Moving to San Diego and will mis the Memphis scene. I know I have not posted much lately, and that is due to the traveling back and forth.
I will mis the trips through Lamar, National, E/P, Brooks..etc....I will hold on to the memories of time spent at Graceland Inn, when you could drive throught he parking lot and they came out of the rooms to greet you.
I'll mis the days of (upstairs) at The Pony, VIP room at Platnum; VIP room at Babes. I'll mis Diva's and the number of parlors at Getwell and Shelby (next to Subway).
To all the senior members -- watch out with all the new members. Seems like a lot are coming out of the wood work. I know we always like new members, but man, they are everywhere now.

I am about to be going on a couple week long trip to several major US cities so I decided to start brushing up on the places to go see while I am in these cities and I realized something - Memphis is an anamoly. Meaning go to any large city Chicago, SF, Dalls, Atlanta etc and non of them have nearly the posts/activity the Memphis forum does. Does this mean we are better at what we do? We are more willing to share what we do? Memphis has a better scene then most places? We are bigger horn dogs then other places? Just funny that Memphis (the armpit of society) has damn near the most activity of any other city on this board. I am not complaining at all - just think its funny.

Speaking of cameras... I don't think I noticed it before, but on Lamar there's a telephone pole on the street next to babes show club (can't remember the street name). Regardless, I did notice (what I believe to be) a camera on the pole. Was wondering why you never see SW's in that area anymore.
Also, on the heat being turned up in Memphis. There were articles in the Commercial Appeal and the Memphis Flyer talking about the heat being turned up and cameras recently. So, be careful out there guys. I don't necessarily have a problem with the cops doing police work, I just wish they would do police work on the right things. I think there was a letter to the editor today of the CA about how many police hours it took to bust some nudy bars, yet our murder rate was 300 during that time. I believe resources could be better spent on other things myself. I just hate it when they are hypocrites (in other words, partaking themselves but then busting SW's and John's). Total BS in my book. Again, shout out to the good cops out there that know their job.
Of course, on the other hand... how can we expect any leadership or prioritization in this city when it seems many of the politico's are on the take (ie - Edmund Ford and Ricky Peete recently)... not only that, but the morons reject a measure to simply ask them to resign (not require it). Amazing!
And... wow, there were quite a few SW's out today on Lamar... of course they all disappeared around 2 pm.

I think that's why many of us get so addicted to this kind of a hobby, because it's entirely random. Some individuals prefer the escort services; where you make a call and at the specified time the girl you requested shows up at your door. These are probably the same individuals who drive the same way to work everyday and have a particular restaurant that they frequent all the time (nothing wrong with that, it's your choice).
Then there's the gambler's who are more likely to enjoy the SW scene. Some days you roll craps and wind up with nothing. Other days you come across that hot, new chick that absolutely knocks your socks off for a quarter (and you can't find her again in a million years after that). I would venture to say that many people who enjoy SW's probably drive different ways to work once or twice a week just to see if that day is a "lucky" day.
They say that the most addictive things are completely random (like slot machines, etc.). And indeed finding a great SW for a pittance is totally random.
That's why I think those who enjoy escort services exclusively and those that enjoy SW's exclusively will likely never see eye-to-eye. They just most likely have different personalities and preferences.

A lot of this is due to the fact that the local news channels last year actually did a wonderful thing for this site. They did several stories on "usasexguide.info" where they talked about how this site reports on the Memphis SW scene.
Remember numerous people on the board were complaining about the News stories "exposing" this site; however, many of us welcomed the exposure as free advertisement.
In fact, the number of participants and the number of posts skyrocketed in the weeks following those news stories. And thankfully many of them became long-time senior members.
If a news story were to run on the local station in SF, NY, DC, what would they do? *yawn* No big deal. The SW scene is an accepted part of the world in the mega-cities.
However, in Memphis (which is still relatively small compared to the NY's and SF's as well as in Bible-belt country), many people tuned in just to watch that story, and it got lots of viewers and in turn led to lots of newbies for the site.
Many of those newbies stayed on.
I can't thank the local Memphis news enough for running that story last year. Prime-time advertising that you couldn't pay for in a million years!

My friends and I were discussing the “if I were Leo” subject, while hanging out and watching TV(slow weekend). I thought I might share a little bit of our tiny moments of clarity. First, the few facts we worked with..
1. Multiple (many) cameras being installed all over the city-both in the open, and hidden.
2. In January, MPD will separate from the "metro" DUI units.
3. The displaced DUI officers will be used in full time Blue Crush ops.(important point-DUI is different than raiding that armed crack house..)
4. MPD will create its own DUI unit the first part of the new year.
5. Justification will be needed for funding of the new units.(that means lots of arrests to show the thing is working)
6. In order to make a successful re-election run, WWH has to focus on cutting crime in Memphis-or at least making headlines for “sort of” cutting it.
Now, let’s see…what type of “item” or “subject” can fit the mold needed to painlessly solve this crime issue for Leo, who seems to be more afraid of “Pookie” the Gangster Disciple..
A. Leo is cheap. So the “item”(offense) would need to have a low cost-to-bust ratio.
B. Leo is lazy. So he wants minimal use of equipment and manpower. (now, who willingly drives to areas with hidden cops and hidden cameras?)
C. Subjects detained by Leo should either be not respected by the general public(sws), or shamed into keeping their trap shut(guess who?).
D. SWs should be easily manipulated by Leo into giving info, or at least be stupid enough to compromise the subject. (reference post number 1655 in this section)
E. ID and capture of subjects should be easy for Leo(vehicle license plate).
F. If a sw just “happens” to drop drugs in the subject’s car, Leo now has a “drug bust”.
G. Drugs and the p-word make good headlines, along with the words “gang-related”. Leo’s job would be more secure with each BS bust, and he wouldn’t have to actually go take down the drug houses in the city…
H. Crime drops drastically with the temperature, but Leo has to justify PD overtime, and a new unit budget. (hobbyists have heated cars, so they’ll be out there)
Conclusion: IMHO, the poor horndog driving his own car for…research...is risking far too much…and the extra careful connection with one of Stacie’s friends, or Calling MJ, might not be such a bad idea to those that are so inclined…just a few thoughts…

Memphis has alot of action because we have such a large black population. Over the years I can count on one hand the # of times I have been turned down by black ladies. It's been a great week to be a monger in Memphis. All the regulars seemed to be out this week on the major strolls, but I was in the mood for something different. So I had another stroll through the backstreets of Memphis; it seems there is just no end to where the SW's hang out.
I was over on Somerville near Peabody and came across a WSW named Tiffany. She's 26, blonde, proportional (not too skinny, not overweight). Not a hardbody either. She has one of those "granola-crunchy" personalities with the odor of pot to match.

Thought I would make a couple more runs before I leave town in 3 weeks.
