Taz and HiHop are right on the mark about Sweetpea and I have known her for a long time. As far as where she lives, I have never felt any concern with her neighborhood. It is not a Homewood or 280 address but we can not all live in those areas. She is no drama and low profile, mostly under the radar. Don't think you will ever see her on BP. Living here for most of my 40 years, over time you know where to go and where not to. And what I mean by that is there are places you just don't want to be. Speaking as a white man, I 've done my fair share of trolling in all the areas that you can think of in and around Bham that SW will be. As I did that I was in the safety of my own vehicle. But other than having to be an area like that to buy a part, or whatever, you're not going to catch me there. These areas are not the place to go on a first date. As a white man, I'm not taking a regular girl to the Bessemer Super Highway or Woodlawn for dinner. But I saw something last evening that was very interesting. Going home I cut through Avondale. Now I have heard peopel talk about that area and the "cool" businesses and shops that are there. And when I would here that, I was like "well, you want catch me there." I never got the full jist of what was going on there until last night. The areas from the old Mazer to the Star motel was hopping with all these white people. 2-3 blocks away from the Star, there were girls walking down the street in cocktail dresses. Some in a group, some solo. But people were just walking to and fro like they were in Beverly Hills. And my first thoughts were, just 2-3 years ago this was a hotbed of illicit activity. And it might still be. But if anyone has spent any amount of time in that area over the years, you could stand at the Avondale Brewery and throw and rock in any direction and where it landed, there might have been a shotting, stabbing, drug deal, and sure as hell a SW. When white folks go into an area and try to revitalize it, it just makes me shake my head. Either they just don't know, or they're too ignorant to listen. If all those cute over the mountain girls in their $200 dollar dresses and high heels knew that at one time walking down those side streets would have gotten you dragged in some vacant house and raped, I doubt they would be there. That's just my opinion. I'd like to know what you all think.

Couple of white guys running the place said they had been open a few months, place was almost full of white folks. I left, ate my sandwich when I got home, it really was not as good as I hoped.

I am very surprised at these crowds gathering in such dangerous spots. I keep a CCW with me, and I still didn't like it. Sad to say, but we will be hearing some bad tragic news from that area. Somebody thinks it's safe, but it is not. I always keep watch for some thug or crazy SW to try to get the jump on me, but I will do my best to not let this happen.

Those people are dropping their guard.

It's full of tourists, high-dollar condos and offices, boat cruises, fancy restaurants, etc, etc. A completely different world than it used to be.

I'm not saying Avondale is there, or will ever get to that level. But I do think it's possible to turn areas around. Let's face it. If Over the Mountain people start getting mugged and raped outside Avondale Brewery or Saw's BBQ on a regular basis, that will make the news. Once you have viable businesses in an area like Avondale, contributing tax funds to the city, it's in the city's financial interest to keep those streets safe. I'm sure there's a much higher BPD presence on 41st street now than there was 3 years ago (and in fact, I've seen cops eating in Saw's).

Don't know if the Avondale "experiment" will succeed or not. I'm sure as hell not going to buy a house there. But I've taken my wife and kids to both Avondale and Saw's, during the daytime and early evening, and wouldn't have a problem doing so again. I am a person who's highly aware of my surroundings, and I've never seen any hint of trouble in that area since the brewery moved in.

Also, the beer is awesome. So from purely selfish standpoint, I hope they continue to thrive.

I don't want to go all Paula Deen on you, but if you get rid of the BAD black element, then yes you will change things. I think its good for people to open business to try to shed something positive in the areas that normally doesn't receive positive news or feedback. I would love to see Avondale and Birmingham shine in a positive light instead of a negative one, but I guess as long as we keep these people in this community away from Hoover, Inverness, Chelsea, Alabaster / Pelham then everything is ok? Areas go from good, high income areas, to bad low income, crime ridden ones. And in some instances, the low land prices, ect lead to a revitalization of these same areas by businesses to become the places that young, trendy business minded singles and such begin to frequent. This has happened time and again in different urban areas of this nation, it is just what happens. And to me it is all to the good, let the money come back into those area, even if as was said that means our exploits need to move elsewhere. I am all for seeing this city get better economically speaking.

I've decided to hang up the devious ways. All of what I do nowadays is hit a MP here and there with the hopes that one of these "proper" establishments will turn the other cheek just one time. "Oh, there's a new girl working at (fill in the blank). Maybe she will be the one who you can talk into getting low down." A hard on as we age, from my perspective is psychological and how you take care of yourself. I can remember being 18, and back then I would've fucked a hole in a dirty diaper. Even when I first starting mongering, I just didn't think that hard about what I was doing. The little head was thinking as the saying goes. Nowadays it stands at attention just fine, given most circumstances. And those circumstances deal mainly with psychological like everyone. Back a few months ago I took a little weekend trip to get away from a bunch of personal shit and one night had about 10 too many Budweisers and began talking to a young lady when I was about 3-4 deep. I had a pretty good buzz. No where near drunk. So we flirted and we both continued to drink and eventually left. Well, on the way back to my motel we came across an accident with all the blue and red lights in the world. Now anyone who's anyone who's been out drinking knows you sober up real quick when something like that happens. So at that point I began to sorta look at this girl more closely than Mr. Bud was doing before. Given the darkness it was hard to tell. So, once we entered the motel and I could see what I was dealing with, two hours earlier I would've told you I was with Christy Brinkley. Now after sobering up somewhat, it might as well been David Brinkley. I mean this girl was a fucking mess and I'm thinking, "there's no way this shit here is going to happen." Maybe in a cave but not here. I then began to try and think of a way get her the hell back. Once she got into the room she went directly to the bathroom to piss. I'm trying to come up with something and she's in there pissing like a lumberjack. Never heard such a racket from a girl. From the acoustics in a Hampton Inn, you could record a fucking album. Anyway I ease over to the door for a better listen and as her piss trails off she lets out a grown man sized fart, and then a grunt and strain followed. And at that point, it was like I was in an episode of Fear Factor. I began to gag and eventually had to go over to the kithenette sink and hurl up $50 worth of beer. At that point I didn't know she was even still there. In between hurls I hear the toilet flush and she comes out as I'm face down in the sink. To her credit she was very concerned. I just told her obviously I don't feel well and needed to take her back to whereever. I asked for her number and told her I would call her and the next night we would do something(not hardly). And she kept on asking me "are you sure you're going to call me?" "Oh yeah" I said. Not so much. As for other girls for me to get a rager nowadays with some SW or working girl... They don't make a blue pill big enough. The things that can run through your head will ruin your other head. I've said it before on here. I don't ever use my primary phone to call or text. I typically have a cheap phone on a No contract type. Monthly plan. If I'm not playing, I don't renew for the month. I really dislike keeping up with two phones / chargers, and am always looking for something more cost effective and more consistent. Has anyone just used their primary phone and get a Skype phone number? Or utilize an old iphone with just Skype, but then you're still dealing with a monthly fee and more expensive phone if it gets swiped or needs to be ditched? Any downside to using a Skype phone number versus a cell carrier? Just curious what you guys find most convenient. Gracias in advance for the feedback. Until then, I'll keep my crappy cell phone that takes horrible photos.

Get an email account through gmail, and download their voice application. Then you can use the phone thru their email site for free and it pops up with some number from California. Yes, and then you have to wade through all the fake replies you'll get as well. In the past you could tell by the email address that is was sent from that it was fake, but about a year ago they made email addresses private where it sends a link to a reply code instead. Usually now, the fake replies send a complete copy of the ad you place, or they send a picture supposedly of the girl replying, with an email address embedded in the pic. Most of the area around Woodlawn was nice and you can find many groups on Facebook where the older people reminisce about all the restaurants and places like Cascade Plunge and so forth that used to be in the area. Basically when integration happened, most all of the white families moved into the surrounding suburbs. An article on al.com around when the movie came out basically explained how it all happened, leading to where the area declined. The article is below. They're trying to clean the area up and bring businesses back, but as long as the same riff raff live in the area, and violent crimes continue to happen, it's going to be hard to make it much more than it is.

Also, when the coach was selling insurance at the end, it made it appear his office was directly across the street from the high school. I've been using the stuff from the gas stations for years. At first I used Stamina RX, I think it was called. Then about 5 years ago, the generic Viagra started showing up, and I got that for a while, until it disappeared. That worked best on me. Then when that was no longer available, I started experimenting with the other available pills, and found one called Happy Passengers, which came in a small square box and was a small yellow capsule and this smaller black circular pill. That worked for me for a while, but it's starting to not have the same effect as it did in the past. So I'm wanting to try to get some of the generic Viagra. I've been using the stuff from the gas stations for years. At first I used Stamina RX, I think it was called. Then about 5 years ago, the generic Viagra started showing up, and I got that for a while, until it disappeared. That worked best on me. Then when that was no longer available, I started experimenting with the other available pills, and found one called Happy Passengers, which came in a small square box and was a small yellow capsule and this smaller black circular pill. That worked for me for a while, but it's starting to not have the same effect as it did in the past. So I'm wanting to try to get some of the generic Viagra. I don't have the money to afford the prescription kind, nor do I feel comfortable going to a doctor and discussing it. Fifteen years ago, when I occasionally had those issues, I discussed with my doctor at the time about it. He swore I must be having 'homosexual activity', I kid you not, for me to be having those issues. Needless to say, I will not discuss that with a physician again. One thing I always try to stress is the purpose of the board, and the fact that what we discuss are things that certain people think is immoral, and in many places against the law. As stated, during the snow and ice, they were required to work 12 on, and 12 off. The 12 hours off, they could do as they please, but still had to work their shift. Some small businesses near them stayed open, and hospital employees along with patient families often walked to them to get certain things they needed. Even a small bar nearby stayed open, and some nurses frequented there. The whole situation presents an opportunity for those that choose to, to get a little wild, especially if things around the house have gotten a little boring. I was unaware of this kind of thing until I heard about it from the nurse I have known for some time. She had called me and told me of a "Code White Pending", along with the idea of hooking up, when it got a little closer I went to the destination, then sure enough it was upgraded to "Code White".

Just a little good time going on under the radar during the storm.

Oh, and the nurse is quite cute, IMHO.
