Some of this will be out of date, but I am going to list all the spots in Vancouver I have tried over the last few years. Ordered best to worst.
Sunshine Massage. Been twice, only place I have visited during covid, which was November. Her mask stayed on, mine came off while I was face down. Standard HE.
Vancouver Aromatherapy Spa. Been 3 times, most recently probably early 2020. Always a good time.
Tranquility Spa. It seemed like more was going to happen, then turned into DIY. Had her put her feet in my face while she I did it.
Asian Wellness Spa. DIY, from someone who didn't want to be there. Awful everything, but the woman was mildly attractive.
Zen Massage. DIY, horrible experience. Place was dirty, walls were thin, and the woman was a troll.
Castle Spa (unsure what it was called when I went) - Not even DIY, massage was just over. They seem more like a legit place. That was probably my second AMP ever in 2017.
I have my vaccine scheduled, and my wife will be out of town for over a week, so I'm planning on hitting a few new spots. My top picks are Veela, Asian Sports, Elegance, and Blue Bay.

I have found from just a few visits to an AMP that they are considerably cheaper. Or at least they can be if you negotiate. However, I do like going to a nice discreet in-call where I don't feel like I'm being taped coming and going.

Hadn't been here in a long time. They give amazing deep tissue massages. Some of the best around. Went here only for a great regular massage. Met Lisa for the first time. She enjoyed teasing when face down. This was new and nice. On the flip she spoke pure Francais while I was able to enjoy anatomy class. Asked about becoming more deeply involved in learning. None of this might be true. However, I semi-recall going out a bit more than usual after getting my second shot, so I've gotten a few massages on a few days the past few weeks. I don't take my phone with me, but I do look at my phone clock before I go in, then I look at it when I get out to the car. I have a pretty good internal clock, but I'm like you: if I get off and / or the massage was good, then what the fuck do I care, as long as it doesn't seem like it was rushed or was indeed a short amount of time.

I always look closely at the clock as getting a clock with a built in pinhole camera is very easy. I check the mirror for a few things as well. Holes in the ceiling tile, I use the phone flashlight to inspect.
There are some other bullshit things at least one owner is doing to watch what is going on in the room. Technology is really getting the point where privacy is impossible.
So yes, in the course of all that I note the time on the clock. I honestly don't think moving it up is an intentional effort at ripping you off because most of the places that will short you on time will do that no matter what the clock says.

So many times when the massage is great it seems the hour gets trimmed down to 50 minutes which in some cases I don't mind. But as been discussed when it begins to feel like your just being processed for the tip paying for the hour and get 30 minutes and the "oh we busy now " I tend to not ever go back. Some of this activity and getting by with it is what has brought on the mindset of these girls thinking this is ok.
As was mentioned in a previous post here when your getting hit up for the tip before any extras happen your opening up your wallet for major disappointment when the girl is trying to collect before hand, be smart be cautious guys.
