I agree, the OP's description of TJ is chock full of misinformation. I have been to TJ about two dozen times in the past few years, and have experienced none of what this guy is describing. TJ is 1000 x better for mongering than Las Vegas. If you don't like the street girls for $20-25, or the smoking hot girls in Hong Kong for $80-100, then you can book at La Mansion for $28 and get an attractive, open-minded escort for $80-125 for 1-2 hours that includes BBBJ, DFK, and occasionally BBFS.
It is, in short, way way way better than Vegas where basic BBBJ has become 100+ and CFS 150+ unless the provider is ratchet, crazy, or both. As for the money spent getting there, $80 in gas and $8 in parking seems worth it for the fuckfest that awaits you upon arrival.

There are snippets of truth in there so I figure he did actually go to TJ maybe once or twice but a LONG time ago. The city has changed a lot for the better (pre COVID, but it'll be back). The description at The Shanahan gives is accurate. Pre-COVID I was going to TJ at least 2-3 x a month usually to attend Xolos matches, and we'd always hit Zona Norte after the game and we always had a great time. One thing that's changed since the OP's apparent visit is the amazing escort scene, as at The Shanahan says La Mansion is excellent an a quick taxi ride, it's my go-to place. Scan mileroticas for indies or there are several very dependable agencies in TJ. Sorry to continue a off topic topic, but I wanted to make clear how off base the OP was.

No I really did not want to and had a date with a hot blonde already lined up. Idk what happened but Friday, that ended up cancelled by noon. I suspect this guy had a bad experience or two. Nothing he says matches up with any of my many TJ visits over the years. To begin with, you won't find talent on Ave Revolucion. They cleaned it up years ago in hopes of getting the tourists back, based on media reports of how dangerous it was. All you'll get on that street is souvenirs. Yes, the price of ladies has gone up. You'll still do better than across the border. He contradicts himself. Will you find nothing but fugglies or the hottest that cost too much? It's not likely to get ripped off or knifed if you follow basic common sense safety rules. I could go on, but I think everyone gets my point. I am not that negative about TJ. And hot is often in the high of the beholder. Ordinary looking street girls in TJ still beat the hell out of emaciated drugged out wackos on American streets.I have to chime in on this one. The biggest concern for me has always been that steering clear of the cops is a bigger concern than the rateros. While I've had a few unsettling 'incidents,' I've also had some of the best mongering experiences of my life. The vast majority of robberies occur on or near the pedestrian bridge to the Zona even though it happens infrequently. You will circumvent this peril altogether by taking a taxi to and from the border crossing. 3) DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BUY DRUGS IN THE ZONA. You may like to party and let loose, but this is the number one way to find trouble in TJ both with thugs and with the policia. People will offer everything under the sun, but just say, "No thank you. " 4) To that point, do not accept "Help" from anyone who offers it. In addition to drugs, someone might offer you access to women or god knows what else. Kindly decline and keep moving. Don't make "friends" in the Zona. 5) Another rule I observe, not just in TJ but everywhere I travel, is to keep walking. Don't loiter too long. If you're scoping out the paraditas in the alley of Coahuila, it's fine to stop and talk to them along the way (hopefully you speak some Spanish). Just don't stand there too long for no good reason. Don't stand anywhere too long for no reason as it draws attention to your presence. If you need to relax take a break, or take a piss, step inside one of the bars or clubs like Hong Kong, Adelitas, etc. Order a beer and recharge you batteries. 6) Don't venture more than a block from the Zona in any direction. Believe it or not, the Zona is protected by the cartels. They prohibit street thugs from interfering in their operations. The protected area applies strictly to the Zona which is why you should never walk to or from the border. The perimeter of the Zona is where most of the danger lies. Of course this is not absolute. Anything can happen at any time so stay on alert. 7) Don't walk around with your smartphone in your hand, and never let a woman use your phone. The Zona these days is fairly safe these days. But it is important never to let your guard down. Always look to see who is walking behind you. The pedestrian bridge is fairly safe. There is almost always other people crossing the bridge. It is a good idea to avoid the stairs. The problem is that the walls are high on the stairs. So you will not be seen if the bandito's rob you. The cartels have a agreement to avoid violence in the Zona and in the tourist areas of TJ. There is still some low level drug dealers in TJ. Most of them hang out on Constitucion between the alley and Cohuilla st on the East side It is really ridiculous how openly the dealers operate.
It's been a while since I've been to TJ but I never had any problems, cops or otherwise. Of course I never did anything stupid as well. LOL.
The Zona being "protected" by the cartels made me think of Boystown in Nuevo Laredo. It's literally a walled in compound with cops at the entrance. Talk about keeping the playground safe. LOL.

And bam all this TJ talk. And yes TJ is a great place to take a trip to, a mongers paradise without flying half way around the world. I'm there almost every weekend so I will chime in on a couple things.
Danny offers a lot of good info. As far as zona cops. Keep in mind for them getting assigned to the zona norte area is a big payday for them. They are exposed to all the sex tourists with pockets full of money. They do not like lights or cameras. So many of the shakedowns occur in the fringe areas.
One shakedown that has become a little to common is working in cahoots with a taxi driver. They will pull your cab over and leave the driver alone and will only be concerned with finding a way to extract money from you. A rather new tactic is to tell you they need to check your cell phone. If they find porn or nudes they will tell you that you have violated a serious mexican law and could be looking at serious prison time. And guys this has happened to are usually happy to get out of this one by paying a bribe. So keep your phones clean.
I will disagree with Danny on this one. When leaving the zona always go to the valet stand in front of HK and get the zona shuttle free ride to the border and just tip the driver a few dollars. While they act like its a perk with the HK VIP card. It is available to anyone. They may rarely ask for the VIP card if you don't have one just tell them you were a guest of the hotel. And they won't check any further. If you are walking into TJ and you see the HK limo or town car waiting it will take you right to the zona. It is just not worth waiting for if its not there. In that case catch a $5 dollar taxi to the zona. Just be sure to make it clear before you get in " $5 to Hong Kong." I have never heard of cab shakedowns going in to the zona, only leaving.

When leaving the zona always go to the valet stand in front of HK and get the zona shuttle free ride to the border and just tip the driver a few dollars.This is a great inside tip as I have never taken the HK free shuttle, even when I had the HK card one year. I'll definitely try it out soon.
I'm simply wasting way too much time on the streets and online here, it's become extremely difficult to find quality providers. Went to LA last weekend, it was incredible. Stayed in Barstow on Friday since I was working in the area. Of course nothing there so I just crashed. Woke up really early and thought about maybe hitting up something in the IE before heading into LA.
I found Sky in Victorville, $. 6 incall. Not bad and I could immediately leave if the pics were fake / old. They were not and this girl was spectacular! Great way to start my visit. I couldn't go to sleep last night, so I decided to take a stroll. I wasn't interested in actually picking anyone up, but I was interested just to see what might be out on a Sunday night. Okay guys so last few days I been doing some footwork and I found some hot spots, I'm sure some veteran mongers may already know them but since they tend to rotate I thought I'd report.

I never use the bathroom unless she is also, my bathrooms are adjacent so I can hear when she's done and never close the door of the bathroom I'm in. Second while you may control the situation, you can't be in a more vulnerable position than in a car with your pants down, especially if you decide to use the back seat. You can be set up that way too, you are in a secluded spot so if anybody rolls up, you are screwed, somebody could also be watching you and follow you. I like to be relaxed, not having to keep an eye out constantly for anyone pulling up. And if LE pulls up, you are really screwed. Also cardate service is always the least satisfying of the three options.

You have a good point as it isn't the most comfortable. I just make sure I always choose the spot and if the area has no spots, then I pull over and have her hit the road. Firearm and security is great for if they happen to come back to rob you, but if you have a hooker in your house and you got to use extreme measures. My biggest pet peeve is smelling like cig smoke from an incall. I am not a smoker and I can't stand smelling stale after an incall date. Especially after I have already showered and gotten fresh.

I've been on Trop in the afternoon while working just about every day this week, things are picking up at least in the day time, I'm sure the night is the same. I was out at different times each day between 12 and 4 pm, at one point there were at least 6 in the BK parking lot, and 5-6 others walking between there and the Orleans. Saw a really nice one, passed up the others and she turned out to be one I've seen before. Great service, at one point she was a regular but she's become totally unreliable, stood me up the last two times I tried to see her. I've seen her out there twice but always when I don't have the time. She gave me the old BS line. "I was going through some stuff but I'm good now, let's hook up". I actually called and texted but of course no reply. There were a few others that were nice too, got a couple of numbers and a few would not give up the digits. Have a video of the one that refused to give up the digits, too big to post, here's a couple of screen shots. Of course today, Friday, the day I want to see someone, was the worst day of all, slim pickings, just the one in the video was worth approaching. Thanks for the great tips! How far are the above mentioned places from the airport?The California hotel and Main Street Station in downtown Vegas by Fremont st are known for attracting Hawaiians, but it's a much older crowd.
There are also lots of SWs downtown around Fremont st, but the area is more sketchy so you have to be careful. Lots of druggies and homeless in that area.
The Budget Suites on Trop is less than a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport. The airport is right across the street from Mandalay Bay hotel on Las Vegas blvd. If you stayed at New York New York or Excalibur you could walk across the bridge over the highway and get to that area on Trop by the Budget Suites where the girls are, but then you would have a hard time convincing them to walk back to your room. You could ask if the girl has a room nearby that you can use.
Boulder highway from the airport is a longer drive. I'd say at least 20 minutes without traffic and without getting all the red lights. The red lights in Vegas are looonnnggg.

Over the years, I've seen many attempts to try and recruit girls end up in confrontations when a nearby pimp who was watching his girl (s) rolls up to defend his property. It still happens all the time. There were a few times when it almost got physical, but mostly just shouting and threatening was all that happened. I'm sure there were times where they were flashing weapons.
Was out touring Trop last night from about 3-5 am. I stayed by the BK area, as the construction on the west end was totally annoying, and the one lap I did showed no talent. Seems quite odd that she would get in your car if knew a decoy was behind. You. ! What car was the decoy driving. This makes me doubt a decoy was behind you.That's not what I wrote, she told me there was one behind me when I initially saw her and she told me to move down the street. The car she was talking about was behind me in the BK parking lot, I pulled out started towards Trop when I spotted her, when she told me to go down the street, I turned right on Trop then into the gas station back through the BK parking lot then turned left and parked down the street. She walked down the street and got it.
