You're right, though, AJ. We're all Seniors here and can at least agree to disagree. After all, we visit this forum for reasons other than to discuss gas prices (...although competition for a limited resource, whether that be ooil or SWs, will always cause prices to go up, not down). You did nothing wrong in posting what otherwise is a funny sign that has a graphic we can all identify with. I'd have just replaced the oil company logos with faces of politicos who are largely responsible for this mess. It would still be somewhat in line with this forum. After all, don't a lot of the folks on Capitol Hill f*#k us daily? ;)
At any rate, to make this brief: Don't feel regret over posting the New International Symbol for Gas. I know you intended it in the spirit of humor. We all reacted to it because we're all frustrated (...by the gas prices, that is, but hopefully not as a result of this forum's focus). I am trying to sell a bed frame I recently purchased. I ordered it over the Internet. It was a bit of an impulse buy. Now that it's arrived, I realize that it doesn't go with any of my other oak furniture. I can't send it back. The bed frame is 100% hand carved and imported from Japan. The mattress is orthopedic, brand new, and hasn't been slept on.

If you look closely you can see the cable from the fiber optic ortho camera. just like they use when they do a colonoscopy. You are just facing the other way so never really get to see them using it.

Nunez's van broke down last fall. Now, her 19-year-old daughter has no reliable transportation out of their subsidized housing complex in Fostoria, 40 miles south of Toledo, to look for a job.
Nunez and most of her siblings and their spouses are unemployed and rely on government assistance and food stamps. Some have part-time jobs, but working is made more difficult with no car or public transportation.
'I Just Can't Get A Job'
Nunez, 40, has never worked and has no high school degree. She says a car accident 17 years ago left her depressed and disabled, incapable of getting a job. Instead, she and her daughter, Angelica Hernandez, survive on a $637 Social Security check and $102 in food stamps.
Hernandez received her high school diploma and has had several jobs in recent years. But now, because fewer restaurants and stores are hiring, she says she finds it hard to find a job. Even if she could, she says it's particularly hard to imagine how she'll keep it. She says she needs someone to give her a lift just to get to an interview. And with gas prices so high, she's not sure she could afford to pay someone to drive her to work every day. Front end loaders are not the most fuel efficent vehicles.
People tell Nunez her daughter could get more money in public assistance if she had a child. "A lot of people have told me, 'Why don't your daughter have a kid?'" They both reject that as a plan. Besides most guys do not really consider her all that attractive.
"I'm trying to get a job," Hernandez says. "I just can't get a job."
Hernandez says she's trying to get training to be a nurse's assistant, but without her own set of wheels or enough money to pay others for gas, it hasn't been easy.
'What's Going To Happen To Us?'
Most of their extended family lives in the same townhouse complex. The only employer within walking distance is a ThyssenKrupp factory that makes diesel engine parts. That facility, which employs 400 people, is shutting down and moving to Illinois next year.
The only one with a car is Irma Hernandez, Nunez's mother. Hernandez says that with a teenage son still at home, the cost of feeding him and sending him to school is rising, and she can no longer pay for the car. She's now two car payments behind.
"I'm about to lose my car," she says on her way to pick up one of her daughters to take her to Toledo. "So then what's going to happen to us?"
So Nunez and her daughter are mostly stuck at home.
The rising cost of food means their money gets them about a third fewer bags of groceries — $100 used to buy about 12 bags of groceries, but now it's more like seven or eight. So they cut back on expensive items like meat, and they don't buy extras like ice cream anymore. Instead, they eat a lot of starches like potatoes and noodles. They fear with a diet like that that they will soon wither away to nothingness.
Where do I send my donations? I do have a small van I'm not using. One of them could fit in the back!

Yes, the mains should be chocked, but the tail wheel should be straight and the yoke should be back so the elevator is up. But her most important mistake is she is curling the fingers of her right hand over the blade. Those palms and fingers should be laying flat on the blade so she won’t be pulled in if the prop kicks back which props often do. She’s also too short to safely hand start an airplane as tall on the gear as a Cessna 195. Other than that, she’s hot. I’d still give her a good review for what this clearly is, a bare back hand job.

Take a look at the bottom of the page. There is a link for 'vbcode'. This should help you. But simply it is something akin to this. You use the left sqare bracket "[" and right square bracket "]". Inside place "url=" and the link to your video. If you want text along with the link, then use the brackets with a "/" immediately after the left bracket and "url".
I'd illustrate, but then it would just show up as a link and you'd not see the code behind it. The 'vblink' will show you an example.

My response was to nothing else other than the yellowcake uranium story. We know Saddam Hussein had chemical & biological weapons, he used them on his own people years earlier, then hid their storage locations from UN inspectors.

Sorry to disillusion you, but you need to open your eyes. Sarin and VX nerve agents are not stored in steel containers and therefore CANNOT rust. Iraq had the largest stockpile of these materials of anyone other than the US and Soviet Union. More than enough to kill two-thirds of the people in the middle east. Some of the chemical artillery shells were rusted but still very much serviceable and ready to be used. Even a rusted round can kill.

Why don't you show what the price of gas was in mid 2006 to what it is now. I'm just as outraged by this do nothing congress and senate. We need to drill here and drill now, off-shore and in the areas in the US that have massive quantities of oil as well as Alaska. And we should also look at all the other sources..nuclear power, clean coal, wind, water, etc. I say all the above. Just by the congress saying they will do that, watch the price of oil drop dramatically. We have enough oil to drill for in the US that would take care of us for the next 100 years...plenty of time to come up with alternative fuels.

We don't need to drill. We need, as we always have needed, a new industry. This is the one mulligan our great nation always had in economic crisis, we always had a new industry developed in some way or shape to bring us out of coming "dark ages". We need to use methanol, hydrogen or some other abundant resource readily available to convert the current gas consuming products right now. If we do this our situation will turn for the better. The problem here is greed on partisan lines. They are all accountable for destroying our ability to compete with international businesses that have a stronger dollar. This is due to our dependence on the world bank, and it's ability to cripple our economy at its whim and our need for and of foreign nations whose people obviously hate us. Now when I say industry, I am referring to the "US steel" of the late 1800's, or the great American auto industry started by the Henry Ford's of the world. We need to bring back our ability to make things here. Or people like myself, will revolt and burn this place down. I am not a cowardice baby boomer that hip pied his way into manhood with a life of stories to which half are lies. I am not as most of you are, and most of our "allies" joke about us, Americans. As the only nation that if a foreigner were to say "this place is nasty and dirty" most of you would agree and say back "you know I like you" to the dirty foreigner. Any where else you just started a brawl with you at the end of the pile. We allow illegal foreigners to walk freely and make it difficult for their due process yet we protect Korea to the death with guns pointed at the Communist foreigners on the 38th Parallel. But it is illegal for our own people to point weapons at those on our formerly sovereign borders.

Why don't you show what the price of gas was in mid 2006 to what it is now. I'm just as outraged by this do nothing congress and senate. We need to drill here and drill now, off-shore and in the areas in the US that have massive quantities of oil as well as Alaska. And we should also look at all the other sources..nuclear power, clean coal, wind, water, etc. I say all the above. Just by the congress saying they will do that, watch the price of oil drop dramatically. We have enough oil to drill for in the US that would take care of us for the next 100 years...plenty of time to come up with alternative fuels.

Yesterday I was in Petsmart buying a large bag of Nutro dog food for my dog. I was in the check out line and the woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had, an elephant?
So, on impulse, I told her no. I didn't have a dog and that I was starting the Nutro Dog Food Diet again. I probably shouldn't, I continued, because I'd ended up in the hospital the last time. I awoke in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IV's in both arms. However, I did lose 40 pounds on the diet, so I was giving it another go.
I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way tha t it works is you load your pockets with Nutro nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete , and I needed to lose a few more pounds.
I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was, by now, enthralled with my story.
Horrified, this woman asked if I ended up in intensive care because I'd been poisoned by the dog food. I told her no, it happened because I stepped off a curb to sniff an Irish Setter's ass and a car hit both of us. :)
I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard!
Petsmart won't let me shop there anymore.

From what I have been led to beleive from American History class only 3 of the gentlemen pictured here were presidents. One was both a president and a war hero. Hopefully there will only be pictures of three presidents here on Janury 21 next year.

The last one (Lincoln - 5) was a frontier hero of sorts and, given what he went through with regard the Civil War, one could argue that he was also a 'war hero' too.
But, the reason Obama doesn't "look like those guys on the dollar bills" is because (a) he is not a war hero and has never served in the military, (b) he doesn't wear a powdered wig, and (c) unless he's signed something akin to the Communist Manifesto or the Humanist Manifesto, he's not a Founding Father, either.
His skin color hardly matters. It ain't the "N-word." It's the "L-word" (as in Liberal). Actually, it should be the "M-word" (as in Marxist).

Or it could be that some folks (including you, perhaps?) are just looking so hard for it that they see it where it ain't - even if they "know it when they see it." It's sort of like the Red Scare in the 1950s. Lots of loons knew a Commie "when they see one," (and there were, and are, enough Commies still in this country), but all too often they were just over-reacting. As a southern white man, you might be suffering from the White Guilt, which works similar to the way the Red Scare worked in some people.
Here's a perfect example of "knowing something when you see it" leading people to the wrong conclusion: Some years ago, when Anthony Williams became Mayor of Washington, DC, one of his aides used the term "niggardly" in reference to the budget. Well, some of the less-educated (i.e., "igorant" - and I know that's misspelled) staff heard that and, predictably, shouted "Racism!" They knew it when they saw it (or heard it, in this case). They were entirely wrong and entirely stupid. But, as a result, the aide had to leave the administration in order to maintain harmony, and the new mayor was deprived of a competent individual - all due to political correctness, ignorance, and folks who "knew it when dey seen it."
After seeing many comical, some hilarious posts by ajohn, I cannot believe the grief he's been getting, for what he felt was innocent humor.
My biggest fear is not the color of the man's skin, but the color of his politics.
The belief by many of his beautifully crafted oratory. Mostly meaningless, skillfully devoid of any easily arguable counter points.
It's easy to say that you will "guarantee every child a quality education", or that you will "make the insurance companies accountable", and to make them insure people with previous medical conditions. Or, take away tax incentives for companies that export jobs.
The problem with these promises are too many to list, but, unless we've just elected a King, who can make the free market act against it's own best interest, or a dictator who will seize control of all the thousands of School systems across the country, drag the kids in from the streets, and put a gun to the heads of the millions of parents who show no interest in teaching their children their future resides in themselves, no amount of "change" will mean sh**t. Just my 2.5 cents.

While were posting things that are tacitly offensive, here's one to consider: is the basic story behind Christianity really all that logical? After all, we're talking the people who brought us puritanism, guilt, and who have rubbed our nose in it for mongering or desiring any form of sexual outlet outside of marriage for the last 2000 years...Uh, yeah, that's a real laugh riot. Any particular reason why you decided to gratuitously attempt a smackdown of Christians? I mean, what caused you to bring that in from Left Field? Looks like a cheap shot, amigo.
