FWIW, I see the ones strung out on opiates mostly hanging out more near the fake "store" and "motel" 4 miles to the east of there, on Grand from the "pest control" corner on Market St to St Louis Ave, more so than towards the farther west part of MLK. What I generally see concentrated in the area around Hodiamont between MLK & Page are mostly crackheads. Whether that's true or not, of course being on crack instead just means they can tend to be the opposite kind of problem. Instead of nodding-off, they'll sometimes start bouncing & twitching & tweaking and flailing about like there's a fizzy soda bottle going off inside their noggin, or sometimes have an attention span that just can't focus on the job they need to do. But at least the crack tweakers aren't suddenly dropping dead left & right so much, like the fentanyl zombies do a lot. And hey, some of us actually kinda like that tight & hard anorexic little toothpick look some of the tweakers get. Or so I've heard, just sayin' for a friend.

Pardon me for saying what regulars with a lot of experience in that area already know very well, but for others, meaning any visitors or others reading this who are not familiar with these places like those blocks on and around Hodiamont, they are definitely only for those with a lot of serious industrial strength street smarts. Be honest with yourself, and if you're not quite totally sure about how to do your business & get by in places that have steel security bars on the windows of any building that's not been abandoned to squatters & where I know some moms who make their kids sleep in the bathtub trying to protect them from stray bullets, then this probably isn't exactly where you want to be looking for a good time with a fistfull of dollars. I have people I know there, and in general I'm okay dealing with places like that, but I think most people probably wouldn't be, and shouldn't. And everybody on the street will know it immediately. Within the last month I know of three murders on the street in that area near MLK & Hodiamont, and there are probably a bunch of others I don't happen to know anything about. Unless it is something especially photogenic like a car becoming a big fireball that's entertaining to look at, somebody getting killed on the street in that neighborhood usually gets no more than one or two short sentences in the media, ho-hum and today is Tuesday, with little or no follow-up about it after the dead guy or gal has been hauled away. And all the fentanyl junkies dropping dead usually don't even get their name mentioned.

Comparing the MLK & S Broadway strolls, which do you think has the most & the best selection of SWs?Hmmmm 🤔. The MLK Stroll is a predominantly black stroll with one or two white hookers sprinkled in. So if you like black hookers then this would be the stroll for you. The S Broadway Stroll is a predominantly white hooker stroll with a alot of black hookers in the mix also along the way. I happen to be familiar with both cities. And no, not very much the same at all. I'd say definitely NOT comparable. Unless you're unlucky enough that there's some other bigger reason they're camped out to sit on that particular spot at that time when you stumble into the middle of whatever. In the city limits of "The Lou" it is thinly policed compared to a lot of other places. I gather you haven't been in the City enough yet to observe the *ahem* extremely eccentric driving habits that are actually common, routinely doing amazing breathtaking stuff displaying a belief that many folks have long ago concluded they must be totally immune to laws not just of St Louis & Missouri, but also the laws of Isaac Newton. Stick around and you'll definitely see what I mean soon enough. I'm speaking just about things inside the formal City limits, which is really a pretty small part of the STL metro. The County is a very different matter.

But within the City, which is where the known semi-regular strolls kinda sorta exist, in my opinion in the 314 you're a lot more likely to get shot or stabbed and end up in a dumpster, than busted and towed and end up in jail like you might by cruising lotsa loops all night on 27th Ave (or east Van Buren in the old days) in the 602. But hey, if you know what you're doing it'll generally cost you only about half to a third as much on the way to risk the possibility of getting carjacked at gunpoint with a gal here in River City, as compared to what you'd have probably had to fork over to a working girl on 27th & Luke to get busted in west central PHX, so there's that to cheer about! Welcome to town.

Thanks in advance.You can make as many laps as you want. But there are a few small things to look out for. LE (FTP!) on the St Louis Misery Stroll will pull you over so just cruze the speed limit. Don't run any lights or make quick UTurns. When you see a possible potential hooker 👀 to pick up pull over, not on her, BUT a few lenghts ahead. Check your surroundings as you pull up to make sure LE (FTP!) is not anywhere around. If so they will definitely swoop on you especially if a hooker is walking up to your car. The St Louis Misery Stroll is not like the Phoenix stroll where it's warm year around. It's still kinda cold out and they are still wearing a bunch of clothes. The Phoenix Arizona stroll on YouTube shows a much better selection of hookers to choose from plus they dress the part. BUT not here on the STL Misery Stroll 😳. You will find that most of these hookers here are either toothless meth addicts or are old and geriatric ready for the hooker retirement center. LOL! Every now and then after you make 10 laps of the stroll you may find a good one. You just have to have patience. Also the best time for more hooker selections would be Memorial Day weekend. This is when the weather will be hot for the entire summer and you will see more hookers out through October 1st. After October 1st the selections drop 🙄. BUT your best bet to get a good looking girl for a good time would be to try Listcrawler. The STL selections there would be better looking but they over charge for the goods 🙄. Plus some of them used to be hookers on the stroll. Anyway just be careful and be aware of your surroundings. I hope you don't plan on staying here in St Louis Misery. This place is no good at all 👎. The new gentleman's question reminds me of a related query of my own: Has anyone ever seen or heard of local LE ever running a reverse sting, using policewoman decoys and suchlike to bust guys specifically & solely for this particular purpose, on the streets of St Louis? I haven't, but maybe I'm just not fully informed about that. Like that phony "store" that mostly is in the fentanyl business at the SE corner of North Grand & Montgomery, what with all the messy unsightly customers' bodies regularly turning up dead for at least the last seven or eight years along the wall right across the street from their door right next to the dope & gangsta "motel" that probably has never seen an actual suitcase in this century, and the ridiculous supposed gas & "convenience" store that's very openly involved in a crack slinging operation doing "rock" bidness right over the counter all night long on N. Union Blvd about a block north of MLK, well known to practically everyone with a glass pipe between Chicago & Memphis, and I could go on and on. But maybe I'm not getting the picture right, and I'm very sincerely open to learning more of the ground truth that I could be mistaken or just incompletely knowledgeable about, and I really would be into changing my mind with more information that I might not be aware of.

Besides the experience of having previously lived for over 20 years in the region he's coming from, part of our different point of view may come from me spending a lot more time in the north side areas of STL and only rarely cruising around Broadway in South City, and I think we might be able to agree there are some real differences in what is accepted as "normal" looking behavior in different neighborhoods. I'll try not to get too long winded and boring with detailed stuff that won't be relevant to people here, but in some other cities (Phoenix, Fig in LA, W Trop & Boulder in Las Vegas) there are official blocks of some streets that have been formally legally designated as special high vice corridors that call for special LE suppression by doing a lot of much more heavy handed stuff than what happens in STL about both motorists & pedestrians. Like prohibiting many very tame otherwise totally normal boring type turns, meticulously logging who goes by exactly how often and aggressively enforcing some very unusual ordinances specific to those blocks, which have been declared as giving them probable cause to do a full roadside rectal exam on much less grounds than elsewhere, and issuing exclusion orders totally banning individuals from even being in those designated areas at all as motorists or pedestrians, and paying lotsa bucks to do expensive elaborate operations around all that stuff. And maybe most importantly, providing lots of proudly announced official public political encouragement for doing it. You might feel that some things LE does here seem like what some of that sounds like to you, but having lived both here and where he's coming from, no, most definitely not, they are very different. Way different. You'd probably have to have seen it to get how different it is.

I'm pretty sure the very specific thing he was asking about was making some laps, by driving up the street and then after a decent interval of time that might be consistent with running a few little errands to here and there and to be driving back down the way he came, like going to a few places to visit some joint over here & there & back. I like jazz & blues & like checking out some scruffy local venues for it. And doing that in a normal looking sensible kind of way. In Phoenix or LA on a certain stretch of a particular formally designated street, that could very likely get you lotsa trouble in some designated places at the wrong times when they are doing 'special enforcement', without doing anything else at all, with nothing but pretty ordinary conservative totally normal boring type driving action, much more easily than here. Think about how it would be from your point of view if you lived there, were friends with the alderman, had the local police swing shift captain who is your favorite aunt's boyfriend on speed dial, and were looking at that from your own home porch. Even if everybody else is in a frenzy doing all kinds of weird and damn dangerous stuff behind the wheel, as they routinely do without fear of any consequences in parts of STL. And even if there's a much more conspicuous traffic jam from a crowd of people openly buying & selling crack right across the street from that working girl you'd like to scoop up. But I do know very well what a SW sting is and looks like, and how to avoid them, for about forty years now. I've seen plenty of them. In my opinion it really takes someone spectacularly clueless, childishly impulsive, very drunk, or just plain stupid to get themselves caught in one. Of course there is no shortage of people out there who are well qualified on those grounds, who somehow manage to have automobiles and enough scratch to be a danger to themselves and others. For myself when I'm out where the street wildlife roams, I'd say the first and easiest clue to me is that they are strangely stationary within the limited boundaries of where the sting operation has designated in advance for them to be, for keeping within the surveillance of their backups, rather than freely walking over & around the corner leaving their high visibility spot to come to the possible pick up.

But those operations are quite expensive, and they also are usually intentionally marketed through the local news media to the taxpaying public. And I've seen nothing specific discussed about any of that recently here at all, and while I sure could have missed it, out of my 17-18 years or so on this web forum I've had a particular interest in following the local StL SW scene for about the last 7 or 8 or those years. That really sucks!Yea that area has been very active over the last few months. Last Thursday when I was touring the stroll I noticed alot of action on the side street where The Stairwell To Hooker Heaven is. Which is located in front of The Broadway Bluff Apartments. There seems to be some lightweight dusty pimping going on from these apartments. I also noticed that when you stop to pick up a hooker off the side street by the apartments there is someone in a car keeping lookout for the ho's. Luckily I was looking in my rear view mirrors and instinctively put my car in drive and pulled off. This happened waaaay back in the day over near the old Wash Rack truck stop on the Illinois side. Yea that area has been very active over the last few months. Last Thursday when I was touring the stroll I noticed alot of action on the side street where The Stairwell To Hooker Heaven is. Which is located in front of The Broadway Bluff Apartments. There seems to be some lightweight dusty pimping going on from these apartments. I also noticed that when you stop to pick up a hooker off the side street by the apartments there is someone in a car keeping lookout for the ho's. This incident with Jessica happened on Dover which is the next street down off Broadway. So it's possible the guy had just picked Jessica up and was in the cut negotiating some action and then unfortunately got bum rushed. If so, man this is why I never pull over in the back alley cut. Especially in that area.When I first saw this in the news I thought this sounded like a set up and he accidentally shot her in the neck while shooting at the driver. After catching up on the posts, I realize that, most likely, I nearly suffered the same fate as dude that got jacked and shot in the arm. Last Thursday, I hit the stroll at about 11:30 pm. I saw two by the stairwell, and decided to round the block. I drive down the side street by the apartment, and a blonde walker in a metallic pink puffer coat comes up to my car. I forget her name. It might've been Jamie. She looked to be in her 20's-Early 30's. I'd been with her before, and she was annoying, but she took direction well enough and got the job done. This time was different. She gets in and immediately has an attitude. I ask for the cop check, and she plays dumb, asks me if I'm a cop, and then makes a big deal out of popping out a tit. I should've dropped her off then, but. Anyways, I make my first mistake when she says she needs to stay in the area, and my dumbass picks a spot that's nearby. I offer a Jackson and a Lincoln for a French lesson. She gets offended--I offer to drop her off, but she agrees, like she's doing me a favor. This is my second mistake. I get comfortable and handover the money. Then she starts complaining about having a newborn baby at home and that I can only take ten minutes, because her boyfriend will be coming, and he's driving a white car. Then she says if he pulls up, can she hop out and give him the money real quick. I tell her no, and she acts like this is a joke. Yes. I should've dipped, immediately. But I was being stupid, and we were already there. So she starts to get to work, and I want to bust and get out of there, so I tell her if she lets me push her head down, that'll get the job done. Just as she lays her head on my stomach and opens wide to let me ram the back of her throat, and I put one hand on her forehead and the other on the back of her neck (which, a girl who can DT is one thing, but giving an annoying woman the hiccups is a whole other pleasure), a white car pulls up smooth behind me. Not right behind me. The pull up about two car lengths away. I see this, and I'm like fuck it. I tell her to get out and she can keep the money. She hesitates for a minute, and I tell her to just go. I get out of there, and as I'm going, I look in my rearview, and see her saying something to whoever in the white car as she's walking by. Later that night, I passed the area again, and I saw her talking to someone in a parked grey car.

Shit's felt off in that area for a while, but I'd bet that somebody is ruling these women with an iron fist, and has graduated them to setting up mongers. Hell, a few months ago, I saw Val under the bridge at about the same time (and I like Val, because she routinely lets me ram her throat), and when I went to pick her up, she hesitated. Like put one foot off the curb, and just stood there. She's usually happy to see me, so I got a weird vibe and left.
