I happened to be in there to see the next "Mrs. Willy", Momo, on March 19th, and I was told the owner was closing down after that very day due to the health concerns. The oxygen spa closed permanently there is for sale sign outside the building. Not just closed because of virus.That's to bad to hear, I've been going to Oxygen on and off for 14 years. You usually got a solid Korean Massage their.
Some other places that closed in the last few years in that area: Magic Spa, Lucky Spa, Crystal Spa, Japanese Spa a few times although there still around in the old IU Spa space. Spoke with someone that works in LA. Not all, but the ones that are being safe are not planning to open until LMT open. They are regulated by professional licensing entity. In addition, many of the therapists want to be safe bc of obvious issues with such close contact with customers. She was saying that when they do open they might only take by appointments only so only 1-2 clients at a time with 15 minutes between each session for cleaning and disinfecting. She says they are always clean and disinfected anyways so that won't be difficult. As soon as client comes in they will conduct a temperature check and they must self shower. The therapist's are contemplating having a mask on or having the client keep a mask on during the session maybe both. She said it will be a difficult situation bc she understands that is not ideal for massage sessions but may be the only way to reopen safely for the customers and therapists. She asked me for any suggestions and I couldn't think of any other than "Trust me," I've been quarantined for over 30 days now and need some Stress relief I'll follow your rules just open! LOL! Any suggestions for them fellow hobbyists?
