle Ben was on the right track. He said early on that in most major cities, rail is built from the most busy location first and working its way out to the suburbs. This way if we started at Ala Moana and built it going west, then we could start using it early on. But, if it worked out too well, then the crooks wouldn't be able to make all the extra kala with change orders and delays, favors, etc.
Kahikina coming in with her broom and dust pan trying to clean up 10+ years worth of opala. Heard that she’s cleaning house and getting rid of a lot riff-raff that were not doing much, now they all huhu at her. At least Lori has the background in opala, lol.

I don't know why everyone is so high on Kahikina. She really hasn't done anything good. Well, except cleaning house at the rail. But even that is going to cost us taxpayers, because it is going to cost us more to re-fill those positions.
But previously her big push was to charge us a fee for trash pick up, which I have opposed from the start when Mufi pushed for it. I remember Mufi coming on the radio and crowing that all these years trash pick up has been FREE! Free my ass! Haven't we all been paying our taxes all these years, for you asshole politicians to mis-manage the money and then have the nerve to comeback and "tax and fee" us to death to push for more money. So, no, trash pick up isn't FREE!
Then Lori Kahikina said her budget wasn't big enough and so she had to keep pushing for the trash pick up fee.
The other big thing (fuck up) I remember her for was a huge sewage spill that was her fault. What bothered me the most about it was when she came out and said "I take full responsibility for it".
So what! It meant nothing. There was no discipline and no repercussions to her for taking "full responsibility. ".
There was / is someone (or someone's) handling / protecting her. At that time I think it was kirk Caldwell. I haven't figured out who ushered / pushed her into the cushy rail position.
But it appears to me that she is rubbing some higher ups dick (or dicks).

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/554391-house-votes-to-condemn-atlanta-spa-shootings
"Sixty-eight percent of reported incidents of anti-Asian hate targeted Asian-American women, a population that has been historically marginalized, sexualized, and fetishized. "
More broadly, the resolution reaffirms the commitment of the House and the federal government "to combat hate, bigotry, and violence against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and to prevent tragedies like this from ever happening again. "
"Local sheriffs have tried to diminish these crimes by saying that the shooter had a sex addiction and a bad day. But he had plenty of other places to go in that time. Instead, he chose three places where Asian women would be killed," Chu said.
"There is no doubt in my mind that this was a hate crime."
Sometimes official help rather be wonderful excuse to fuck this hobby.
Officially confirmed "LE did not visit and watch massage parlor so tragic happened."
With all the oriental hate on mainland seems like Deshaun Watsons accusers are non Asian mostly white massagers and seems like he went to lajitamate massage places wanting extras and that was his bad judgement because if he went to AMP instead of a masseuse he wouldn't be in this mess and would be lined up to make millions because oriental masseuse keep their mouth shut and don't go crying to LE or lawyer and would treat him like king or emperor unless he was a total tool and should be prosecuted. Deshaun Watson shoulda been studying the forum like it was his play book so he could keep his job but he didn't. HPD just purchased a $150,000 robotic canine named SPOT. It will be used to take body temperatures of the homeless camps as HPD claims they don't want to get infected. SPOT should be used as a way to get photos of what officers are actually doing on the job. Officers don't want to use their body cameras (why) and also don't want the public to get their photos out. I know that the city will be using our taxes to compensate Doyouremember Skycap.

That's the real reason why HPD doesn't want to release the videos. It actually shows the police officers faces. It has nothing to do with the teens being photographed.

As Seattle did before, Le set up fake new shops and arrested 75 guys and show their mug shots. That's disgusting. Even though none of the men have yet been convicted of the charges, all of them are constitutionally entitled to the presumption of innocence, and some of them may have viable motions and defenses in court, the police publicly post the named mugshots on the internet and categorically state: "All suspects solicited and / or brokered deals for various sex acts". Note the police didn't say the men "are alleged to have solicited and / or brokered deals for various sex acts," but rather that they "solicited and / or brokered deals for various sex acts," as if that has already been established.

That means those degenerate Cops are getting extra money from the fed or a grant to do this BS and they supposed to make a news splash. Just like our Honolulu's finest ripping off the COVID fund and the prosecutor office cashing in on harassing AMP. Who cares if those arrest came to nothing. It has nothing to do with public safety. Lowlife cops are just there to scam the system.
Story on Hawaii News Now site. "Honolulu's new city prosecutor stops massage parlor, prostitution raids". He wants to concentrate on human trafficking.
Saw Mayor Blangiardi on HNN. Said he wants to move to tier 4 and sent a request to Gov Ige. Also said he revised restrictions for tier 4 but couldn't find what was revised. Don't hold your breath with Ige deciding what to do.

As Seattle did before, Le set up fake new shops and arrested 75 guys and show their mug shots. Not sure if HPD would go as far as to set up an actual brick and mortar AMP / Massage Palour / Spa to entice and arrest customers, but in the past they have set up on line ads and arrested customers who responded if they could get evidence of them offering money for sexual services. And a really long time ago they had undercover HPD female officers posing as street walkers who would try to get customers to offer money for sexual services which would result in an arrest.
Look like the money grab for almost fictitious human trafficking funding to shake down AMP brothels here is over for now. Alm set the record straight saying the efforts to date have proven to be a monumental waste of time and resources. Sad to hear the so called experts on TV totally clueless but sounding like they know.
Alm said he will focus on the real problem--gettin to them pimps. Good luck bro--I hope you succeed.

Honolulu's new city prosecutor stops massage parlor, prostitution raids.
https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2021/05/29/honolulus-new-prosecutor-stops-massage-parlor-prostitution-raids/That does not mean prostitution is not illegal in Hawaii. Any time le can do against.
And LE can not officially announce "prostitution is allowed though law says it is illegal."
Democrat president does not mean any foreigners will get status, any jumpers will get green card. More foreigners get deported while Obama (in my knowing). I think same way. We can not be sure hola this public official guarantee certain illegal thing.
24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, must be cautious. No. 1 rule for this hobby and job.
And Hawaii is not for top girls now. No money no honey. And sad Hawaii is very notorious to many working girls. More thing to so less money, too much bb pressure. That is not surprising most AMP women here are old or Hawaii residents who want to keep their butt at home.
Weren't LE doing this at the Ala Moana hotel this past December? A fellow monger reported it and they used fake profiles to lure mongers in.They've been doing that for a couple of years now at that location. One good example is that of fellow monger Darkman808 who got caught up in a sting at the Ala Moana Hotel and reported it last December. His report is in the "Safe Mongering in Honolulu" thread, #664. I strongly encourage any monger chasing the escorts to read about his experience.

Around the holidays. Did more than my DD than usual, even having her meet me on the ramp. She was really cool after the fact and when we started talking told her the UC in the hotel SO, she moved down the road where it was a little comfier. She went back home bc of some pilikia and now cannot leave until it is all cleared (GA.). Southerner BBW 6-1, EEs floppies, kitty was always itching and loved to get the 69's, and could suck a mean DTWS. Good fun when she was here, but pilikia will catch up to you. Long story and after doing some google checks, yupps, it is what it is. That Mantra place, IMHO, sketchy for us braddahsz. Be safe.

HPD's vice still going to do their thing. There's still federal money for human trafficking out there so these degenerate cops will find a way. You are right that most top girls are not here because of BB pressure and lower pay. Many told me that all covered and $$$ are standard for popular providers in the mainland. Most places in the mainland has a easier 9-5 type working schedule instead of a 12 hours shift (or longer) in most Hawaii places. We are still going to get quality girls here and there but the days of the empire or Rejuve are over.

Most feel pressured. Some do voluntarily to entice customers and steal from a friend over plucking mere 100 dollars.
Then she pretends she was "pressured" writing all over the board. No need befriend this kinda ho or bring her good business. LOL.

The ladies that are running these places need to ask the raiders for search warrants to enter their private business.
Their lawyers on retainer should give a briefing to all the ladies on what to do when the police arrive.
Make a handbook on what to do.

Make a handbook on what to do.Lock the door saying police search warrant 3 times and no answer or open door.
Then battering the door.
When le see someone inside, they address court search warrant. Sometimes doggies that can detect cash smells and drugs, but not as usual in Hawaii accept for Gogo spas (sorry but American le think local Americans are more nasty and shitty than Asian fobs) and Tokyo spa. Doggies are not arrogant chihuahua from grandma, they are very well tamed professionals so don't get freaked.
While you are inside during raid, just keep calm and be obedient. No need to be dumb superman for your girl.
Le (at least in Hawaii) are quite gentle to girls while they yell at treat guys inside like disgusting shit.
P.S. / one girl from Kison told me swat guys looked damn sexy with strong muscular built unlike her old skinny grandpas. 10 seconds real wet she experienced.

Who is going to pay for their upfront retainer if the ladies don't get arrested again and again. Their Latina single mom friend with choke criminal record never let the ladies know either. She will pretend a friend, but called the cop, got ladies arrested withheld info that you don't pay lawyers upfront, waited until they wasted money on retainer. Then she tells the ladies after wasting money they shouldn't pay lawyers upfront only in front of her Hawaiian boyfriend she was using for errands just to make herself look good to the bf as if she were a such caring friend.

That is why some of indicted girls and mamas (who were not supposed to be seen at AMP till all court shit is finally done. A matter of sense right? Even when charged of dui, lawyers advise to never be involved in any legal trouble at all) had to work at AMP on the sly (but there is no secret in Hawaii's AMP world).
When mamas and girls finally go for plea deal, usually on the condition that they are never seen at any suspicious places like AMP, game room and on the condition that they can not fly to another state or country without court's permission. Many be smart enough. Just meet reliable men outside, no big mouth. But some, with gambling issue, just come back to work. Gambling is such shitty drug.

Liar Louie?
The former Police Chief of Honolulu (and now convicted federal felon) Louis Kealoha can't seem to stop lying, even while under oath.
Here's an interesting news report about how when Kealoha was under oath in a lawsuit deposition, he made statements contradictory to statements he made while under oath at his criminal sentencing hearing: "Ex-HPD chief begins 7-year prison sentence for crimes he now denies".
https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2021/06/02/ex-hpd-chief-kealoha-begins-7-year-prison-sentence-for-crimes-he-now-denies
Excerpt:
"This was Louis Kealoha's opportunity to start making things right," Silvert said. "And, in fact, not only did he not do that, he went the opposite direction". He pointed out that Kealoha admitted to the crimes in a federal court hearing and that these statements now contradict that. "He stood before a federal judge, raised his right arm and swore an oath that these facts were true and that he was criminally responsible for having been part of the conspiracy," Silvert said. Silvert said Kealoha benefited from that by getting a lighter sentence for accepting responsibility.

Did that broke dick ever pay back the retirement money?
Did that broke dick ever pay back the retirement money? If you mean the $250,000 that Louis Kealoha was given in 2017 to induce him to retire as police chief, nope, it hasn't been returned. The federal sentencing court subsequently issued a restitution order for payment of hundreds of thousands of dollars to victims of his federal crimes, which takes legal precedence over repayment of the $250,000 to the City and County of Honolulu. In a prior news report, two lawyers were doubtful that Kealoha would ever repay that $250,000.

In a prior news report, two lawyers were doubtful that Kealoha would ever repay that $250,000.A convicted felon, Chief Kealoha was ordered to return the $250 K within 60 days; but it's only a paper judgment and he still thinks he has done nothing wrong (as evidenced by recent events). No can touch his retirement pension but the legal and moral thing to do is to return the referenced severance money. But he one delusional, convicted felon with no morals; millions already spent on his and Katherine's trials so far and not pau yet. Disgusting, disgraceful pariahs of society, those two.

Check out this bs how the hell does the state govt hire this killer who works in child welfare, which was high-profile and widely known in illinois. Than he marries an associate dean in the school of medicine UH? What the hell is wrong with this medicine PHD professors mind? Is the govt that stupid that they didn't know he was a killer because they only check local background check not a national agency check. This is downright scary and negligent and how's this he's working with children here and allowed to transport and be with kids. We need to get this kind haole out of here WTF. So incompetent the state!! If some local braddah found out he was working with kids he probably would get buried. I sure as hell wouldn't want him near mines!

What the hell is wrong with this medicine PHD professor's mind?Highly educated and presumably well paid as an Associate Director for Research at the UH medical school. Yet she chose to marry a convicted murderer who strangled his girlfriend to death and then raised a "temporary insanity" defense. Maybe she was desperate for a man, any man.

The HPD officers in big trouble with serious charges; hope they get 'qualified immunity,' if any; if no more, no more.

The grand jury already decided not to indict, which means the prosecutor had to present the evidence to a judge directly, and then the judge makes the decision. When a grand jury indicts, this process is skipped, and this is how a great majority of the cases work. The reason why this is so unusual, is because a jury not indicting is thought to be a predictor of a jury delivering a not guilty verdict. However, since anti-police sentiment and topics are race are so prominent now, I feel like going for a trial here is more of a political move to basically show "Hey, I might run for governor later. Remember when I did that thing to address racism and hold police accountable?
Ditto, bro. This beginning to smell like old cover my ass, LOL. Bet you dollar they all walk, just like Deedy justifiable so.

Sykap case twist Although it may be legally permissible, it seems fundamentally unfair to allow the prosecutor's office a do-over to present the case a second time. The prosecutor's office voluntarily chose to present the case to the grand jury, and the grand jury squarely rejected the case. So the prosecutor's office is attempting to negate the grand jury's decision by presenting the case a second time, now to a judge. Having freely made their choice to use the grand jury system, in my opinion the prosecutor's office should be required to abide by the results of the process they themselves selected.

After watching KHON2 tonight, Now the 3 cops are being charged with attempted murder and they will go to trial. The body cam evidence doesn't match what the cops say from the court files. They can face life imprisonment if convicted. If the cops fuked up than I'm all for justice but we will see how the case goes.Alm has extensive experience as a prior US attorney and circuit court judge so lots of contacts with the feds and DOJ. My theory is that he got word that after the city's grand jury declined any charges that the feds and DOJ were taking an interest in the case if the city was not going to take another look, especially with HPD's stellar reputation with the feds. So Alm reviewed the grand jury proceedings and the evidence presented or omitted. Probably came to the conclusion that there were flaws and that the feds had a very strong case to investigate HPD and the city's judicial system.
Got to hit all cylinders for the *charges (1-murder; 2-attempted murder) to uphold: case law, probable cause, sustainability of charges (defense going get the alleged crime spree witnesses and other criminal charges (stolen vehicle, robbery, theft, armed robbery, etc.)) leading to the arrest; replica weapon going be used as probable cause and 'indisputable point of contrast,' if get proof the kid when draw the weapon or if found in or near the body / vehicle (in odda words, he when reach for the replica weapon and was sighted by the officers before they fired their weapons). The HPD officers in big trouble with serious charges; hope they get 'qualified immunity,' if any; if no more, no more.
This one unusual case (due to grand jury and prosecutorial positions) and, as previously mentioned, best Sykap going get is plea deal, all IMO. Either way, we going pay big bucks. The cops are on desk duty currently. The attorney is seitz and high profile attorney on the sykap case. Also the nuuanu shooting has new video footage from the ring camera. Its a Chinese national crying and bitching and saying it was a break-in no it wasnt she was over dramatic and acting like a little girl. Shooting wasnt justified in my opinion.

I agree its a political move to save face.

Ditto, bro. This beginning to smell like old cover my ass, LOL. Bet you dollar they all walk, just like Deedy justifiable so.
I wonder is they all going fly in and start protesting like in the states they. Did it before.Personally I think this is crazy that Alm is taking this to trial over ruling the grand jury's decision. He does know that he needs the cooperation of HPD for other cases right? From what I understand, this isn't going over well with the rank and file HPD officers. There may be a lot of sick outs when the prosecutor's office needs LEO to testy at court. Alm should let the Feds investigate this case and go from there.
There is no way we get to 70% of the population immunized as he is using only 30% of what's inside that coconut. How many still haven't received any of their unemployment checks? How long does public records remain restricted to the public? Till the pandemic goes away 70%?Yah, no way state going to get 70% with all the new tourists flying in.

Now guys with covid remember we have to "trust the science". The governor obviously made a scientific discovery regarding masks that the CDC is not yet aware of and he is withholding that information for our own safety but I am sure he will share the science with the rest of the world soon enough and Hawaii will be seen as being ahead of the curve with everyone else going back to masks. I don't know why the CDC didn't consult with Dave Ige before they made their no mask commendation but it was an oversight on their part.
Alm will learn what payback is all about, LOL. Wait, watch and see--totally agree he's burning a bridge at least for now regardless of the outcome. Still bet they all walk, even the cop beating one--that pro athlete beat the crap out of popo, so unless he was mentally challenged and couldn't identify popo even after living hear for over a year, he crossed way over the line. Two stupid's doesn't make it right. Popo going win.
Just ask Deedy--LEO going walk when LEO takes a beating.
