I finally got some spare time today to hit the Ave and try out some of my new equipment. I only spent about 1 hour on the Ave and only saw one familiar face. The familiar face was CJ's Jackie. I for one prefer to see pics of the scenes from the street as opposed to pics taken in a living room. Runnow's pics showed us what is out there, what it looked like from the car. I like the street pics posted in Florida, Calif and Illinois. They show me the variety of what was out there including what the monger passed up. Its the variety that gets many of us going out.
Don't get me wrong. Posed pics can show more about what you'll get when you get that girl, but everything has its place and if we show only posed pics and not street scenes, we miss out on what is, to me, one of the main attractions of the hobby.
Runnow's pics were as real and gritty as the hobby. I felt the chill air, the hunt, the stealth. I'm getting in my car.

I need to go telephoto soon. It would be nice to find a good used proffessional telephoto if possible. My current lenes only goes 18-55. It gives a smaller profile, I could not image trying to drive and shoot with a telephoto. You can get some great photos with just a point and shoot if you get some good angles, lighting and positioning. Ideally I would like a lenses that goes at least to 250mm, but 300mm would be great.

Tonight was my lucky night! Found Sarah near Cambria around 11:30. About an 8 on the SW scale. Pretty blond, beautiful blue eyes, around 25, 5'5, 130-140. Lots of fun puts you at ease immediately. If you read nothing else here; AVOID THIS GIRL LIKE THE PLAGUE. Definitely the worst experience I have had on the Ave. Katie hangs out at 7-11. Had a real attitude when I picked her up around 10 pm. I should know better that when this happens as it doesn't usually get any better. Negotiated 40 for half and half and she started complaining about it from the start. I had another successful run down on the Ave this week. I consider success, making it back home alive without any undue harassment from citizens or LE.
General Notes on the area:
By now everyone has probably heard of the massive blitz on Thursday November 13th when a total of 102 arrest were made in west Kensington. Well I would say that things are still reasonable hot. The status quo of dealers just hanging out on Kensington and somerset is being challenged more frequently. It would seem that most of these guys are out of work(product) most of the time and being chased of the corner frequently. I did see something that looked like a supplier drop off but I was not really paying that close of attention and it did not seem to really make logical sense.
Anyway, I saw a lot of LE activity on the south end of the Ave just above and just below Lehigh. There were at least 5 vehicle stops and 2 pedestrian stops. Three of the vehicle stops were on side streets and they all seemed standard ticketing for minor offences. The pedestrian stops were also on side streets and seem to be targeting the drug trade. I can not recall seeing much of the type of activity during the day so there seems to be an all out “war on drugs”. I did not see many Sws being stopped or questioned. The LE I saw on the ave seemed to drive right by without a second look though most of the sws were not being too obvious. I would say there were more LE vehicles patrolling the side streets than actually on the Ave with Septa even involved. I wonder what is SEPTA’s jurisdiction.
Discount shopping on the south end of the ave seems to be a little dicey and the north end for now seems a little safer, except for of course that is where most of the stings are
Maybe we will all just have to retire and move to florida.

Nice to get an update on the Patio. I have driven by myself on more than
one occasion only to find they are still closed. I have many fond

I went out on Sunday afternoon to check out the stroll. There was quite a few girls out as I came southbound and hit Venango. This brunette was young and pretty but a bit chunkier than I usually prefer. She was waving at cars from the corner of Ontario and K, not the brightest move in a hot LE patrolled area. I have often seen LE pulled in to the 7-11 there on the pretense of getting something to eat and lingering a long time. Smarter and more experienced SWs stroll a few blocks north, south or east of there. I pulled far around the corner and it took her a while to get the hint that I wasn’t going to pick her up at that corner and she strolled halfway down the block and I signaled her to get in.

One piece of advice, however. The K is not Walmart and stocked 24/7 with merchandise. You can do a whole tour the length of K at any time of the day and not see one SW. This is a lot like fishing; you need to be a bit patient. There are plenty of fish but they aren't always on every corner and sometimes not on any corner. Also, late afternoon is not necessarily an ideal time to be looking, although, in my experience, there are certainly SWs around from about 10 in the morning to late at night. But a better time to be looking for a more plentiful variety is early to mid-evening.

I had traveled all the way to Richmond, so I pulled over and kept the car heated and let her sleep another hour and a half. I turned around and headed back down Tioga, hoping I could wake her up to tell me the address, but no dice. I headed for you-know-who's place on Coral and hoped her long nap would be enough by the time we got there. When we arrived I could not wake her up. This was becoming a real problem. I drove back north and let her sleep another hour and a half near Wensley. By this time enough was enough. I had sympathy for her plight but I had invested many boring hours and it was time to call this over. She was asleep and leaned up against the passenger door. I opened it and tried to wake her and gently get her out of the car. This was a LOT more difficult than it sounds but after 15 minutes or so of difficulty she finally staggered to her feet, dazed and wide-eyed. I explained that she had been asleep for hours and that we had passed whatever address she had been talking about on Tioga twice and she also wasn't able to wake up at the indoor place and that I needed to go. She started to cry and pleaded that we still go forward with the date, but it was just impossible at this point since I was already late for an appointment and, even if I weren't, I would be afraid she would just fall asleep again and be unable to be wakened. Her tears turned to anger and she slammed her purse on the ground as I drove off.
I genuinely feel bad about this whole experience. It wasn't my intention to worsen her day any more than it already was, but I fear I had done exactly that. I really like Angel and I hope she can forgive me as I forgive her for the whole mess. As mongers and customers we are dealing with fellow human beings as providers. It is too easy to forget sometimes the gulf between us relating to poverty, homelessness, drug addiction and the danger of life on the streets around the Ave. But days like today cause me to look harder at myself and wonder if I am always acting in a way that I would appreciate if the shoe were on the other foot.

Strange how it can just come down to timing on the Ave. I've been on a tear recently, and have never been going home empty handed.
