HTTPS is no longer supported on this site. HTTP is much less secure and makes everyone who connects more vulnerable. One must wonder why those who run the site would disable something so standard that protects end-users.

Just use a free vpn.Free VPN's are not 'free'. They collect and sell your data. And they keep logs of your traffic which can be requested by LE for investigations. A good VPN doesn't do those things. No data collecting and no logs. As far as VPN's go, you get what you pay for.
