Was out Sunday eve and observed a couple of good ones while driving up and down the Ave. Being careful, I always drive past them to check out the area from all angles. Then I try to go around the block for a pick-up.

If you are only standing on the street and talking, (i.e., not doing anything that could be remotely interpreted as criminal or suspicious) they cannot just ask for ID or what you are doing or where you are going. Also, they cannot search your pockets.
If they stop you while you are in a car, they CAN ask for license and registration, however, AND they can look around in the immediate area where you can reach.
So if you are a believer in the US Constitution, while it may be uncomfortable to refuse the officer's request, it is absolutely acceptable to ask the officer why he is asking for the ID.

That's mostly accurate. Under Terry v. Ohio standards, they can ask for ID and you have to produce it if the officer has "specific articulable facts leading to a reasonable suspicion that an offense has taken place or is about to take place." They can also pat down your exterior clothes for weapons but not go into your pockets.
The practicality of the matter is that any cop on the street for more than a week can flub "specific articulable facts" and you don't want to spend the money litigating a challenge to the legality of the stop. Best course of action is to avoid the potential for the encounter to escalate into a confrontation. It's fine to ask why he needs to see ID and what you did wrong. Remember most cops get a hardon throwing their weight around and they're cops BECAUSE they're that type of person.
As for being a believer in the Constitution, that document is dying a slow but quiet death under our current leadership. Don't get too comfortable, this is rapidly turning into Amerika. You wouldn't believe the crap I see in my profession - the government is disappearing people at a furious rate.

[Senior members, please forgive--I think these rules bear repeating. ]
If I had read these rules, I would not have had many of the negative experiences I have had. :
1) Only carry as much $$ as you are willing to lose. I carry a nearly empty "monger's wallet" and always stash my wallet and extra cash in a hidden spot.
2) Be VERY cautious if the "SW" on the street looks TOO good (I. E. , in Cincy, they DON'T dress in stilettos, leopard prints, or other obvious hooker outfits.)
3) Do not call attention to yourself by making a show out of the stop (no U turns, no flagrant traffic moves). After you catch her eye, pull onto the next side street and let her come to you. Alternatively, go smoothly around the block. Avoid shouting or wildly waving SWs.
4) When she comes to the car, be willing to drive away if your close up impression of her through the window is not good. (Sores, too thin, wired, dirty & stinky, sullen or "dead" eyes? They are NEVER as good as your first impression driving by.) Tell her, sorry, you thought she was someone else.
5) Ask her if she needs a ride. She should say "Yes" and hop right into the car. Do NOT negotiate through the window. This is the monger's acid test! LE stinging decoys will NOT get into the car. I've long said that in addition to having fantastic skills, Nicole is just the straight up nicest girl on the Ave in terms of her disposition. That's correct. City Paper has tons of info on the local nightlife. New issue comes out every Thursday. Mainly distributed around the S.Street and Center City areas but have also found most music stores have it all around the city and S.Jersey.

Not only is it cheaper but if you knew how many of these girls also worked for agencies. So you can give them 50 or 250. Hmmmm! I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself. So let’s start at the beginning. I got to the Avenue around 6:30pm. I thought this would be a good time for a new guy, to check-out the area. I started my hunt near the Dunkin Donuts, where I first spotted Christy. From a distance she looked good, but I wanted to see who else was out. On my second trip down the K, I picked-up a pot faced middle aged, rather unpleasing girl. She agreed on my offer really quick. I passed, told her maybe some other time. She just wasn’t my type. On my third trip I noticed Christy again, about a block farther down on the Ave. I pass her up again, I didn’t like the area she was in, there was a guy standing near by and she was pacing between him and the corner. On my next trip up the Ave I am starting to get a case of the nerves, I don’t like this driving back and forth, actions like that can get you noticed.
(I am going to take a break from my adventures, at this point. I’d like to make a few comments before I continue. On just about every trip up and down the avenue, I spotted girls who I knew were working, but they always seemed to be on the wrong side of the street. Then there were the girls I saw going up side streets, who seemed to disappear before I could get turned around. I even made a U turn on one occasion, something I almost never do. Near a park by a train stop, I got the attention of a pretty young thing, she would have been my first choice. She came up to the passenger side door and asked what I wanted to do. I told her to get in. She said no, ”There are too many cops out here”. Maybe she just didn’t want to date me. I don’t know what the case was. Then there were the Transit Police. I saw them oust a couple from the park. I guess, I was taken back by all the traffic and goings on under the EL. It’s a wild place, and it wasn’t even 8:00 on a Thursday night. What must it be like after dark, on a Saturday?)
Okay, back to the hunt. I decided to try Christy. She was still there. She was three or four blocks down from the Dunkin Donuts, still pacing, but the dude was gone. I pulled right up on the avenue and parked about five car lengths from the corner, behind a couple of parked cars and waited. She spotted me and walked down to the car. She gave me a nice smile and asked if she could get in. From there on we hit it off. I liked this girl. It wasn’t that she was drop died beautiful, because she wasn’t. But, she was clean, nicely dressed and had a pleasant personality with a face that was okay to look at.
I had a plan. This is important. I don’t want anybody to miss understand. I was not out to get laid or even get a BJ. I just wanted to get my feet wet. By now, we are heading down and around the corner, nobody is following and I am starting to feel pretty sure that she isn’t LE. I pulled over and started to set some rules. I told her I didn’t pay until we’re finish. She was okay with that. I asked how much did she get for a BJ. She said, “30.” I told her, “ I’ll give you 20 for ten pictures.” She agreed. (I only bring that last part up because it is a ploy that works well for me. After I see the body, and if I feel good about everything, I’ll offer an additional 20 for FS or a BJ. Do the math. I am telling her to slow down and put her pants on. She was in a panic and having a hard time getting into them. Just as she asked, “What are they doing now?” They pulled off. I looked at her sitting there, and in a cool flat voice I said, “Calm down, take a deep breath and relax for a minute, because that’s what I’m going to do.” We both busted out laughing. It was funny as shit. No kidding. That’s how I busted my K Ave cherry.
Even though I didn’t get down and dirty with Christy, I am going to go out on a limb and recommend her as a real pro. She really got into the picture taking. She posed and smiled, laughing and commenting that she was having fun. From the very beginning to the end she was cool. She said she is not out there often but works from her phone. She gave me her number. I asked if I could give it to some of my friends and she said that would be fine. She seemed more then happy that I’d be passing her number around. I thought it strange that she never asked what I’d be doing with her pictures. She did seem very interested in seeing them and asked me to bring them next time I came. As we drove to where she wanted to be drop off, she gave me pointers on picking girls up on the Ave. She was sincere in the way she schooled me. She really impressed me. I like this girl.

I'd say you both need to be careful - much more careful. LE will not get in the car, but they will ask you if you want to do something. The other scenario is no different really - she tells you to meet her down the street around the corner, and when you get there, they take you down there.

Usually my only opportunity to see whats going on on the Ave is late night on the weekends. I have noticed that since the weather warmed up that I've seen far fewer girls than when I still needed to use the heater in my car.

Yes. I am back. I was out of the country doing some freelance work in Mexico for an IT company. And let me tell you mongering in Mexico is a whole another world (that sorry for another day). Well I'm back for good and I been reading some post off and on. So here are my thoughts.
1) I love the new blood on this board. The fresh ideas. Brings me back to the good old days. To the new guys I salute you.
2) The K is still being overused to death but that's philly
3) No more whining and anger problems on this board. Which the old timers remember used to be a problem.
Now the good stuff. The WEST PHILLY MAP BETA 2 is coming on July 16th. No waits, no bull, no lie, and its real. Sorry it took so long but work is work and I have to make a paycheck.
Also, the West Philadelphia Monger survival guide will be up on July 25 written by another monger and myself. This will explain some areas in detail and some other things as well. I will have a portion of it up on Monday for viewing and suggestions.

There has been something bothering me about posting pictures. Until now I had not posted pictures of local talent on any local site. I belonged to a MSN group visited by mostly out or towners from a state far, far away in another galaxy, and it was very unlikely that they'd ever meet up with the girls in my pictures.
Things are different now. If you read my original post on Christy, you know she never asked me what I'd be doing with the pictures. I never told her either. Should I have? After all, I paid for them and that makes them my property, to do what I want with, right? No?
You and I know that I am not going to make a dime from posting they're pictures on the net. With all the porn on the net, nobodies going to pay me for some pictures of regular home town girls, right? But if I tell a girl that I will be posting her flicks on the internet, they'll be thanking I am going to be raking in the dollars and therefore they should be asking to more in payment.
I usually just tell them I make no money off of the pictures (that's the truth). I also tell them that I will be sharing the pictures with a couple of friends who do the same thing (just for fun) in their home town and we try to out do each other to see who can get the best pictures. (Which isn't entirely true since the pictures can be seen by others all over the world.)
My question to you is: has the average working girl figured out what her clients do with the pictures they take? Is that why Christy didn't question me about what I'd be doing with the pictures?

I have to say I have looked at the picture and can't tell anything. A dark spot in a picture is exactly that. I used to be a photographer and have done web design work. Dark spots appear on pictures, your picking up a woman on the avenue she is not gonna be perfect but who is we all put on our pants one leg at a time. He gave a favorable report why give the guy a hard time for it.
Hey Cookyjar..it is perfectly legal to take someones pic and show it too others. When someone allows you to take their pic they give you the copyright to it. Also there is nothing even wrong with just randomly taking someones picture walking down the street. But what could get you in trouble is making slanderous or false statements about the person in the pic.
Ex: Your in Center City on a nice spring day and you take a bunch of pics around the Art Museum of pretty girls doing their thing (walking, eating lunch, etc). Then you post these pics and just say what they were. Nothing wrong or illegal about it. But if you take those same pics and put captions under them or false accusations or slanderous remarks about any of the people and they find them, then you could have an issue. Or if you try catching shots that could be considered taht of violating thier personal rights. (upskirt, etc.)
Now on nudity. Again if someone knowingly allows you to take a pic of them nude then the above still holds true. (as long as they are of age) Now you want to start profiting off of adult material then that becomes a complete different issue. Do a google search on: The Federal Adult Disclosure and Labeling Law which is: 18 U.S.C. 2257. And then do research on both state and Federal Obscenity laws.
But to be brief, if they let you take their pic, post it. You're doing nothing wrong. Just use your own judgement of what to post and what not to post. I also have taken pics over the years on the ave, but am always selective of what I put out here.
