Was in town a few weeks ago and checked out the reports here and settled on Red Spa 21 since it was the closest to my hotel that I could find reviews for (although I had to switch train lines once).
I called them up and set up an appointment. I wasn't sure how long it would take me to get there by subway so I told her in an hour. She said that was ok and took my (fake) name. I found the place fairly easily. It's between 20th and 21st off 6th, if I remember correctly. I actually got there 20 minutes after I had called and when I went upstairs she took me right in. I don't know if the girl who took me in was the mamasan (cause she was young) so she was probably just one of the girls. She took me to a room and told me to get undressed. She said another girl would be in, and I forget her name now but it began with an M. She didn't even take my house fee.
I got undressed and put my things in the purse provided. Stood there stark naked until "M" came in. She giggled and told me to put the robe on. So I did and she took me to the table shower. Coming to visit from Boston and was hoping to get some recommendations. Looking for somewhere that puts on a Fantastic Show. Based on this report I paid a visit to this spa while visiting your fair city recently, The fellow mongers descriptions are very accurate and I received similar treatment. My therapist was Bonnie, Korean also with smaller attributes, looks-8, Attitude-9, service-8 great personality and eager to please, got a full hour with a nice 20 minute sensual body rub at the end that made it worth the visit, on the flip she continues with the body rub till I wouldn't take it anymore and gave me a nice handshake for the finish (was not looking for a menu). So I stopped at Soapland Spa on Tuesday night. Can't remember her name I think it was Nikki. Looked to be approaching 40, nice figure, pretty face. Probably the only bad side of the experience outside of the particular provider I had.

Frequenter of the Boston area section but I will be in NYC (Manhattan) in a couple weeks (for a week) and I am hoping someone can provide assistance in finding a great massage / spa experience in the midtown area (or within reasonable vicinity).

I've reviewed red spa before (see previous). Was in town again and decided to re-visit. Better experience this time around. I didn't catch the name of the girl but she was late 30s I'd say (likely older w / asian aging) but was very attractive with a petite body and fake D's. She was such a sweetheart and hit all the right places. Superb table shower, excellent massage and wonderful ending. I left a larger tip than I normally would have mainly because she was so nice. Almost a year later, I return to Red Spa, to try out Kiki. (:
Made the appointment from Grand central and was there about 20 minutes after. Was escorted in by Daisy. The massage rooms are spacious enough for the provider to get around the table without an issue (not as roomy as Sun Gold, but bigger than Thousand Hand) , and there are bars on the ceiling to help with backwalking (yay!). Among the worst experiences I have ever had since hobbying. Ever. Completely dumpy facilities. Disgusting bathroom, wide in the open (multiple open doors in the hallway, some with a 6-20 people inside staring at you as you walk by or ring) with zero security for clients inside. Zero privacy once inside the place with curtains on every room.
Absolutely horrendous massage quality. Low quality therapists both in appearance but they do have a kind of chipper attitude. Prices are fine but not excellent and parking / getting there is terrible.
All things considered, I would never recommend the place and never visit again. The last time I visited NY I went to a place around 71st and Broadway in the basement of some building and it was a much better experience.

Plus the 'net has flattened everyone's ability to get info, so every AMP knows where every other AMP is and what they charge. So, its unlikely you'll see big price differences between them.

Stopped by 98 Mott last night around 9. Made a polite exit as they just aren't that great looking. Stopped at 118 Baxter and got no answer. Old phone numbers for them on the web are dead, or changed to a place on 34th.

So I walked in. 3-4 heavily powdered faces all stare at me without blinking. They were just sitting on couches arranged in a circle. No conversation. No game playing. They were just. Waiting. And of course, a working girl has got to make her dime, certainly in the window of time when she's hot and has the goods. But, for those of us who've been around for awhile, you have to admit, the price of candy has gone up. Personally, I think it's better business.
Sense for a house fee of say $60. Then, it really makes more sense to offer a nice tip for the menu items. Going up to and never more than 2. Once you start shelling out.
Things like 80 house and 160 tip, you're looking at the south side of 300 roses and you're better off with an escort. Right now, I'm finding that the right girl with the right.

Went earlier this week and got Joy. Short and cute but nothing amazing. Girlish not a woman. Shiny face and some zits but whatever. Place is expensive! Made some extra play $ last Sunday so figured I'd treat myself to something special. Fancy looking place in midtown in the east 40's. Smallest and shittiest elevator I ever been in on the way up to the 5th floor.
