Had some work nearby for a couple of days, so got me an AirBnB for moderate money over near York and 5th. Just to clarify, what I'm saying is that culturally Asians don't let their own people just fall through the cracks of society and have to resort to living on the streets which is why you see so few of them on the street even though millions of Asians live here whom many are poor, elderly, or don't have much family left.
I use to live in Los Angeles for years and traveled from San Diego to San Francisco and back and you just don't see lots of homeless Asians in the streets, or asian women out in the open walking the tracks for the matter.
In America it's overwhelming African, Caucasian, and Hispanics that makeup the bulk of the homeless encampments, the street prostitution, and as well as the bulk of the prison population. I'm arguing that Asians have more structure and are more organized and they're willing to sacrifice themselves as individuals for the greater cause. Confucianism and buddhist beliefs probably also play a role as well.
In western culture, on the other hand, people are taught and believe in rugged individualism so if you wildly succeed you get everything and have no obligation to help anyone all while literally homeless people are right outside your door (I. E. , NYC) and if you fail nobody cares and people are just waiting in the wings ready to exploit your bad luck. There is no comradery here only exploitation even if you're exploiting your own people.
This is why the wealth gap in America is so staggering even though the two camps live right next to each other. It's nuts, when you're in Kensington Philadelphia for example just 40 minutes away in another direction you're surrounded by million dollar homes. The rich get even richer and that's all that matters.

It's not back to usual as it never changed. The LEOs sweeping up the area never gets rid of the "work" around there. Just makes you have to look a tad bit harder with squinted eyes for only a couple days. After that, it goes back to normal and the encampments come pop back up in numbers. Any time this happens, usually every few months, you just work the side streets of the ave a little more, that's all.
Won't last long. Give it a few weeks.Funny, the evictions last a mere few hours if that. Interestingly enough the area is turning into the City Of Fences. Camps come down, fences go up, bolt cutters come out. The clean-up from Clearfield to Somerset is a daily task for the C L I P Unit. You can see them in Needle Park for hours only to have their efforts ruined moments later. They haul away loads of trash every day there. The circle of Kensington life (?). The city throws good money after bad money there. Me, I'm just an 'OL Gator.

Based on some intel here, I decided to check out the 7th and wolf area Monday afternoon.

Hard to say the exact area since you are correct in that there are plenty of citizens around. But we can spot them. Basically 8th to 6th. Porter to Jackson.
