Just as we were leaving the table, my buddy is returning from his dances. He tells me "Don't take too long. ", as he's walking by me. Wasn't sure what that was about, but I'd find out later. So, I went back and did 5 songs with Danielle. She's always gave great lappers. She's been out at Big Foot, off and on, for several years. So, I've had a number of dances with her in the last few years. Only once have I had the chance to get dances with her in the better lap dance booths, though. That was last year. It is going to cost you a fortune to get out of these clubs.Well if that's the case I can't say I'm surprised. How the mighty have fallen. In the 90's when I first went there, I couldn't believe it. I was like a kid in a candy store- hot women everywhere. Many were like beauty pageant types- thin, petite, no fat, very fit and attractive young twenty somethings. The cover charge was minimal, the lap dances were great contact in the VIP room, you could grab anything that wasn't covered and the dances weren't expensive, and the dancers didn't hassle you for dances. It was the best club I've ever been too. Then, after a few years went by, they got greedy and decided to raise the dance prices significantly and many guys like me stopped coming from the Chicago area, the hot dancers quit, and they never recovered. They never understood that it's Rockford and not Vegas. There's no way they can charge high prices like that around here and stay in business. Locals and regulars like me just can't afford it or are unwilling to pay an arm and a leg for it. The appeal was always it was worth the long drive to have a good time because you got your moneys worth. The place used to be packed on the weekends- two levels, several stages, a real nice club not a dump, in a safe part of town.

They never took our advice and now it looks like they are gone. That's too bad. At one time they were the model of how a strip club should be run.

The last time I was in town and had such an opportunity was about five years ago, and I noticed via Google search that the city is down to just two operating clubs! (I had last sampled The Body Shop on my prior visit; I didn't yet check out the so-called Lingerie Shows (such as Chantilly Lace), but will perhaps read through more of the Rockford forums before planning such a visit.).

Anyway, Bigfoot was on my way home last night (Fri, 6/3) and I popped in around 8:00 pm. The parking lot was moderately full and the bouncer at the door was collecting $5 for cover. I then purchase a Diet Coke for $4 and gave the bartender a $1 tip. As I was getting a feel for the lay of the land, Aubrey, a young white dancer in her early twenties approached me. She said it was her second week at the club and in the industry for that matter. I asked her how the VIP dances worked: at that day and hour they were $20/ song. I went for a single VIP dance, which was pretty good given how new she was. Dances at that time of the day take place in a third bar / stage area in the far back (NW corner) of the building.

However, my tastes do run toward the chocolate spectrum (side note: if you're into that, take the time to visit Arnie's Idle Hour in Harvey, IL (147th and Wood): see the south suburban reports for more detail). I saw a most beautiful AA dancer across the room, whom I later learned went by "Tev". She stands about 5'6" or so, very well endowed, gorgeous dark complexion. Not one to waste time, I approached her and asked if she was free. We hit it off: she's a great conversationalist and very intelligent; she also has mad skillz with respect to dancing ability! We did two VIP dances, then sat at the bar and talked about life for a bit, then indulged in another two VIP dances before I headed home. Tev's been at Bigfoot for about a month now. Boys, she is a gem: treat her right! I plan on returning in the near future.

Total cost break down for the night: $5/ cover + $10 for two drinks (including tip) + $100 for five VIP dances total = $115 for the night. I meant to tip Tev and somehow it slipped my mind, because when I got home I found that cash in my pocket. I'll just have to have a follow-up visit sooner than later!

You know there's something wrong when a few of the guys were giving us ominous looks instead of watching the dancers. Our instincts told us they were looking for trouble. We finished our beers and got the hell out of there. We just wanted to see some t&a not get in a knifefight. We hit State Street instead and had a good time. I'm not sure what the usual crowd was at that place. Maybe we just went on the wrong night.

There I remember lap dances in the VIP section were $20 but they danced for you for 3 songs. You could get away with some mild groping as well. Then again that was a few years ago too.

I lost my strip club 'cherry' at a place that used to be called Heartbreaker's (still open, I think called The Candy Factory now) down at the intersection of 251 and 30. They had things set up a lot different: you paid a single fee to get in the door ($5, which they'd usually wave if it was before 9) and enjoyed the show free of bar tenders asking you to buy something. Back then, they had a mix of talent, some of it extremely hot (there was one twenty-something dancer who called herself Haley I'd have considered surrendering a nut to bed) and some of it was not. They also had to different options for private dances too: topless for 20, or full-nude for 35. My first visit there, they still had 'massage tables' in small rooms where you could get a fifteen minute 'massage' for around $$. Being a newbie, I didn't quite pick up on what the 'massage' meant, and before I could get back down there again after finding out, they'd gotten rid of them. Those nude dances could get quite wild, I can tell you: depending on the dancer, you could get FIV, DFK, nipple play, pretty much anything short of actually getting your equipment out and getting it serviced. Stage dances were topless, occasionally (especially late at night after the dancers had had a few drinks) they'd 'accidentally' get naked on stage. Pretty good action, all in all. So going from that to the 'bikini bar' environment of Rockford was a serious let-down for me, and getting hassled to drink did not help them win me over as a customer. I guess it comes down to what you expect.

$20 is the general going rate for Rockford. BF has tried different prices structures over the past year or so but seems to have settled back at $20. Of the three clubs (well formerly three) that is the club where I go the least. I just have never been able to get into that place. Don't like the stage set-up or the seating and it is just too damn DARK! Turn up the lights a little (but I digress). SSS closing is a shame. Even if you didn't like the place. Less choices for the consumer is NEVER a good thing. There were what 8-10 clubs in this town at one point? Sure, some of them were just barely functioning as clubs, but still they had dancers and now there are 2 clubs left. They just did everything they could to screw it up. They bumped the prices way too fast (going from $10 to $20 is DOUBLING the cost to customers. No club anywhere seemed to get that concept). Then shortly after the price increases, the economy tanked. They compounded the problem by refusing to back off those prices even when it was obvious there was resistance by the public. They never ran specials (like 2 for $30 or something during the week or 3 for $50). I was told that they were afraid dancers would leave to Wisconsin if they reduced the prices on the dances and also they thought if people couldn't afford $20 dances well that was fine, they didn't want people who couldn't afford the dances in the clubs anyway. And that is fine to have that attitude I suppose, if you have enough customers willing to pay the prices. But they didn't.

SSS was still functional till about 3-4 years ago (that's when some of those dancers pictured below left). There were a couple other dancers (not pictured) who had good followings, they left around the same time and SSS just never recovered. Anyway, SSS (or TT or BF either) have not been able to hire the same quality dancer in recent years and even if the lap dances were still good quality; if there are only 1 or 2 dancers to choose from. It doesn't really matter. There were other things that hurt along the way. Yes, there were people that came out from Chicago and then some of them would go out for other entertainment options when the clubs closed; but those options don't exist anymore. Then there has been the endless construction on I-90, (that finally ended), but I'm sure a lot of guys found other options versus driving out to Rockford. I guess my disappointment came from starting some place else. I lost my strip club 'cherry' at a place that used to be called Heartbreaker's (still open, I think called The Candy Factory now) down at the intersection of 251 and 30. They had things set up a lot different: you paid a single fee to get in the door ($5, which they'd usually wave if it was before 9) and enjoyed the show free of bar tenders asking you to buy something. Back then, they had a mix of talent, some of it extremely hot (there was one twenty-something dancer who called herself Haley I'd have considered surrendering a nut to bed) and some of it was not. They also had to different options for private dances too: topless for 20, or full-nude for 35. My first visit there, they still had 'massage tables' in small rooms where you could get a fifteen minute 'massage' for around $$. Being a newbie, I didn't quite pick up on what the 'massage' meant, and before I could get back down there again after finding out, they'd gotten rid of them. Those nude dances could get quite wild, I can tell you: depending on the dancer, you could get FIV, DFK, nipple play, pretty much anything short of actually getting your equipment out and getting it serviced. Stage dances were topless, occasionally (especially late at night after the dancers had had a few drinks) they'd 'accidentally' get naked on stage. Pretty good action, all in all. So going from that to the 'bikini bar' environment of Rockford was a serious let-down for me, and getting hassled to drink did not help them win me over as a customer. I guess it comes down to what you expect.Yeah my first club was Heavenly Bodies, but back then the dances were air dances which sucked. It was / is a bikini club. Nowadays they have full contact lap dances and the gals go topless so it has improved a lot since I first starting going in the early 90's. My first nude club was a place called Clowns in Lake Delavan Wisconsin I think. It's long gone. It was a small place The gals would do a revue type show, shedding more layers each song until they were nude on their last song. They would go around the room and give these 10-15 second lap dances for a dollar tip to all of the customers which were awesome but too damn short. You could get pictures taken with them too on a polaroid for like 10 bucks haha! How times have changed. They didn't have VIP room full song type lap dances though. So when I found out about State Street in like 1996 or 97 I was like damn. Even though the gals were in bikinis- it was worth it to get a full contact lap dance for a full length song. Can't remember if they were $5 or $10 a song. I used to go on Fridays a lot because all of the gals had to work then. So the selection was pretty good. They had three stages going strong. I am glad someone else remembers SSS the way that I remember it being. Yes, guys would just sit down in the VIP Room and wait for dancers to come in (I think every dancer would check after getting off the main stage on the 1st floor). I think the move to no smoking hurt; now every other dancer needs to take a smoke break after getting off stage. Anyway, dances were at one point $5 and then they went to $10 (which wasn't too bad because I think most customers realized $5 was a relative steal). And the dancers and dances were great. The whole bikini thing was not an issue (and frankly, bikini is being overly descriptive), they are in very skimpy thongs and tops.

The thing was, a dancer who hustled, even at $5 a song could make money. No one bought just one dance at $5. So if you could get 8 dances in an hour plus a tip there was $50 and with stage work, $75 hour was possible (and I have been told by a reliable source was easily obtainable). Even today, years later, $75/ hour (CASH) is good money. And that was not just weekends; they were busy on a Tuesday or a Wednesday. But say that 8 dances is overly optimistic; say they could do 5 in a hour. So $25, plus only a $5 tip. They would still be at $30/ hour not counting their stage work and if the club is busy I'm sure they could average $10/ hour more during their time on stage. That still is $40/ hour (conservatively) at $5 a song. I don't mean this to sound condescending, but what job can these ladies go to and make $200 a shift in cash? The thing was at those prices, a guy with $50 in his pocket could stop in and have a good time. And at least part of that money goes to the club. A guy who stops in twice a week and spends $50 each time is still blowing $5000/ year in your club. If he isn't worried he's going to get talked into to dropping $200 (which is easy to do) if he stops in some night when he has nothing to do; maybe he becomes the guy who stops in for a beer on his way home when he has $10 in his pocket. Again, I am not suggesting $5 dances is the way to go (that would never work, I'm sure there would have been mutiny). But I am suggesting there may have been other options they never tried where people would have still made money. Like 2 for $25 dances on Tuesday or a VIP Club or cheaper dances on the floor and a Champagne Room. ANYTHING, other than just letting it fade away.

I read on another site's reviews that many of the dancers there who screwed the owner or manager caught something. I have no idea if this is true- but going bareback is risky regardless with: 1. Stage show features dancers that get topless, but that's better than the 'bikini bar' bs of Rockford clubs. At one time, they had some decent, even hot, women working there. Unfortunately, my most recent visit (back in January) , they seemed to have nothing dancing but fuglies I'd have paid to keep their clothing on. Drug charges aren't new to this place, they've been raided before. I don't know if the charges are true, or if the local LEO's are just trying to get rid of a club local officials don't want (they run under a 'grandfathered' permit, and local government has tried to close them in the past), but they're probably open if you want to give them a checking out. BTW, your best chance of finding any decent-looking women is the weekend.

In response to an earlier post, both the main bouncer & manager are on a major power trip. Many customers have been drove away, others live with it as other options near Rockford are so bad. This club is decent now, but will go downhill fast. Trust me!! Most of the better\popular dancers are 30+ and money is starting to slow down to.

The only night I know for sure, that she'll be there, is on Saturday nights. She told me that she works other nights, as well, but I've never managed to catch her in there on any other night. Tiger Tail is at Rock bottom as far as anyone with any standards or experience in this industry would attest too. They have lost too many good staff & dancers in the past couple of years. He has his own set of rules & jumps on the girls right in front of the customers for breaking them -- nevermind it was how the club operated for years before he arrived. I have been working in Rockford off and on for the last nine months. Tonight was my third visit to Bigfoot.

The first visit was very disappointing. There was only one girl there that was not bovinesque. She was from Miami and seemed to know the score. I asked about extras in the club, she said that was a no go. I asked her about take out. At first she said no, then she said yes but that we would have to be very careful because she had a boyfriend.

The second time was pretty much the same line up, the Miami girl was there but there was a new one. Young, nice body. I tipped her when she was on stage and chatted for a minute. She came to see me after her set. After we talked for a bit she asked what I was interested in. I told her not anything that we could do here. She looked at me for a few seconds and said How about a 'handy'.

We went back to the VIP room and she managed to pull it off.

Tonight I went back. I would honestly have to say the selection was better. There were a couple of girls there that were OK and one that was quite pretty. I tipped her, $2, one for each side. After here set she came down to my table and sat down. She is from Cuba and speaks no English. LOL Once she figured out that I do not speak Spanish, she left.

She kept trying to get me to do more songs. It was really annoying how aggressive she was, trying to push for more dances. She was even trying to get me to go to the ATM, "if I needed more money". Not happening! When I finally get her to understand that I was done in the lap dance room, she tries to tell me that we did 9 dances. No, we didn't. I keep track, because I don't go these places to empty out my wallet. She insisted we did 9, but I paid her 8 (I didn't want to, but I didn't want her going to bouncer with this B. S.). Luckily, she took the payment for 8 dances. I immediately left. I was pissed. I've never had a dancer pull that B. S. On me, before. When I was getting my dances with shot girl, my buddy was getting dances with Jane. Apparently, Jane pulled the same B. S. Scam on him. She got him for over $300! That's sad! I used to really like Jane. I've had many dances with her in the past, and never had her try to lie about the dance count. I'm done with that place for a awhile.

1) Blu Astor (Diamond Jim's / Isabella Queen). Open again, business seems normal. They spent some time rehabbing the bar, and there are new amenities and the lace has been cleaned up quite a bit. New bar, new DJ booth (moved back in the corner, not between the 2 stages anymore), new equipment, new owners, and I have been told the other half of the building looks pretty good too. Not all of the dance crew is back yet, the waitresses and bartenderettes are friendly and attentive for the most part. The facility does not require you to wear a mask, they may ask to take your temp with a sensor pointed at your forehead. $10 cover charge. Liquor and beer is reasonably priced, especially compared to other clubs of this type. There is a range of girls present that I saw over the weekend, thin to heavy, short to tall, and the best part of all. No bitching. Sure, that'll change as time goes on. But for now, they are happy to be there. This is easier to get to via I-90 than I realized, exit at Shopiere and you are less than 10 minutes from there. A couple county roads (speed limits 40-45) and little traffic.

2) Vegas in Darien. Open with $4 or $6 cover charge when I was there though the girls were terribly distracted by the TVs and the bartenderettes were distracted by their phones. The bouncer staff were great, no problems at all.

3) Show Palace. Never been there before, it was bigger and busier than I thought it would be. $10 cover, lots of dancers on the weekend and everyone seemed happy to be out of the house and back to drinking in a bar setting.

Until Tiger Tail and Bigfoot open, they are decent choices. Just a bit of a drive from Rockford.

They had a $5. 00 cover charge. You needed a mask to get in, but didn't have to wear it inside. They had about 7 or 8 ladies on their schedule. I left after I had one beer. Tiger Tail has most of the usual ones back, it will get busier if Wisconsin shuts down again and mandates masks.

Bigfoot masks mostly at the video games, Tiger Tail asks nicely for you to wear one inside (though doesn't force you to). Employees at both places are masked, thems the rules.

I went out last Friday, started at old wagon wheel beloit plenty of attention dancers weren't wearing masks but was informed will have to starting this at midnight but we left after a few drinks.

We then went to Bigfoot crowded nobody but a few wearing masks and very few girls one drink and hit the road.

I've been down to the St Louis area clubs (all on the Illinois) about 10 times in the last 3 years. They have about a dozen clubs from dives to very upscale. Extras are even available in some clubs.

Now all but 2 clubs are suspending operations until they can stay open past 11 pm. The St Louis area clubs stayed open til 4 am and sometimes 5 am. These clubs are very relianiant on the late night money.

It always seemed to me that later at night the boys with no brains would come in and throw money around.

I think the 2 remaining Rockford clubs are in big trouble.

Visited both recently. Blue Astor had absolutely no privacy in the lap dance room so I wasn't getting anything back there. I'm not sure about the VIP rooms but I hate paying that much just to get a BJ. Unless you can get extras, I don't see the point of going LOL. Tiger Lounge was similar. Small shared lap dance room. They didn't even have dividers. I'm not even sure if they had a VIP room. Overall very disappointing I don't even know why I try my luck at strip clubs anymore.

Had good times at Tiger Tail in the past. It's much easier to get to (off the interstate) than the other clubs in Rockford (now there's only 1 other club, Big Foot).

The club had been sliding for a few years since a 2016 peak (I don't go back that far), 2013 seemed good, 2014 not so much, improving 2015, peaking 2016 and declining 2017 to 2019. Even in 2019 it was still decent enough.

There is no more day shift at all. The club opens at 8 and don't expect dancers until 9 or 10. Weekday nights will be slow with few dancers. Weekends will have more dancers but there are other problems noted in next paragraph.

There seems to be a dancer cult to over count the number of dances. The management & bouncers seem hell bent to constantly check the dance room & are stepping in to disallow some pretty basic lap dance activity. The bonehead DJ is still there & is significantly cutting the length of songs short. Both dancers I took back tried to charge for 3 songs when we only did 2. I also observed the post negotiation of other customers with dancers being overcharged for dances.

Please avoid this club at all costs (its not at all like it use to be) I don't want to see these thugs get away with this crap.

Life has brought me back into the Rockford far east side. Have made a few visits to Tiger Tail over the last month or so. Both on week nights & weekend nights.

My observation is that there are lots of dancers & few customers. Weekends now seem to be 20+ & some week days have still had around 15. There is usually 10 or less customers during the week. Weekends busier, but not too busy, but with lots of non-spenders.

Seems to be a good time to explore possible take out options, or at least get some deals on dances.

The lineup is ok. Some younger newer girls that are cute enough & also some veteran dancers. It's not up to how it was 5-10 years ago, but better than it has been in at least a couple years. There are even a couple of sister acts.

Tom & Ray are still running things, but it seems for now they are mostly staying out of the way. Club does not open til 8 pm & half the dancers won't arrive til 9 pm.

Tiger Tail is about the safest strip club (bikini bar) you can find anywhere in the World. The Club is located in the immediate area of several hotels & restaurants. You can see the club out the window from several hotels.

The new Rockford (temporary) casino is also about 2 blocks away.

The talent is pretty decent now. The club management does leave a lot to be desired now. A quick note of importance. This is one of the few clubs out there that does not take a cut of the dancers lap dance money, so you should try to negotiate some deals.

Rockford is not immune. Unfortunately the ones I saw at Bigfoot were not gorgeous but some were decent. Tiger tail did not have any. They use to have two Mexican girls but I have not seen them recently. Real sweet girls, Kimmy and Princess.

My plans of OTC with a couple strippers I know fell through, so I went into Blu Astor recently. Prices are high here. Guess they don't realize the Rockford to Beloit corridor is relatively low income. Lap dances are $30 a song and a 15 minute VIP is $150, no discount for longer time.

Found at least one potential standout, so decided to do some lap dances which I usually don't do much of anymore. Why spend a lot of money ITC when you have OTC options.

During the dance when I tried to initiate some legit grinding they dancer commented I should tip for that. That's how these dancers think now. Worse yet, I only got 2 of the 3 songs I paid for, so basically ended up paying $45 a song for a "non-contact" dance.

Needless to say I'm really disappointed with myself today.

Bigfoot Lounge was sold to a new owner, it passed approval by the City Council back on 2-20-2024. The city required a laundry list of physical updates on the exterior of the building and the surrounding land, as well as metal detectors, etc etc etc.

I don't know when the new ownership officially takes over.

Pretty much every one since has sucked big time. But I did go to school with a lot of the ladies that worked there, and had an apartment upstairs above the club. Un fair advantage I guess. I never walk into a situation of any kind unless I have the advantage somehow. Now I'm just old and seldom have the advantage, but I still indulge.

The good thing I can say is there is still a decent amount of talent at both clubs. There aren't really waves of new girls coming in. Its mostly the same girls as 3 years ago with some dancers being around over 10 years.

There's a number of Cuban or Colombian girls at Bigfoot (which will have a new name) who speak no English.

Dances at Bigfoot are now $30 & club is now using an auto-computer DJ which means shortened songs.

Tiger is still $20 + 1-time $10 cover. The current bouncers are really strict.

Improvements continue in the VIP area, and work is ongoing on the main floor. Many, many upgrades have happened in the last 6 months. Including an almost 100% turnover in the old Staff (Bar / Waitress, Security). If you haven't been here in a while, it is worth it to stop in and see the physical changes and a lot of new entertainers. Some of the Cuban Entertainers remain, yet their audience is becoming "more selective" as they tend to avoid non-Spanish Speaking Clientele.

Tiger Tail remains the same as you remember it, but still worth it to stop in and see their (about half) new crop of Entertainers. Shot Girls continue to mingle around, Jello Shots are served occasionally.
