Can we combine forces to get a list of some kick ass, great, excellent lawyers to have should the need arise?

I myself do not have a need at present, but who is to say that could not change for any of us.

"Better to have and not need then to need and not have. ".

Let's prepare rather then find ourselves sitting somewhere extremely unpleasant in deep crap.

Also many times a great lawyer can head off charges before they gain any momentum.

Too many potential situations to list. Also lets not rule out false accusations.

Many a pro athlete can tell you of shakedown attempts which included the gal storing a bit of his DNA.

What exactly are we supposed to do and NOT do? Say and not say?

Carry I'd with us?

Or never carry I'd in a place with us.

What would the kick ass lawyer tell us?

Don't talk to the police. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.

Don't try to talk your way out of the situation. They will trick you into confessing, even confessing to something you did not do. They do not know what was going on behind closed doors. They want to see what you offer up, and then use it against you. You have the right to remain silent, Use It!

Remember. Robert Kraft got his charges dismissed because he was smart and let his lawyer do the talking.

Regarding the issue of taking an I'd. If they have you detained, or arrested, they will not let you go until you are identified. So taking your I'd with you gets you released faster. Not taking your I'd does not mean they are just going to say "well you got us there, you are free to go". It gives them a reason to hold you longer.

Most raids a re a cite and release situation. They will write you a misdemeanor citation, run you for warrants, and let you go on your promise to appear for arraignment.

There is a famous youtube video by law professor James Duane that is worth watching, even though he talks dizzyingly fast. He followed that up with a book "you have the right to remain innocent", where his updated advice is to plead the sixth and not the fifth.

I always chuckle with how many guys here say they don't carry anything with them like that's a loophole. Carry your identification, geniuses. You don't have to give it unless you're being detained but it you are being detained you're going to want to have an identification to hand over other than your Ralph's Club card.

Keep quiet. Answer respectfully and if you have to ask for a lawyer. A couple of years ago at least two guys were detained at the then notorious VIP in Spring Valley. You can look back on the MP board and read about it. The raid was probably provoked by a rival AMP. Anyway, one guy pulls out his cell phone and starts recording the cops. Lets just say things went downhill very fast.

I'm one of those guys who goes in with nothing but cash and condoms. The point of "needing" I'd if you are detained, or even questioned, is valid.

I've been in situations where I've been asked for my ID and I had a good reason not to have it on me. In one case I was in board shorts on the way to the beach, and being stupid and drinking a beer out in the open. When the cop stopped me for drinking in public and asked for my ID, I explained that my wallet was locked in my car for safety, but I know my number, and offered it immediately. He ran my number, saw it really was me. And the incident was over with a warning. I think it went well for several reasons. One, I was cooperative (and I pleaded stupid immediately), I also had a good reason why I didn't have I'd so it didn't look like I was hiding it from him, and I knew the number to offer up, and I did it freely.

I'm not sure if this would work in a sting operation, but I'd memorize your DL or ID number as your back up. A cop would understand you saying it was in your car and you leave it there so you can't be ripped off, or forget your wallet at the spa. And I think if you can offer the number, they can at least verify who you are and make you look more cooperative. It may not get you out of a citation or further problems, but it will give them one less reason to hold you any longer than they have to. My cop buddies tell me they want to avoid paperwork, so the easier you make it for them to avoid more work the better for you too.

The advice of keeping your mouth shut is crucial to avoiding digging deeper towards hell. Never argue with a cop, you'll lose. While dealing with the law do your best to hide any hostility you may subconsciously keep in your mind towards LE. Courtesy, respect, and a cooperative civil tone will work wonders.

Just some advice from a guy with Cops in the family, knows Cops as friends, and who's had to deal with LE for less than pleasant reasons. I'm not a lawyer or qualified for legal advice, so take it for what it's worth.

It is not easy to find that incident. Here it is.

http://www.usasexguide.nl/forum/showthread.php?32870-Stupid-Shit-In-San-Diego&p=5744434&viewfull=1#post5744434I remember the incident and the post.

To paraphrase for the audience, during the raid the two guys found there were left sitting in the lobby as the cops did their stuff. Then one genius decided to announce to the cops that he was going to video it all with his phone and started to do so. Guess what? He got the cops attention. They Jacked him up, roughed him up, cuffed him and stuffed him in the back of the Patrol Car as they finished doing their stuff.

I think they were both cited, the genius and the other guy stuck with him. They might not have been cited at all if he has just sat still, kept quiet, cooperated, and waited to see what comes next.

Then he posed about it like he was a victim in the situation, never realizing he caused his own doom.

As for the raid. Mina and her crew at VIP, took the industry by storm. Amazing girls, spontaneous surprise Menage a trois with no extra fees, and mongers stampeded to them. The competition went ballistic and the drama was on. No doubt it was the competition that called for the raid.

Anyway a good lesson to learn. Dealing with LE, be quiet, cooperate, and see what happens.
