Just got back after a nice trip to Hong Kong went to Adelitas first. Did not have an issue despite the caravan although the security did step up a bit. Still no big deal had a great time. Seemed a bit slower than usual for a Saturday. They claimed the caravan did slow things up a bit with tourism.

Along San Ysidro Blvd, you can park free on side streets, especially behind the KFC. It's safe there, but watch out for street cleaning days and hours when tow truck bastards are anxious to tow your car.
Don't park in strip malls as store owners collude with tow truck operators to tow your car.

Cascada's reception guys will raise eyebrows if 2 guys share the same bed, but I don't think they can stop you. Both have to give them your hands for them to tie 2 wrist bands.
Why not rent a double with 2 separate beds for additional $15?

According to local news outlet Punto Norte, the three teens were tortured before they were shot in the back of the head. No shell casings were found at the scene and not a single witness has come forward.
The LOS Angeles Times reports that Gomez and Suarez-Ojeda crossed the USA -Mexico border last Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, to attend a barbecue in Ensenada, a city in Baja California, Mexico. Relatives confirmed that the teens did make it to the barbecue, and they were supposed to return home the same night. When they didn't, family members contacted authorities and reported them missing.

Yeah truly sad. Something happened and there is probably more to this story. I would look at the guy who was the Tijuana resident first. The lomas verdes area is a area you shouldn't be in. It's not even close to the tourist area. I can tell you this if you mind your business, do your thing and have fun then its all good. Stay in the areas designed for "tourist" unless you are with someone who is very reliable and you trust. I have been going to Tijuana for the last 12 years with over 30+ crossings and zero incidents. I have also been as far as Ensenada and Rosarito on a few occasions. I went to Tijuana last night, stayed over, and came back across no issues at all.

Stay on the touristy parts, don't walk drunk in public (uber or taxi if you must move bars more than a 1/2 block) and keep your phon e in your pocket. You will be safer than walking in San diego. Anyone who speaks perfect English is a huge red flag when you are outside. Mongers / Gringos in the club are ok, but none will hail / address you outside unless they are idiots. Stay away from idiots, deportees and anyone yelling "quantos. ".
Follow this and you will resonably be sure of never seeing harm unless you walk up on thee scene of someone who didn't follow these rules.
The migrant issue seems to be having a lesser effect on border crossing. The only real differences now are increased helicopters hovering (usually DHS), policia and Federales, as well as humanitarian / news reporters near El Chaparral. I messed with one on Friday. I was walking off the new bridge towards El Chaparral when two reporters with cameras were getting onto the bridge. I jokingly said "you missed it, they all went home," thinking the absurdity of it would make it an obvious ruse / joke, but the female journalist looked very distressed, stopped crossing and said "really? Theres no one there? They all left?" I felt bad instantly because she looked genuinely sad, and so I said "No, I'm just kidding with you. They are all still there. ".

The situation has improved a bit in the Zona since last Fall / Winter. The Ratero's were much more active in the Zona last Fall / Winter on Constitucion. The Ratero's were mugging people in plain view on the north side between Calle Primera and Cohuilla street. The one good thing is that police have arrested or chased away most of the Ratero's in the Zona now. I have seen very few police on the pedestrian bridge area lately. It is really ridiculous that the city has not fixed the lights on pedestrian bridge ramps and stairs. Part of the problem is that police corruption is still rampant and LE efforts is largely reactive.

I know that some unprecedented stuff is going on in TJ right now and submitting reports is fine. The border is open/closed. Teargas is/is not in the air. Violence is/is not happening. All that is fine.

Personally it's really worth looking for SG's until 12 pm. These days you have to spend a min of $20 to find any SG's worth going with. These days I usually don't arrive in the Zona till around 6 pm or 7 pm. Although sometimes I can find Jamie around 3 pm if I am lucky. Mondo.US side for sure. There are a handful of places near the trolley station. They all advertise their rates on signs and they do vary a lot. The last one on the left, don't ask me the name, seems to be where I usually exchange money. I have no idea the fee. I can't speak first hand but am told the ATMs are the worst. For me, the sport of picking hookers like candy in a candy store, legally, for 1/3rd to 1/2 what it is in the US and great food sorta makes the rate and fees not matter so much.
I don't go to Tijuana to get cheap sex, I go to get really great sex that happens to be cheap.

Usually the best exchange rate is either next to 7-11 (across from KFC) or ABC cambio behind (north) of KFC. A week or two they were 20.6 when every one else was 20.1 for a $1. I bought about $200 worth of pesos which at 200-300 pesos per streetgirl visit will last me a long time.
These places have no commission. If youre using a bank with fees you will have to do homework on whos there best when you factor all the costs. Get on US side for sure. Only time TJ is better is when the US dollar drops fast in value. The US side will drop the exchange rates fast and TJ takes a day or two to follow.

I decided to go on what will be my last visit for a while. I crossed PedWest around noon, the lady working the desk just asked if I was Mexican and when I said no while pulling out my passport she just waived me through without even looking at it. Funny how those procedures change day to day.
I took the taxi to HK, got a drink, and sat down to check out the scenery just to get myself warmed up. After the drink, I did my standard walk through of adelitas and the back alley to check out the action. While at Adelitas, I ran into Alexsandra, who had given me her number and texted me a couple times since my last visit. These are just precautions, using street smarts in any risky locations, to make sure you will have safe, good times so you can return for more encounters with the sexy chicas in the future:
Take taxi or UBER bwtween the border and Hong Kong club on Coahuila street.
Stay in the bars and walk only around the well-lighted bar block with lots of people, bar touts, cops, vendors and security cameras. Avoid dark sidewalks and small alleys. Walk in the street to avoid potential choke hold assaults.
Look behind you occasionally and keep track of anayone following. If some one keeps following you closely, stop, back up agasint the wall or power poles, stick your hands into your pocket like you are ready to pull out a big knife to fight. That would deter rateros.
Don't let anyone stick close to you or touching your body. They may be picking your pockets.
La Zona is probbaly much safer with high density of policia patrols than most big cities in US, Asia. Europe and South / Central America. I have been going to La Zona for over 18 years, mostly at night, by myself, drinking lots of beers in the bars, walking around inspecting street girls ect, but I have never been threatened, assaulted, robbed or pick pocketed, although I have no resemblance to mean, old Arnold hehe.

If you see police hanging out it is a good idea walk on the other side of street. I can get plenty to drink, good food and a fabulous fuck for less than the average so-so call girl in the States wants.
If I am going to Hong Kong, dollars are fine. Street girls, other rooms, street vendors, restaurants, the pharmacy, I use pesos.
Just make sure you get the current rate and can do the rough math in your head or it will drive you nuts.

3) Go outside building, follow the throngs to the street area. Across the street, there is a taxi queue. Go over and stand in it.
4) When it's your turn, (I've never had to wait more than a couple minutes) get in a taxi. Tell the guy "Hong Kong" - he will know exactly where you mean.
5) Ride there, give the guy five bucks (or whatever it is, it may be six).
6) Get out, proceed directly into club.
If you want to take the "HK" van / limo, replace the steps after crossing the border with "loiter around until it pulls up on that same street as the taxi queue" and "tip the driver" but I think it stops on the near side of the street.
On the way back, you can either get a lift from their shuttle back to the border or just walk out, there are generally taxis right there. The bouncer dudes can probably get one for you if not. Add a step for ignoring the beggars on the path back to the US.

-When you get inside the building sign will read "foreigners". The Mexican border agent will ask you where you are going and for how long. This is only to see if you need a visa. Say Tijuana and for a day or however long you are going. You only have a fee and have to get a visa if you stay over a week.
-Exit building keep walking and eventually you will see the taxis. The first set of taxi drivers prior to the end charge a little more (kind of like a VIP "service" If you don't want them keep walking and right in front of you is all the other taxis. Most speak some English. Say where you are going. They say get in. You say how much right before you get in. Always ask how much before you take off so you won't get overcharged. For where you are going nothing should cost more than 5/6 bucks.
-Exit cab, go in club, have fun.
-When you are ready to leave exit club and there should be a cab if not door man can get you one.

So I have walked across the border and done the track to the Zona many, many times and most end the same, cross the border, grab taxi, walk around, find a few girls, have my way and perhaps a few beers and return. The SG / SW and the action in the Zona starts returning to normal in February. I have been down several times within the past month or so and always found good girl to satisfy my needs. In the end it is worth visiting Tijuana if you live in SD. But if you are from out of town I would wait till Feb. The only caveat is that there is some girls that leave for vacation in February. Are you required to buy certain amount of drinks while in the club? I dnt drink alcohol so would it be a violation NOT to buy any? Most Tijuana bars only serve local brands, Tecate, Dos Equis ect. Which are pretty bland and tasteless.
HK has all sorts of premium brands. They sell a $7 Heineken cover at the door but you can exchange it at the main bar Kowloon for any drinks, including tequila, Whiskey, Cognac, Vodka shots, mixed drinks, fruit juices ect.
After the first cover beer, at the bar local beers are $4, premium beers are $5. I prefer Bohemia, a tasty full-body Mexican beer, probbaly the best. Modelo is good too. Corona is too thin and sour for my taste. Anything you want, ask the meseros for details and make them work for their tips.

Honestly, I HIGHLY recommend paying cash for anything you do there, unless you're making a hotel reservation online. I personally get what cash I need before I cross the border, and that's my limit for the trip. I've never stayed at Ticuan, so I can't say anything about it. For the last 18 years, I go to Tijuana by myself or with a few bros, sometimes twice a week.

1. HK's VIP card, $50 for 3 months, gives you 80% discount off for any room in hotel Cascada and Monday and Tuesday. Single rooms would cost only $12 vs $65 full rack rate. Other days only 20% off. It also gives you other perks. Cascada is the best, cleanest, most convenient to date girls hotel in Zona Norte. I have never had anything stolen from me in Cascada. Most street giorls would walk to Cascada. You need to book reservation on line early, or rooms may be sold out on major holidays.
2. UBER and Taxi rates are about the same, 50 pesos or $3 from border to HK club on Coahuila. UBER has to wait but Taxis are everywhere. Hold out a 50 peso note or $3 to make sure they agree before riding.

In my case Bank America does not charge for foreign transaction. Daily cost would range from $210 for 2 street girls to $350 for 2 bar girls. $1,000 for 3 days is workable. I always deal in pesos and get lower local rates from the girls.

1.) The HK card is great if you plan on mainly staying and spending money there. If not, then it's not really worth it. Also if you stay at the HK hotel, then you can only take girls from the HK up to your room. Again, if you're okay with that, then stay there. It is the nicest and newest hotel in that area. The hotel can sell out on major holiday weekends. On a regular weekend, maybe not. If you are worried about not getting a room there, then make a reservation online ahead of time. DO NOT USE A CREDIT CARD AT ALL UNLESS IT'S TO PAY FOR YOUR HOTEL ROOM AT THE HOTEL! I personally always get the cash I need before I head into Mexico. I normally only take $200-$300 with me though and usually have some left over. A typical girl in HK could cost you like $100-$130 a session. So a grand would be more then enough for 2 nights of fun. A street girl could cost you as cheap as $20-$30 for a 10 minute quickie, or $50-$70 for something longer. A call in escort could run you $100-$150, and that's usually for a hour.
4.) West is the newer crossing, and the closest to where the border parking is. I normally cross into Mexico from there. I have never crossed into Mexico at the East crossing. I've heard reports about the West crossing not being open 24 hrs to cross back into the US, while the East one is normally open 24 hrs to cross back in. The hotels that I got a free ride back to the border, and the 1 Uber ride I took, all dropped me off at the East crossing. I don't know why, but they always dropped me off at that crossing. Maybe it's because I go back early (6 am-8 am) and the other one isn't open yet, but every time I crossed back into the US, it's been through the East crossing. There's been times I've had to wait an up to a hour in line, and other times I was only in line 10-15 minutes.

It is always best to use the ATM's in the US before heading to Tijuana. I would recommend going to your banks ATM before heading to South Bay. Some of the banks like Chase have fewer ATM's in Chula Vista & San Ysidro. If you do have to use the ATM in Tijuana I recommend going to HSBC that is located by 2nd and Revolucion. The only caveat is that it closes around 6 pm I believe. I would avoid the ATM's in the Zona they charge outlandish ATM fees.

It should never be above $5. $6 TOPS if you want to be generous. I have even gotten them for $3 from time to time. But yeah if you're paying more than 5/6 please stop. Would starting at 200 pesos for a SG, or $50 for a girl in HK be a reasonable starting point? I could see myself going up a little bit from that, but I also don't want to vastly overpay. I'm not used to negotiating, so I'm just trying to think about it ahead of time since its something I'm not used to.

My personal strategy is to get an early pop with the SG, usually they can be had for about 20 FS and BJ, but usually with top on (I don't like seeing the stretch mark / baby damage). By getting the first nut out of the way, I can last longer with say an adelitas or HK. Try adelitas and chicago out, you may find something you like. You can get drink specials there so you can save some cash if you need to drink. As stated, don't draw attention to yourself. Walk with purpose and don't fall for the endless homeless tipping.

For Monday-Wednesday as it seems this is a bit of a slower time, what should I be realistically paying for arriba? I'm not used to negotiating, so I'm just trying to think about it ahead of time since its something I'm not used to.

Before I embark on this trip, I have two questions to ask the members of this forum. First, I am an older white male.
Fit and in good shape but retirement age old none the less. Will my age have an affect on attracting the young bar girls to spend time with me in the bar and in a short time room? Second, on the sister forum, there is a lot of stories of broad daylight muggings, police shakedowns, etc. I recognize that some bad stuff must go on, but how pervasive is it? It's sweet to be able to communicate even the most basic things with the girls. I've stayed at Rizo's before. It's right across the street from HK. Hands down, quality wise the Cascades is the nicer between the 2 places, but it's also the most expensive place to stay in that area. As someone mentioned though, if you are on one of the lower floors of the Cascades, you can easily hear that loud club music in your room playing all through the night. I've only stayed at 4 different places in the Zone Norte, but I would say that quality wise the Rizo is the second nicest places I've stayed at so far. The room was nice and clean, and had a nice bathroom in it. I didn't have a noise problem. The only real problem I had, was that for some reason, the front desk wouldn't give me the remote to control the AC / Heater unit in the room. They had to come into my room to turn the AC unit on and off, and adjust the temperature. This was back in Oct when I stayed there, so it was still a little warm out. So I asked them to turn the AC on, and then it got to cold in the room. So I asked them to turn it down, and instead they turned it off. It was rather comical what I ended up going through to finally get it adjusted to make it tolerable.

Rizzo de Oro is drab and depressing with paint peeling off the walls.
Hotel Cascada is newly remodeled, nice, clean, fresh with new rooms, new furnishing, mood lights, a lot nicer place to have sex with bar or street girls. You can take girls from Hong Kong, Las Chevelas, Tropical or from the street to Cascada. They are more likely to go with you to Cascada than walking across the street to Rizzo.
Both hotels ar eprcied abotu the same, FRizzo is a few bucks cheaper, and have about the same noise level from the clubs. Cascada's rooms on 6, 7 and 8 floors are new, nice, clean and quiet. The clubs are okay, but the SG / SW quality has really gone down during the daytime over the past 2-3 years. Karina is about the only SG worth going with during day. These days 6 pm is about the earliest I will head to the Zona. Usually I try and arrive around 7 or 8 pm. If go any earlier you end up having to kill time until the better looking girls come out. I first ventured into Tijuana for Super Bowl Sunday (alone). I did the walk during the daytime from the border to Zona Norte (allow about 20 - 25 minutes and stay sharp). I would not recommend doing the walk at night. Had some bomb tacos at the HK taco stand. I then ventured into Chicago at a mesero's suggestion. Decent talent but I wasn't blown away. Had a beer and ordered one for the girl I was talking to (she said she was from Cabo). Good first impression.
I returned this weekend with a friend at night and wow, I was blown away. We did a quick circuit of the block in Zona Norte. Pretty good street talent (some looked too young). It seemed like it took the phone awhile to cross over to the Mexican system (not sure if that is the right way to put it). As soon as you got out of customs you should have just jumped in a cab and said Hong Kong and you would have been fine.

How hard can it be? Cross the border on foot at either entry and there are literally dozens of taxis waiting to take you anywhere for $5 max. Tell them Hong Kong and you're there in a couple of minutes. Once you get there it's like a mini version of the Las Vegas strip for mongering.
I lived in Tijuana for many years with a US cell phone. If you're having issues with the signal, I suggest you turn off the phone and turn it back on. This will reset the network. You can also toggle airplane mode off then on. Either way should do it. Also, if you have time, recalibrate your GPS before you cross into Mex.

At about 1:00 he looks left and basically that's the entrance to the alley. At about 1:25 he walks past a parking lot on the right, and that's exactly on level with the alley on his left. If you finally get a passport, get the passport card as well. I think it's $40 extra with a passport book. With the card, theres no where to stamp and less evidence that you wandered across. But seriously, if you don't have a passport you're missing out on the world, not just TJ. My friend got shit from the MX border patrol guy on his way INTO TJ, and asked why he didn't have a book, but they still let him cross. I think the card was still new at the time so they didn't know better. I have no issues using my passport card since I got it a year ago.
Global Entry is something you should invest into too. Makes crossing the border back into US a breeze.

Mon and Tuesday HK's VIPS have 80% room discount in Cascada. Single room would cost about $14, doubles $18. HK would have a lot fewer guys, like half, compared to weekends, also fewer girls, but I still find most top-tiered girls working.
The club is cooler, less frantic, the girls more relaxed, have more time to spend with you, and usually agree to lower rates. HK gives 2 free beers. We would order 2 dinners for $10 with Azul's 2-4-1 coupon and invite a few girls to share, generally good times.
Trying to get some intel on Mon / Tues events and line up. I live farther away, so most of the time make it to TJ on a weekend, sometimes on Thurs. Hoping Monday and Tuesdays will be just as popping with less dudes and more cicas, or at least the ratio in my favor. Do girls usually start at lower price or perhaps its easier to negotiate for lower price? Hows the talent and fun in other bars like Tropical?
I'm planning to pick up the VIP card to, since the mark down for the room makes it worth it. But any other advice would be helpful. Hows the crowd? Drink specials? Any other advice helps.

It's hard enough getting BBBJ. I can't imagine getting offered BBFS without a long relationship with the woman, or a lot of money involved. But would love to hear different.It can happen. My last visit, met a girl at Adelitas. We just clicked. She's probably a 7 or 8. Very friendly. And I knew right away that she'd be good to go. I kept turning her down for arriba. We drank for a couple hours. Finally, she talked me into coming back to my hotel (Ticuan). Quoted me $100 for 2 hours. In the room, started immediately with BBBJ. Things progressed and she tried to get me BBFS. That's a no go for me. I'm kinda proud I stuck to my guns at that point. LOL.
She stayed the whole night. Hit it 3 times that night. (Two of the three she said no condom. But I held firm.) Ordered room service for breakfast. Finished with another round. Handed her $150 and she was thrilled. Exchanged numbers and had basically the same experience the next night.
As for BBFS, it has been offered to me. This one was different because it was more of a request. But that's not a risk I'm willing to take. I would not expect it but depending on the comfort level between you and the chica, it's not unheard of.
I have another trip coming up. We've stayed in touch and she said she wants to spend "many more nights together". Not sure that I'm for many more nights but definitely good for 1 or 2.

I'm like you and mostly prefer protection, but I've taken a few chances afterwards stressing about possible STDs or pregnancy! I usually carry a few condoms. I've found the Lifestyle brand is the most compact and it's slim rectangular packaging less obvious as a condom if wearing tight pants. Enjoyed your post! Thanks for sharing!
